Ramen, dumplings, sushi, robots...need I say more?? This cute and quaint Japanese restaurant and sushi bar found in the Brookside neighborhood serves fresh and delicious entrees. Start your meal off with the tasty homemade crab Rangoons and dumplings. The wings are absolutely mouthwatering too! There is a robot inside of the restaurant that will bring your appetizers and sushi rolls to your table...how cool! For our entree, we enjoyed one sushi roll and two spicy ramens. The ramen was loaded with flavor, noodles, veggies, meat, and eggs. This is a great spot to go with family, a nicer friend's outing, or on a date. If you are looking for a top ramen and sushi spot in the Kansas City area, Sayachi is one place you do not want to miss out on!

My mezcal drink was delicious, the margarita was ok. Highly recommend the dumplings and edamame as appetizers. The ramen was a B- and my boyfriend rated the grilled tilapia as a A- I would recommend this restaurant, especially their happy hour menu. Lastly, the service was wonderful.

I absolutely love it here! The food is amazing, food is always fresh and delicious, if you like, or love Japanese food, you can't go wrong here! The servers are very polite very pleasant always willing to go over and beyond to make their customers happy. I love the atmosphere whether I am indoors or outdoors. They always have music playing. It's not overwhelming. It's very calming and soothing.

What's there to say about an experience that was incredibly meh. From the moment we walked in we wondered why there was only one other table with people there and from the moment we sat down we begun to understand why. The server was incredibly bad. He forgot the order, did not write it down, came back 5 min later to ask about something her forgot about the order, and then when it came out we were still missing things. In addition, the nigiri was very underwhelming while also incredibly overpriced for how small and blah it tasted.

Saw this place pop on a Yelp List of places to try and I found it a little overrated. Started with sake, miso and wings and those were the best things we tasted! Our visit was 1 year into the pandemic and tables were still limited (thank you!) so it was surprising how long the sushi took. There were maybe 8 tables inside and our sushi took close to 50 minutes. The nigiri was small, the blue crab roll was so dry but we did enjoy their special scallop roll. Disappointing. Staff was great and kept the drinks coming, during the LONG wait for fish, but our bill skyrocketed and we left hungry. Glad to see they were busy though!

Best sushi I have ever tried in KC! Literally every piece melts in your mouth! Prices are definitely not generous but for how fresh the fish is...its worth for a special day. The restaurant has a night patio in the back and extra parking. The server was pleasant but was managing a lot of customers so things were quite slow so ended up ordering less food sadly. If your wanting sushi, try this place. Its really good, but be prepared to open your wallet and have some extra time for your meal.

Food was very tasty the goyza was lovely. The Hamacha was excellent. The spicy tuna roll could have been a bit spicier and there could have been a bit more tuna in there for my taste. Love my handy sushi restaurants in brookside. Folks that took my order and during pickup they're just very pleasant.

Sayachi is a relatively new spot, and I'm glad I got to try it. They have a small happy hour menu if you're into it with drinks and appetizers and a few sushi rolls! Parking is just street parking (very limited, so make enough time for that). Atmosphere wise, It is casual, without too much fuss. Unfortunately there was a very drunk customer when we were there who kept going from table to table to engage everyone who clearly did not want to talk to him - staff didn't do much to stop him from doing so. Our server also was not very knowledgeable about the menu, but it was only his second day so I don't blame him at all! Overall, they have pretty good food, but in general their portions are pretty small compared to other Japanese restaurants Their chicken karaage was deliciously seasoned and crispy, although the portion was really small. The Sayachi ceviche was also small portion (3-4 bites) with only 4 little chips, although it was very well seasoned. Their rainbow roll has very thin fish slices on top of it - not worth the price point. I would recommend sticking to the regular maki rather than the special rolls - they do run small. They have good drinks; and Japanese beer! Hear hear! I will be back, and happy to try more of the menu.

Stopped in this evening & enjoyed their happy hour. Our server was attentive & pleasant. The KC roll & wings were really great. We will visit again!

Issey roll & ensenada fish roll. Superb!

