This is a great addition to Post Falls and a fun place to stop in. They definitely do a heavy pour on their drinks, but I'm not complaining. ;) I love their gluten free buns and vegan options when I'm wanting a break from meat. The food has been very fresh, super yummy and the wait staff is on their a-game. The patio is so fun in the summer time and it's a great place for families or to meet up with friends. Came back again. A few items on the menu are great the Pork Mac and the chili but everything else is just so so..I had a Cobb salad this time with crispy chicken. It was edible. My partner had fish tacos and unfortunately the fish was not fully cooked. The cocktails were yummy but they don't offer any dark beer either draft or can. Could be much better. And it was cold. Every table is in the draft from a door, window or cold air vent. Not great in the winter. I will have to pass next time. Love this place! Food is delicious. Portions are huge. We leave with boxes every-time. The sawmill chicken burger is my favorite so far, but I want to try everything on the menu. Delicious! The food arrived very quickly. I had the Pork Mac, and it was creamy without being heavy. The pulled pork had a great flavor and the bbq sauce was sweet and smoky. The Sawmill has become one of my favorite places for lunch in Post Falls. They have a big beer selection and their food never disappoints. This was one of those "stop in on a whim" kinda evenings. We needed dinner. We'd never tried this place before. We gave it a try. The decor is half modern industrial, and half traditional bar and grill. The tables are entire planks of trees, varnished. Well, the name is the Sawmill, right? It makes sense. Great local beer selection. Beers from Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, and other Idaho locations. I tried the Cubano sammich, while my dear wife got the Mac and Cheese with crispy pork belly and a side of chili. My mom got a burger, and dad got the prime rib sammich. We all stuffed ourselves; the portions were just this side of being too much. The resounding critique from all of us was "Great flavor". Everything just tasted good. The chipotle-maple mayo made an awesome dipping sauce for the sweet potato tots. My cubano had loads of flavor, and none of them overpowered any other flavor. The chili went perfect with the Belgian-style porter. The Mac and Cheese was made with a pimento cheese sauce, and it was excellent. You could tell they used good beef for the burger. In short, we all gave it two thumbs up. Our waitress knew what beers paired well with what food, and aided in my plot to pay for the meal so my Dad wouldn't even have a chance to whip out his card. Had my first visit here yesterday for lunch and was extremely pleased with the experience! They seated our group of 4 quickly and brought waters for everyone. The longest wait was in placing our order (about 15 minutes). Once the orders were placed, the first two plates of pulled pork tacos arrived within 5 minutes! The other two plates arrived within 2 minutes after that. The best part was the food was outstanding! The tacos were loaded with tasty pork and just a slight amount of coleslaw. The poblano sauce was fantastic and served on the side. The sweet potato tots were a taste treat too! I look forward to the next visit there! read more

The ambiance was fine - I was there for lunch with my sister. After dining there a few months ago I was eager to try something new and get my favorite appetizer. We decided to try their chicken quesadilla app and the much savored chips and queso. Those were not the same chips and cheese sauce we had before. The queso tasted like velveeta and Rotel. Ick! The quesadilla came out with nothing with it. Really? No sour cream or salsa like other places. When I asked the waitress I was brusquely told they are not served with sides but she could get me some for an up charge. We also ordered fish and chips. Again it tasted like frozen fish that was deep fried. Nothing like the fish and chips we've had there in the past. On a side note... Those fries were absolutely delish!!! I don't write many reviews but I was so disappointed with what used to be a yummy place in our neighborhood to eat. I don't know if they are trying to cut costs by toning down their menu but the changes aren't good. Sawmill states they have some regular menu items available for lunch. This is a higher priced establishment for cocktails and food. However, it was worth it. The jalapeño artichoke dip was AMAZING and it came with plenty of chips and veggies for dipping. This place is our go-to in the Inland Northwest for fish & chips, although everything we've tried is superb! We get the double fish & chips (six nice-sized pieces with a regular serving of fries) and share. We've tried fish & chips all over the Spokane area, and Sawmill Grille has consistently been the best - not frozen, hand breaded, hot, fresh, with seasoned fries that are delicious too! We go in knowing that parking can be tricky (the lot is small, but park on the street if necessary) and wait times can be 20 min. or more (worth it!). We've dined on the first floor (the restaurant) and the upper floor (the whiskey bar) and on the upper floor balcony, so we expect the noise. Unless you're outside, the noise can be excessive, so with my husband's hearing deficiency, we don't meet up with friends there. Once it cools down enough to enjoy the patio, we will. read more

We have been wanting to try this place for some time. Finally got around to it. Left disappointed. The good: - Nice building - Friendly service - Spirits from local distillery available. The not so good - Cafeteria quality food - Loud dance music did not go with atmosphere - Limited beer selection - Very drafty if seated near the door - Don't answer the phone We tried calling a couple of times to verify that they were open. No answer, so we figured they must be closed. When we drove by to go to another restaurant, we noticed they were open and pulled in. It was around 5 PM and although it was busy as we'd expect, we were promptly seated. Server promptly came by and took our drink orders. The menu had a good variety of options. We also noticed that they made some cocktails with spirits from a local distillery. So things were looking good. While we waited for our food to arrive, we noticed that the music got a little louder and was mostly dance music that you'd find at a club. We did appreciate the building and all the woodwork and custom tables, but where we were seated, we would get a blast of cold air any time the door was opened. The food arrived, and I kept thinking I was eating in a cafeteria. The side salad took up a large plate and consisted of cut up iceberg lettuce, a couple pieces of tomato, and a handful of 1/4" square croutons. The shrimp tacos consisted of two tortillas with a few shrimp each, a little bit of cabbage and a side of a spicy sauce and salsa. My date had a burger that was overcooked and a plateful of sweet potato tots, that had a emphasis on sweet. We thought that maybe ketchup would help, but that made things worse. The ketchup was a generic "fancy" ketchup that was sweeter than the tots. Each of the meals was $15 and seemed pricey for the quality. There are better places. read more

They have a very nice family atmosphere with giant windows to see almost every direction of Post Falls. I had the chicken sandwich and I cannot stop thinking about it ! Crispy chicken with two strips of bacon who does that ??!! melted cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato and their "Sawmill Sauce". One of the best chicken Sammy's I've had.
