I am the mother of the bride. My daughter had her wedding at Saxon Manor in December 2025, and I am writing this review because what happened to our family needs to be known. The catering failures on her wedding day were numerous and inexcusable. We had carefully selected a menu after going through TWO tastings, the first of which was so unsatisfactory that we actually asked to bring in our own caterer. We were persuaded to give them a second chance after being told a new chef had been hired. We went back, had a second tasting, and selected our menu: chicken skewers and a dip and cheese platter for appetizers, and for dinner, caesar salad, plain rice pilaf, steak bites, au gratin potatoes, and salmon. Here is what was actually served at my daughter's wedding: * Instead of salmon, they served chicken. * Instead of au gratin potatoes, they served green beans and zucchini, something no one wanted or enjoyed. * Instead of plain rice pilaf, it came out with cranberries in it. * They ran out of chicken skewers during the appetizer hour. Many of our guests did not get any. That is three wrong dinner items and a shortage on the appetizers, on my daughter's wedding day. The manager on site (Nick) acknowledged the mistakes and apologized, and told us the owner would call to make it right. When the owner called me, I was shocked by his behavior. He tried to justify serving green beans by saying they had received a large shipment and had extras lying around, as if my daughter's wedding was a place to use up surplus produce. He claimed he personally witnessed plenty of skewers and suggested our guests may have been overeating. He made an insinuation that my daughter was somehow at fault by saying "I don't want to say your daughter was at fault, but." He stopped there and gave no reason whatsoever how or why the bride would be at fault here (because there is none). When I asked him what do you mean my daughter is at fault, he changed the subject. And when I calmly said this appeared to be a breach of contract, he became loud, aggressive, and belligerent, repeatedly yelling "you played me." I was so uncomfortable with his conduct that I ended the call and told him all future communication must be in writing or with a male (attorney) family member. I then sent a detailed email to the owner and the venue documenting everything and asking for appropriate compensation. They never replied. Not once. Months went by in complete silence. It was only after my daughter filed a BBB complaint and posted a review that they acknowledged any of this, and even then, their response only mentioned one of the four problems and offered no compensation whatsoever. Before booking, we were told there was a larger gate entrance that could be used, but after booking we were informed that was not an option. This took away from the private and traditional ceremony entrance experience we believed we were reserving. They were also asked to select dishes and glassware during planning, only to later be told those selections were not guaranteed if needed for the larger Barn or Garden weddings. Additional décor restrictions were also disclosed after booking, including that candles could only be used if rented directly through the venue, and we were not permitted to modify the sweetheart table setup. Unfortunately, despite these concerns and the lack of upfront transparency regarding several operational details, Saxon Manor is still keeping our $1,600 deposit. Our wedding at Saxon Manor was beautiful, but it was unfortunately overshadowed by major catering issues and how the owner, Greg, handled them afterward. Food was one of the most important factors when choosing our venue. I specifically asked about older reviews mentioning poor food quality and was assured those issues were from years ago. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We attended two tastings. The first with the former chef was very disappointing, but the venue encouraged us to try again because a new chef would be taking over. The second tasting met our expectations, and I completed and emailed our finalized menu selections to the new chef and reconfirmed them again by email. Greg was aware of this because he helped me schedule the second tasting and checked to see how the tasting went. At the wedding, the food served did not match the menu we selected and paid for. The salmon entrée and au gratin potatoes we ordered were never served. Instead we were given green beans (which we never selected and frankly tasted terrible) and a chicken entrée instead of the salmon. There was also not enough food. The chicken satay appetizers ran out early, and many guests later told us they never received any. All of our guests had traveled from out of state to celebrate with us, and in our culture serving good food and plenty of it is extremely important. This was humiliating for us as hosts. Guests also told us they felt uncomfortable asking for more food because staff seemed reluctant to provide additional servings. To their credit, Danielle and the evening manager Nick were very apologetic the night of the wedding and acknowledged the mistake. After the wedding, Greg explained that our finalized menu had never been placed in the event file and staff instead used an earlier incomplete form meant for 40 guests, even though our confirmed count was 75 guests. This likely explains why food ran out. However, when my mother tried to discuss the issue with Greg, he became hostile and accused her of "playing him" simply for pointing out that serving the wrong menu was a breach of contract. The call became so unpleasant that she ended it and requested all further communication be in writing. She followed up by email requesting compensation for the catering errors. It has now been three months and Greg has never responded. The way this was handled afterward was honestly worse than the mistake itself. Mistakes can happen, but the response we received was rude and dismissive, rather than apologetic or solution-oriented. The venue itself is beautiful, but the food failures and the owner's response afterward left a very disappointing final impression. I'm sharing this so future couples are aware -- if something goes wrong, it does not appear Saxon Manor will take accountability. read more

