I price shop all of the garden stores in the area, from Lowe's, Home Depot to Christiana's and more. Calloways has the best pricing for fuller, thicker herbs then anyone else in town their pricing on herbs are almost $2.00 less then Home Depot and or Lowe's these days, and they look so much better. Christiana's might be cheaper but the lack of thickness and fullness of their herbs are just putting you behind by a month or more. Trust me, go look. The organization at Calloways also just makes it easier to find the herbs and flowers quickly and easily compared to big box stores. The variety is unmatched at this location, Custer location and the North Plano location as well. I shop all locations as I look for the most beautiful flowers I can find. Calloways has come a long way over the decades. They have now become some of the most competitive flowers, herbs and vegetables specialists with great overall value. Like the Narnia wardrobe, the shop seems far bigger on the inside than the outside. Plants are grouped by type and labels include both common and Latin names. I had a perception that prices would be high but found it very competitive. If you join the mail list coupons will be sent to your inbox on a weekly basis.

If you are in the Richardson area you must certainly pop in and see what you can find to add life and color to your home.

I have shopped here for years and never had a problem with anyone, was always impressed by the selection and even the value. But one bad experience can change the whole impression of a place and and destroy years of reputation building in a consumer's mind. So here is what happened. Two visits ago we were hounded by them to join their loyalty program and while I hate the spam that usually comes along with joining those things, we went ahead and joined as it seemed important to the business. This time when we came, my wife forgot and did not tell them we were members when she approached the register. UNLIKE THEIR COMPETITORS, THEY DID NOT ASK IF WE WERE MEMBERS. After the transaction, my wife remembered and informed the person at the register (who I believe is one of the owners) that she was a member and got a truly shockingly bad response from a customer relations perspective. She was told that it was too late, and that it was her responsibility to tell them before the transaction and that they could not add the purchase points to the membership. To be clear, while not getting the points is part of it, the biggest part of it was the attitude with which this was put back on us. Seems like a little thing I know, but it's the little things become big things that affect whether I ever want to return to a place that we literally have spent thousands of dollars at in the past.

They have these craft DIY events 1st saturday of each month which is quite cool to host. However, the space is never enough. People have to create makeshift work spaces (ie: cart, some loose board, etc) which I would think is unsafe. The staffers parking themselves at the table "checking" people in and providing paints can maybe use some training on how to add more work space? They're always just sitting there overly greeting people instead of trying to move the lines along quicker. A lot of useless stuff crowding the aisles as another reviewer alluded to. LEt's clean up the walking space a bit if possible.

One of the gentleman (John) that works there always helps me find exactly what I am looking for and he also offers suggestions on how to successfully grow whatever I am trying to grow. There is a large selection of plants, herbs, and flowers to choose from. There is also a gift shop that has plenty of unique and interesting items to purchase for that special someone. One of the most delightful features of this nursery are the cats that live on the premises. My sons and I love petting the cats; there is one in particular we enjoy seeing the most as he is the sweetest kitty on the property and his name is Vail. On 7/4/26, a staff member was sitting in the cooler handing out water bottles -- 1-2 each -- to select customers, but skipped over us entirely. When we finally got inside, she asked how we were doing. My 80-year-old mother mentioned it was hot, and the employee replied, "Is it that hot since you're out?" -- dismissive, especially right after handing out water to other customers and not us. It felt like the staff cater to a certain type of customer, and we didn't fit that mold. Very disappointing and disheartening after being loyal customers for so long especially on July 4th.

I've worked with landscapers before and usually you get a lot of talk and not a lot of follow through. This was different. They gave us a few design options, walked us through everything, and actually communicated throughout the whole project which was huge for me. What really stood out was the quality of the work. We've paid for "premium" service in the past and never really felt like we got it. With Blooming Colors, you can tell they care. The details, the cleanup, the way everything came together, it just felt right. Now our backyard is a place we actually want to spend time in again, which I didn't think I'd say a few months ago. We'll be using them going forward for both our home and our rental properties here in Southlake. No question.

Here's the story... Before purchasing, I made it crystal clear I needed HOA approval (as an "exception" because it's not on our approved landscaping list). On that lovely Saturday, the very helpful sales associate, Olivia, confidently assured me I'd get a full refund if the HOA didn't approve. No mention of store credit. No caveats. That promise (and my love for those two trees) was the only reason I agreed to move forward and let them hold the trees on my card. HOA said no. I came back expecting a simple resolution... and instead got a full rewrite of reality. Olivia wasn't there, and the staff immediately insisted there was "no way she would've said that." One employee chimed in, "I trained her myself," followed by questions about whether I "saw all the no-refund signs." The manager doubled down with, "I really don't believe she said that." All of this--despite having a witness that was standing next to me who heard the entire conversation. Let's call it what it was: not confusion... gaslighting. After things escalated, the owner came out, seemingly only after I mentioned disputing the charge. She agree to refund me--but not before trying to shush me, telling me to "be quiet or wait outside," and saying, "I'll refund your money and you can go buy your trees elsewhere." Nothing says "family business values" quite like dismissing a paying customer on the way out. The trees were beautiful, no doubt--but their integrity and respect wilted faster than a Texas agave in August. If you shop here, get everything in writing... because their word clearly doesn't take root. Better yet, don't.
