We had an excellent experience with All Island. Our job was small (less than $100K) but all phases went smoothly. The principals came out to look at our site and generate ideas & estimates. The quoting process was detailed with options. They were the ONLY firm to draw a sketch of what we were thinking. The different installation crews came in and did their specific work swiftly, clean and respectful of our space. Each different crew had a senior person that came by to check in and ensure the job was going well. Billing was straightforward and stayed within the guidelines of the initial quote. If you want a cut-and-run contractor, Byron Rymer of All Island Septic Service is your guy!!! Poorly written contract, worst customer service ever!! Waited over a year for job to start. Doesn't return phone calls. Did the absolute minimum work; left back yard looking like a mud pit with sink holes; left two huge 5-6" smelly septic vent pipes sticking 3 feet out middle of back yard where my grandkids play; refuses to re-direct them; refuses to provide quote on installing a barrier around our over 100 year-old pine tree to save it, instead of cutting it down after installing septic. Never communicated which tree would be cut; little to no communication with homeowners; Uncooperative; egotistical jerk. If I could show pics, I would. read more

Inconsiderate company who cares little about the community. Local ordinances allow work to begin at 7:00AM and they show up with their incredibly loud equipment in quiet, residential neighborhood at those times and begin waking the dead. No consideration for sleeping elderly, children or anyyone else. I don't know what it is about them, or whether it is old or cheap equipment, but they seem to make significantly more noise than other landscaping companies and the workers seem to love to rev their weedwhackers and blowers at maximum RPM even when the are standing there doing nothing. read more

This company has the absolute worst possible customer service. Despite being a major customer when we put in our pool some years ago, they won't show up to do any new work, won't return phone calls, and they get all pissy if you question their service. The woman in the office gets very defensive. As others have said, you may get a quick quote but they will never show up to do the work. First (and second time) getting wood from All Island. I usually order from Bill's Sales, but they were booking too far out. I ordered a cord of seasoned wood from Byron for 300. First load review - Pros: it came fast, it burned very well. The price for a cord of seasoned hardwood was good. Also, Byron offered to help toss the wood closer to where I wanted it placed. Cons: it was NOT a full cord. It was 2/3 of a cord, 85 cubic feet. Also, it was not screened, so there was a lot of bark. I ran out of wood in a month, so I ordered another cord hoping the shortage was just a fluke. Second load review - Pros: none. Cons: 1) driver said 430, but came at 1 when no one was home. He was pissed and we rescheduled for 3pm the next day. He came at noon. We scrambled and worked it out. 2) the wood was less dirty than the first load, but did not burn like the first load and was NOT seasoned. 3) again, not a full cord, but this time it was only half a cord. 69 cubic feet. I texted Byron and got no response. Leaving two stars because leaving one star is obnoxious. Byron is a good guy. All Island is a great sponsor of community activities. Maybe their supplier screwed them, or maybe they were just having a bad couple of days. If you need it fast, AI is perfect. If you really need a full cord of seasoned hardwood, you should probably just call Bill's Sales. They will deliver almost a full cord. read more

The lady in the office is a total bitch, I called because all island hit my mailbox and totally realized it and drove away. My girlfriend had called into the office and was treated poorly. I called and the same thing happened basically the woman was trying to deny that it happened. All I have to say is for a company that big this is extremely Unprofessional! If I could give a zero I would. Hired to remove a cesspool and install a new 4 bedroom septic. It took them months to start the job- ok, they're busy which I understand. The workers were courteous and did work hard and fast. The problem is they completed the job in January and the finishing of the disturbed area of the yard; which is quite large (even out land to grade, rake, loam, and seed) is still not done and we are halfway into June. The area is completely rock, muddy, and a disaster. We've called 20+ times to get them out here to finish a job they have been 100% paid for for over 5 months and keep getting the run around. When the other team finally shows they admit what a disaster it is, filled with weeds at this point, and have the audacity to suggest we pay them more money to finish (presumably correctly) the job they have been paid for already for five months! The solution was to leave a 50lb bag of grass seed, for me to distribute!!! over a rock, dirt, and weed filled backyard. The seed won't even grow on rocks; I know that and Im not a "landscaper". Not to mention 50lb of seed might cover half the disturbed area. To boot, back in March we had them out to quote an 1100 sqft paver patio, retaining wall, and terracing, as well as a rough estimate of an inground pool. Again, it's now June - and we've never received a quote; even after numerous calls to their office for one. Needless to say we are talking well into 6 figures of work here - business I am sure they want. We had the paver patio done elsewhere, as will all of work in the future, and the work of any neighbor who will listen to me on how poor of an experience this company has been. We live in a desirable neighborhood for their business too, the kind where most homes pay for regular landscaping/maintenance as well as larger jobs. I dealt with Shane who was very pleasant and accommodating. He sent a crew to do a lot of regrading and planting on my property. The crew was always polite and showed up when they said they would, every day until the job was complete. I am reserving my 5 star review until my spring over-seeding is complete. I'm afraid I have to downgrade this review. My overseeding was done but my new areas from the regrading are still mostly weeds. I was also unsuccessful getting AIL out here for Spring cleanup. read more