Stopped in to see what they had. It's actually a place where you can dine. They were serving lunch when we arrived. We browsed the front area where they sold candles and other gift type items. We were never once greeted by staff despite browsing in the front of the place. Really pretty when you walk in and see the lit tree. read more

We had the best wedding at Saxon just a few days ago!! We're from California so we planned the entire thing from 2,500 miles away and our coordinator Jennifer was EVERYTHING!! Jennifer made planning so easy, she answered any questions we had and offered solutions to everything. Seriously, if you can request Jennifer, DO IT. I had so many family members tell me they'd never been to a wedding that went so smoothly. Even my parents who worked in the wedding industry for 17 years sung her praises, saying she was so on top of everything. We got married at the barn venue and it was beautiful, everything was perfect. It's so peaceful and quiet and everyone said our wedding was like a fairytale. The staff at Saxon was amazing; emails are always answered quickly, same with phone calls. Everyone is so so nice and congratulatory. It really was such a beautiful wedding and I wouldn't do a single thing differently. The food was amazing, everybody LOVED the food, the brisket especially. Get married here. You'll be so glad you did. Any decorations I didn't bring or forgot to, Jennifer had ready and made it look beautiful. Weather was great, barn has A/C, they have golf carts from the parking lot to the ceremony and reception site so barely any walking. The pavement and paths were easy for our grandparents to walk on. The lights were amazing, the bathrooms were super clean and tidy and there were 2 inside the barn and 2 in a small building right outside by the barn. read more

If you decide to book here, we recommend not using the vendors from their all-inclusive package, though Saxon will place hurdles for you to jump over (I'll review some aspects below). We held our wedding here last year, and apart from me deploying shortly after, it's taken me this long to write a review because it's so disappointing to revisit so many of the things that were messed up for such an important event. To start, we were assigned Linda who was initially so responsive/helpful on a call, and made all these recommendations to include our colors, making a pintrest account, and the layout of the barn (in other people's first dance photos, they're dancing next to the buffet). She then proceeded to not respond for months on end, then lied about responses to which we had to provide email evidence to her boss, instead of her owning up to it. When we had our in-person meeting, the colors she had recommended, that we then based our bridal party on, were not even available. She wanted to piece-meal various shades of the rags she had on hand. They were also extremely rigid on the most silly things, like they had only ONE option for chair decorations. Leading up to the rehearsal, we were offered to swap Linda out, and were extremely grateful to not have to work with her further. Our rehearsal was smooth, but as I was staring at the weather all week, we asked to go over the indoor plan. The coordinator said "oh no, we're not going to worry about that," which was intended to be reassuring, but extremely dismissive, especially when looking at weather is critical to my job. Sure enough, on the day, they had to scramble to rearrange the barn to hold the ceremony. Had we been able to review the plan, we would've been able to save the poor day-of staff A LOT of work. On that note, the day-of staff was the best part of the Saxon staff, and I am still extremely grateful to the woman that was willing to hold my dress while standing in the rain. Additionally, the BEST PHOTO (utilizing the up-lighting, leading lines, and centered) we have of our wedding is from one of the staff's phones that they snapped from the head table during our first dance. For the actual photographer (Orange Street): We're still hoping to get the raw photos from her so that we can edit the photos ourselves. I have NO pictures of myself (that don't have a blurry hand in them) walking down the aisle (as the bride), NO pictures of our bridal party at the altar, NO family pictures that are centered, and I actually forgot what our wedding colors were because the photographer's "editing" apparently only involves putting a sepia filter over ALL pictures. Even with the lack of editing, it took us 6 months to get the photos. For the bartending: they gave away our priciest wine that was supposed to be set aside for the bridal party, and did not let us know they did not have white wine. Photo booth: We coordinated with DJ Ricky. He sent his niece or someone that the guests commented looked frustrated to be there, left for long periods of time, and 2 people received the texted pictures after many input their number. DJ (Beazy): This was the most disappointing for me as I had highlighted my priority was the music and dancing for