I give this place an A++. Even though they were super busy this Mother's Day, the service and food were excellent!! They have the best crab rangoon I've ever tasted. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious. The spicy mayo sauce is out of this world good. Plus, the server was knowledgeable and full of charm. You can tell the server (Michael) loves his job, takes pride in his work, and is masterful at his craft. The prices may be a couple of dollars more than other sushi bars, but the food is incredibly fresh and well worth the price. This restaurant is now easily our favorite sushi place in KC. We'll definitely be back! They even have outdoor seating!!!!

Sayachi is a place you go for the highest quality nigiri and sashimi in KC. Fish are flown from Japan, this is the same owner as Jarocho. The authentic raw dishes are not decorative nor has tons of sauce to cover up the true freshness of the fish. This place represents what a sushi place in Japan should be. No frills, just high quality fish served in a simple presentation and traditional flavor with a hint of Mexican zest (owners are hispanic and Japanese). Service was ok, but we're just happy that they're open after what they've been through since 2020. Just be happy we have a great sushi place that cares about fish quality.

The loyal following will be always be, well, loyal. Do they need better parking? Yes Would I go if parking stinks? Also yes. Micro-brewing is entering its fifth decade in the Kansas City area. Sure, beermaking has been around since the monks were cooking up something to drink to go along with their pretzels. But because of changes in federal legislation, Americans brewing their own has taken on so many different regional and local forms. Do you like lagers and old German-style darker beer? The original colonial Americas might have your thing. Oh, you like hoppy, with piney IPAs and freshly-hopped brew? The Pacific Northwest is your jam. And so forth. And then there are outfits like BKS. There are hops on hops, with double and triple IPAs, hazy and juicy. There are the deeply boozy Belgian-style trippels, or Japanese style rice lagers, or English ales where the glass of bier has to settle before drinking. BKS is doing a little of everything and doing almost any beer really, really well. The staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about beer, making suggestions even to the seasoned or the complete amateur when it comes to beer profiles. I love me some malty beer, so darker or maybe a touch bitter resonates for me. My lovely wife goes lighter, not too hoppy, and with a little more pizzazz, so something bubbly works for her. Point is, there is something for anyone. It's dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and in good weather, open air plus a patio. You're there for the beer and you're in the right spot, so relax and enjoy.

So we loaded up and showed up one day around Noon. Ambiance was really cool. It's in the middle of some sort of progressive looking shanty-esque suburb. The kind of place that does drag queen bingo. I was right at home. Inside was college sport bar, but with a nice, huge board on the wall of all their beer selection. It Was quite expansive. Service was top notch, too. Nice server took care of us, made sure our glasses were never empty. The food came out at a good clips, and we got an unexpected bonus of free little beignet-like donuts with some delicious dipping sauces. As for food, we started off with a jumbo order of the Truffle Parmesan Hand-Cut Fries for the table. We got to choose two from their extensive list of aioli dipping sauces. Fries were good. Dusted with the perfect amounts of truffle and parmesan. And the sauces were my oh my. I recommend paying the upcharge to just try them all. I mentioned the time earlier, because we had no idea we were stumbling upon their brunch menu. Even more options to choose from! I got the Crispy Waffle Smash Burger (smashed hertzog beef patties, fried egg, smoked bacon, merkt's cheddar, caramelized onion, maple aioli, crispy buttermilk waffle). This thing was really nice. Perfect waffle, not too small, not too big, and no oily or anything obtrusive. A nice bun option. Eggs and bacon sometime get lost against giant burger patties, but with these smash patties, the extra accoutrements really stand out and make this burger really stand out in my mind. I also for the try the Smokestack Burger (smoked burnt ends, smoked gouda, whiskey bbq glaze, pickle relish, chipotle aioli & crispy jalapeño straws). Uhhh, as you can read, this thing was loaded with goodness. Fatty burger, smokey burnt ends, sweet boozy glaze, acidic pickles, and texture from that jalapeno. This was the perfect burger. I insist you order this. Overall, my research did not reveal Beer Kitchen to me, locals recommendation did. Shows that you gotta use your street smarts instead of your book smarts sometimes.