All Island Landscape was contracted to do spring clean up and landscape services ranging from restoration, improving, maintaining landscape including grass, shrubs and trees. Their service was absolutely lowest quality you can find anywhere. Dishonest, disrespectful, superficial and destructive work left our landscape look like a mess, far worse than we started with. Following their spring clean up I took photos of their work showing wild animal feces on the pool apron, dead leaves were piled up on the pool cover, and many more. Then I went to work on it and did the job the way it should have been done. They charged me on things they did not do. When confronted they deny any wrong doing. They should be banned from conducting business because they are a fraud! read more

Avoid By All Means They've been destroying our property on a bi weekly basis. Last week, they couldn't enter our driveway because, "our car was in the way," was their reason, so instead of simply parking and asking us to move our car like intelligent people, they drove away and never showed. This week, today, mowing our lawn, they decided to continue to fail at the easiest job. I watched the weedwacker the entire time, wherever place he touched, he either create divots or whacked TOO short and left the grass yellow or just completed mauled. Everywhere in our property, every edge, either has dead grass as a result over time, or has divots and yellow pulled grass -- as if he was only using one hand. I watched this same man using the weedwacker, attempt to use a leaf blower, and he simply walked into one section of our property talking on the phone, blew mulch and cut grass on our patio, then walked out. They're destroying our lawn and they don't even care read more

Contacted the company for a quote on a big yard job. Landscaper was friendly and arrived in time for our appointment. He said I'd have quote at the end is the day. It's 4 days later and no call from him. I have called the office 3 times- each conversation ending with a ," I'll get an answer and call you back." No one has called me back. Horrible service. I am so disgusted about how this company has dealt with us. So unprofessional. They damaged our driveway with one of their trucks leaving a large hole. It took weeks to set up for the owner Byron to come and have a look and then 'he' doesn't even show up. We have 2 young kids and this hole is an ankle breaker. They then had the nerve to say 'Due to the failure of your driveway we are not able to cover any of the cost". I'd like to point out that maybe if our driveway was buckled, old, cracked and in bad shape we would of shrugged our shoulders and said ok but this is not the case. After $70,000+ of landscape work, all of the top steps at each landing sank. Although Byron (owner) said that he would take care of any work quality issues, I still received a $200+ bill for the fix. Said he was already "very generous" with this job; hence the bill. All his previous callbacks were to "generously" fix his workers' shoddy workmanship. On one callback to fix an uneven area on a paver patio, his worker left cigarette butts everywhere and left my new patio furniture smelling of smoke. Another worker used MY grill cover to protect another uneven area of pavers he fixed when it started to rain. Different "crew" seal coated my patio without hosing it down first; basically sealed in dirt, sand, and even leaves that lasted for two years. Owner talks a great salesman talk but is too cheap to hire quality workers to perform the quality work he promises. Look elsewhere. read more

ALL Island Landscape (AIL) wins my award as the VERY WORST landscape and stone work company ever. In 2010, my father, a savvy 86 year old, contacted this company in order to give them business for a driveway wall rebuild. The project was simple and straightforward. My father asked me to assist with the selection of a company to complete the project. I reviewed the details of the estimate visit, and contract presented by the (AIL) representative. My father gave (AIL) a $600 pre-paid deposit, and a date was set to begin the work. (AIL) was a no-show, with no phone call on the agreed upon start date, leaving myself, and my 86 year old father in the dark. I called (AIL) to ask why they were not on the job on the date promised, and why there was no phone call placed to let us know that the job would not be starting as scheduled. When the job did start, several weeks after the agreed start date, the work, was slow, shoddy and unprofessional, (AIL) also ran out of promised materials causing further delay. Cap stones for the driveway wall were not sealed properly and actually fell off when I inspected the job after supposed completion. (AIL) was very confrontational when I asked that shoddy work be corrected. My review of (AIL) from dealing directly with them: Dishonest, disorganized, unprofessional, rude, general public and senior citizens beware.