the evening. Nobody could hear at the front of the barn due to his speaker set up, the "dancing on a cloud" we paid a could extra hundred for lasted less than a third of our first dance, and our entry song was botched. He played the wrong song for the cake cutting and didn't play our final song. He did not know what the "Couples Dance" was so everyone piled onto the dance floor and awkwardly remained, never getting cleared off. He also played NO slow dance songs, and played requests like Tracy Chapman after we checked the box for him to ask us about on-the-day requests. The biggest tip I have if you have your event here is that you have to specifically ask to have speakers set up outside so that your guests can hear announcements (some people missed our first dance and cake cutting because nobody knew he moved the speakers inside. The food: I think we had Tony? He wasn't actually there on the day. My husband had to let them know they needed to finish heating the ice cold roast beef. The cake: DON'T use Cupcake Heaven. The owner works really hard to take down negative reviews so don't be deceived reading the few positives. She decided (because she hadn't ordered the right ones) to not tell us, but serve the cupcakes without the tulips so the cake stand looked like it could've been a child's birthday party. The cake was also dry and you could taste that it had sat uncovered in the fridge. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I understand that "stuff" happens, and have an above average attention to detail, but Saxon and their vendors seemed to count on clients accepting bare minimum effort. I had to keep checking in with people to ensure I was not being a bridezilla, and was assured I was NOT asking for too much. read more

I was the Matron of Honor at this wedding. I've never seen someone as flexible as Jennifer the Wedding Coordinator. We are a loud and chaotic lot and the bride's mother (my aunt) told me how Jennifer was working to keep everyone happy. We even threw in a flower dog (instead of a flower girl) at the last minute and she rolled with it. Note: The bridal suite has a bathroom with a shower to get ready in, ya'll! The inside of the barn was STUNNING. And for bridal party members there is a back room to set your stuff, go potty etc. They did a great job keeping it cool inside despite how hot it was for most of the day. This venue is gorgeous. I called them in May after seeing the venue in January, and they actually respected the old prices from January to start me off with a discount. They had lots of availability for me to choose from, and offer both the Shabby Chic Barn and the Garden venue. The all-inclusive package included decor, DJ, photographer, catered food (which was delicious btw), 5 hours for the reception, the officiant, and a wedding cake! I would definitely recommend fall and spring times versus what we did (summer) just because it gets so muggy. However, the ceremony area was shaded and our wedding favors were wooden fans so everyone survived. The only con I would say is the shabby chic bridal suite needs some serious A/C renovations. It's a beautiful place to get ready, but we were sweating a lot in there, even with the door shut and fans blowing. Everything else was top-notch. The food and cake was delicious, the decor was so beautiful, and I have no regrets about choosing this venue. I would recommend it to everyone because my I did my wedding in such a short time (2 months) and with a limited budget and I was able to have everything I ever wanted. Let me start by saying the coordinator assigned to us, Linda and her assistant Amy were stellar and the wedding was beautiful, but we are disappointed with Saxon's unprofessional business ethics and public professionalism. A hashtag was created for our guests to upload photos from our big day and many tagged Saxon Manor as a location in doing so and NONE OF THEM have been shared on Saxon's Facebook home page. Plus, THEIR PHOTOGRAPHER posted and tagged photos along with several posts tagging Saxon, including a beautifully done video teaser and TONS of photos. NONE OF IT is there. We see photos from several straight weddings posted, even on the same day as ours, but Saxon has apparently chosen NOT to use our incredible gay wedding as an example for their business. When we inquired why this has occurred, the manager/owner told our coordinator to tell us "I'm not feeling well and we don't post everything on every wedding." We find this communication or "explanation" unacceptable, offensive and discriminatory as we see only straight weddings on their page. So either you agree to host gay weddings and then give approval to share everything or you make a stand for bigotry if that's your deal and live with those consequences. But don't try to walk some little shady line in between. At first sight, we knew Saxon was the perfect place for us to get married. It is a well thought out venue, offering a variety of options, not only from a style perspective, but when it comes to designing details. It is a unique venue, offering a helpful one-stop-shop package. While we did bring in many additional components to elevate our wedding, what Saxon offered gave us an incredible baseline to start. We enjoyed the process of designing the cake, tasting the food and watching it come together so quickly. We had a small window of time to put a pretty complex wedding together. It wasn't without the true professionalism and expertise of Linda, that we could have pulled it off. From the minute we met her, we clicked! She's all about making your vision a reality and worked both tirelessly and effortlessly to make sure what