My 10 years old daughter signed up for a choir lesson there, and the school only allows 2 excused absences during one semester, which I totally understand and we didn't take more than 2 absences. The school always gives out short notice for upcoming performances. When I asked them why not inform me earlier, the staff member said lots of existing students already knew, but we are new to the school, so we don't know. When we were nervous about the missing recording schedule, the staff member even said it was ok, never sounded like an issue. Recently, there is a performance coming up and the school asked kids to sign up for it. We tried our best to adjust schedules so my daughter can attend it because this is going to be her 1st performance, but it didn't work out. So here is the crazy part, right after I told the school that my daughter couldn't make it, they kicked my daughter out of the school, without any warning, without any communication. We tried to contact the school, but no one, no staff member, and no teacher answered our phone call. Our lessons are always on Sunday, and this performance is on Friday, they should be prepared that not all kids are going to make it. And this performance is not included in the semester schedule, it is an extra sign-up with extra fees. Finally, one staff member called me back and explained that the school felt the group lesson schedule didn't fit my daughter, and they think my daughter is going to miss all future performances. So they decided to ban her from the group. Is that ridiculous? If a school treats a child and family like that, how many of you would think this is a good place for your children?
