Two weeks later, he showed up unannounced. His view was that the tree was planted too deep (Briggs nursery, where the tree was originally purchased, advised that there was a disease and I should spray it with a fungicide - which I did before. Bruce showed up.). Bruce said he would lift the tree, and his charge from the moment he left his house to the minute he returned was $150/hour. Mind you, I didn't pay for this tree and could easily replace it for much less than he was planning on charging me. And no guarantee of course that lifting the tree would solve the problem. There is a saying, "pigs get fat, but hogs get slaughtered". I will not use him again. Ps - a few years back, Bruce cut back a viburnum that was not doing well and charged $700 for that. Yeah, that tree died the next year.

Horrible at best craftsmanship. It's hard to find one straight cut on any of the work performed.