we wanted came to fruition. All with 6 photographers and 3 videographers working in the background. Linda connected, listened, researched and executed this wedding with a million moving parts in a way that is unexplainable. Our wedding involved a live butterfly release, live music and singing, several timed tracks to fog and spark effects, the coordination of a 7-foot drag queen's four costume changes and live performances and so much more! She and her assistant Amy did it with such ease and professionalism, never breaking a sweat and always in control. She is a hugely valuable asset to the Saxon Manor staff and should be applauded for what she did to make our day both fun and flawless. I don't think you can request a coordinator, say prayers that you get Linda as your person. She's a dream! Regardless of this business not acting professionally or ethically by gratefully posting our wedding on their Facebook page as they have others, we know our guests had a blast and we celebrated our love in a way we never thought possible. At the tender age of "fidy", I have been to a wedding or two, been to quite a nice and not-so-nice venue - but this place beats them all... Calling it a barn is true, but then it's a disservice to anyone trying to picture the venue and the whole experience. The "Shabby Chic Barn" is located on Saxon Manor property with an outdoor location for the actual wedding to take place. The centerpiece of this is a huge tree that they use as a natural and beautiful backdrop for all to witness and document. The "barn" itself is decorated out of any bride's dream with lace and fabric hanging from the rafters and with chairs and centerpieces to match. The staff is super helpful, super friendly, and really go out of their way (from what I witnessed) to make the experience one to remember for the bride and groom and their guests. Our daughter chose this venue for her wedding and we never had a chance to see it before she signed the contract. We are so happy she did....they just got married this past weekend and was a beautiful event. We were in the Garden Room with about 75 guests. Our daughter wanted a Fall/Halloween theme and we are so glad that Jennifer was our Party Planner!!! She went above and beyond expectation from texting us back in minutes when we had questions to buying pumpkins & cutting down branches in the woods to decorate the archway for the ceremony. No wedding is perfect and we had a few glitches along the way but no one would have known. Jen had everything running smooth and she even took the time to take a few pictures herself and send them to us. The entire staff went above and beyond. Saxon manor and our wedding coordinator Jennifer made our wedding dreams COME TRUE!!!! We fell in love with the barn and the huge tree in the ceremony site and had booked with them a year and a half before our date on December 11th, 2021. Jennifer made sure we had EVERYTHING we needed and even went above and beyond with some of our special requests. We had a last minute change in photographers and Jennifer made this transition easy and stress free. Ronda our photographer picked up our wedding with only a 24 hour notice and we are so THANKFUL for her. She was AMAZING!!we cannot thank her enough!!!! every single guest could not stop telling us how beautiful the venue was and how great everyone that made our special day perfect was!!!!! read more

If I could give Saxon Manor and their staff more than 5 stars, I would! Their all inclusive package saved me so much stress of finding all of my vendors individually. I chose the shabby chic barn despite not being the rustic barn type, but it was absolutely gorgeous and didn't feel too country for my taste! They have beautiful decor options that made the venue the glamorous, unique vibe I was dreaming of. Linda was my coordinator and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions throughout the planning process, no text or call ever went unanswered and she made me feel comfortable in reaching out, not like a burden! The wedding day was absolutely perfect thanks to her and her assistant, Elaine. Elaine noticed my elderly grandfather at my rehearsal dinner and made sure to take special care of him throughout my wedding, she would bring him food/drinks and watch over him so my family could enjoy themselves! It was so thoughtful of her and greatly appreciated. Thank you to Linda, Rachel green (DJ), Jessica Winfield (photographer), and Greg (caterer) for giving us a perfect day. Be AWARE! And DEFINITELY do your research New Wedding Planners! First, The Venue itself is Stunning and just the right setting for a Country FARM Wedding! Great Place for Photos and it is Shabby Chic just as it states! BUT, WHEN you do YOUR FOOD taste testing, PLEASE make sure the food is NOT bought from COSTCO and just plopped in their warmers and heated up, because this is what it tasted like (no warm heart put into this meal whatsoever)! And, Make sure they give you more then a dollop of food on your plate when serving you. Because The buffet was cleaned up before you could blink an eye and back for 2nds, And, with no announcement the cake was cut, laid out with no forks, and as fast as they laid it out was as fast as it was taken away, really, before anyone had a real chance to get a slice. And, Where was the coffee? The Bar and Juice area closed up shop AN HOUR before our party was over, which, by the way (The Bar) , is outside the venue and up the hill from the Barn (not convenient at all), Ladies Please watch your step! (What do they do if there is inclement weather), Make you walk up with an umbrella? AND THE REAL KICKER IS our tables were cleared of ALL beverages including our water glasses 45 minutes before our party ended. And, when asked where our drinks got to, their reply was, they had to clean up because they had a party the next day. OK, so you do that an hour before our party is over? (is this what they do at every one of their events)? And the cake was never given out to the guest in the end. My question is, where did all the cake go, Gosh I hope it was good! And, the topper is, everyone left the event sweaty from dancing and dying a THIRST! So instead of it being a 4-hour event it is really a 3-hour event with an hour of their guest left being thirsty! Jennifer and her team at Saxon Manor was absolutely amazing! She made sure everything went so smoothly. If anything went wrong, I never noticed because she and her team handled everything! It was a great evening. I could not recommend a better place to get married!!! From the beginning Jennifer kept detailed notes of everything I was envisioning and helped make it all come to life. Booking an all inclusive venue was the best route to go! The food was so delicious, the cake was just like I envisioned and sooooo good, and the staff was so on top of everything! My friend got married in the Shabby Chic Barn in December. The Barn as the venue and the surrounding buildings were, for the most part, great/ The Bridal Party got to use on of the bridal suites. It was bright with plenty of windows to let in natural light, cute sitting ares that made for some wonderful pictures, plenty of space for the hair and makeup woman to set up, and a fridge for us to keep the food and drinks that we brought for the day cold. It was recently redone, so as beautiful as it was, it was kind of sparse. Like there wasn't really anywhere for us to hang all of our dresses. We had to hang them just on the curtain rod. The bathroom had a shower, which came in handy since some of us were walking around barefoot and ended up needing to wash our feet because the floors could have used a mop or a swifter. While we were all getting ready, the staff was busy getting everything set up in the barn. They were able to get all the tables set up with all of the decorations that we had brought. When there was a mix up dealing with the flowers getting onsite, the onsite staff was able to come up with a solution that that the bride liked better than the florist had done! There are plenty of spaces all over the property for pictures. Not to sound repetitive, but everything is so picturesque. And if you took your engagement pictures there, you can redo some of them in the all the wedding gear. The barn was beautiful when everything was set up and the staff had the evening going on without a hitch...well only one hitch...BRIDE AND GROOM! read more

Wow! What a beautiful breathtaking venue! Sophisticated and sweet! Cute, clean, and classy! These grounds are amazingly organized, accommodating, practical, and unique! We had our daughter's wedding here March 11th at 4pm at the Shabby Chic Wedding Barn Venue and my was it ever great! The ceremony was just lovely. John helped with the floral designs on the cross my husband made and their wedding arch. John did a good job in placing each flower to purposefully make a beautiful statement of love yet kept it subtle as well making you think it was always there to begin with. Our reception dinner was carried out efficiently in buffet style and super delicious! Oh and the dancing out under the stars with our energetic DJ was just so much freed up fun! I can't wait to see all our photos and videos! The few photos I've seen as a "preview" we'll they've been wildly wonderful! Think "Off in the Woods - Woodland Fairytale!" No kidding! They're gorgeous! This place is just incredible! Your photographer will love it here! From our first viewing of their expansive pristine property with Matt and Dorothea choosing a custom plan "ala cart package" using our own venders; all the way to the actual wedding evening's going out of the last guest's sparkler for the "couple's sparkler exit" - everything went smoothly and seamlessly! Dorothea and her staff have thought of everything already to make your wedding event as personal and pretty as possible! She truly aims to please! Angela made sure the wedding party knew where to get ready, had plenty of time, and that we were happy with the flow of the evening and all done not with a spirit of pushiness or demanding attitude, but one of helpfulness and care. We came up from Tampa and yes it's a bit of a drive but trust me, waaay well worth the trip! As special as this venue is - you'll want to go the extra miles! Happy couple, happy wedding party, happy venders, happy guests = happy memories! My advice - book your event here as soon as possible as you'll want to lock in your date! I recently had my wedding at the Shabby Chic barn and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a barn venue/ rustic style wedding. The staff were nothing short of amazing and extremely accommodating. My wife couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Rhonda and Dorthea putting together all of the decorations. Everything turned out exactly how she wanted it and to say it was her dream wedding is a vast understatement. Every detail was exactly as she had planned. The grounds looked pristine and made our photos come out amazing. They made everything so easy for us, all we had to do was show up and enjoy every last second of our special day. They know exactly what they are doing and were a well oiled machine, everything went perfectly. It truly has a wow factor and looked as though we spent 5 times more on our wedding than we actually did.
