[[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the dinning area where we had to take off our shoes. It was such a cozy fun experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd also like to add that we had the sweetest server! The staff was so nice and accommodating to everyone! The food was equally amazing. Very comforting and delicious. Everything I had was amazing, my favorite roll was the one with the avocado topping.! That one was *chefs kiss* I'll be coming back specifically for that!!

Their Menu offers something for everyone, Awesome Happy Hour Monday-Thursday till 630pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]3+ Distinct dining spaces. There are seats at the sushi bar, a regular bar area, dining room, then a more private area with semi-private tables[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We arrived after happy hour was over, so we were able to get a table in the main dining room. We ordered Appetizers, Sushi, and Entrees. Service was good, and the food was delicious. The Hamachi Kama is grilled with the bones, so it does require a little work, but the flavor is delicious. Our Sushi arrived beautifully presented on a boat. I should have kept a menu so I remembered which rolls were which as they were not reviewed when delivered. When we ordered the sushi, we just filled out the paper and turned it in. When we ordered the appetizers and entrees the server did not touch pen to paper. My friend ordered the Chicken Teriyaki, which was good ( I was surprised he was not more adventurous... ) I ordered the Pork Curry. The Dinner entrees are a full experience with soup and salad included with rice served with the entree. In the future I will just order sushi as an appetizer, so I will hopefully have room to try Desert!

I had such a wonderful experience here!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came in for a solo dinner on a Friday night and sat at the sushi bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was immediately greeted and put in an order for a glass of wine, clear onion soup, & spicy crab salad. I looked over the sushi menu and chose the special KC roll that had spicy crab inside with scorched salmon on top. It was delicious and all my fav things in a roll! I could immediately tell this was a family owned restaurant by the way the staff interacted with the customers, who were all regulars! I had some great conversations with the people seated on both sides of me that just raved about the fresh sushi and great service/staff at Jun's. It was really great to see and I will definitely be back frequently!!

Jun's has been around for a LONG time, so you know it's good to survive that long here. Popped in and sat at the sushi bar and got a few rolls. The quality of sushi here is fresh and the service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sushi bar was packed, but there were a lot of tables available in the back that were open in case you can't get a spot up front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only problem we had was the bill was off by $10 and it wasn't itemized, so unless you figure the total beforehand, it could have easily been missed. Once I pointed it out, it was corrected with apologies, but the un-itemized bill did have me a little concerned on if it was an accident or not. I'd still definitely come back, but I'm making sure my bill is correct before I leave. That was the only reason I took a star off.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We love the back room at Jun's to celebrate special occasions![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's always a great time and the food is fabulous every time. No pictures of apps but the calamari, edamame, crab Rangoon, and crispy egg rolls were great. We also started with a pitcher of warm saki which was very interesting! The BBQ Eel is rich and a favorite and the pork katsu and chicken and shrimp were excellent, too. We were happy with all of our sushi choices, they were so fresh and very balanced. Our server was over the top with great recommendations, perfect balance of checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely one of the best places for an authentic experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The place is always packed with regulars but it's pretty easy to get a reservation! Also easy for parking and getting in an out of the center where it's located.

Been coming to Jun's for years and never disappoints. Good sushi can be hard to find in the KC area but Jun's always has fresh fish. We sat at the sushi bar, which I recommend since it's fun watching them prepare everything. We ordered several pieces of sashimi and a few of the rolls with raw fish, otherwise we gave dealers choice to Johnny one of the sushi chefs. We loved everything we had, with standouts being the Toro (fatty tuna), ebi shrimp, and the hamachi crudo. Johnny did excellent job surprising us with different dishes. Service is always good and sushi is prepared in timely manner. Definitely recommend for nice date night or just any time you are wanting to treat yourself to some sushi .

Came here on a busy Friday night but got seated immediately. Aaron did an excellent job being very attentive, friendly and providing fast service. Sushi is always fresh and has a good mix of flavors no matter what roll we pick. I Like that they have a cocktail menu so we can enjoy some beverages before our dinner.

This was a recommendation from a friend who used to live in Japan and they did not disappoint. This place is super cool! We got seated in the back where we took our shoes off to sit on the mats. There are other tables and bar seating that is also available. Overall service was excellent! They were quick and readily available when we needed something. They frequently checked in on us to make sure it all tasted good. We got the mushroom and mussel appetizers. The mushrooms were a little bland. But the mussels were delicious! They were chopped up and perfectly tender and seasoned. For the entrees, we got sashimi and a couple rolls. The fish tasted fresh and the rolls were nicely put together and everything went well with each other. This is definitely our new go to spot for sushi! I'm excited to try the other Japanese dishes as well.

Absolutely a wonderful experience last night at Jun's Authentic Japanese Restaurant. We went knowing that we wanted an Omakasa style meal. Meaning that the sushi chef curates the meal off of what is best that day. This experience starts at $50.00 per person and you can go up from there. Everything we had was fresh and flavorful. It was nice to not make a decision about what we wanted to eat and how much to order. The sneaky new favorite were the "sweet" rolls at the end of the meal. They were shrimp with a sweet coconut sauce, so different.

Went here with a friend because we were craving some sushi after our workout. It was so cute inside and we asked to get sat in the back where you take off your shoes and sit on a pillow. The sushi was pretty we got 4 rolls and the crab Rangoon was good as well. I recommend going if you are in the area.

The sushi bar is the place to be at Jun's! Friendly up close service where you get to watch the sushi chefs make gorgeous plates of edible art. Lots of good roll combinations, salty miso soup and ice cold Japanese beers. Saw some fried appetizers and cold mochi desserts come out that looked mighty tasty. Perfect spot for a date night!

Appetizers were great and came out pretty quick! Our server was super nice and helpful being our first time here. This place seemed very popular, we had to wait a bit before we got a seat so I recommend to call in ahead of time. Sushi seemed fresh and rice was cooked very well. There were different areas to be seated, we got a table but wish we were able to sit in the shoes-off sitting area!

    Crab Rangoon, Gyoza, Edamame appetizers.

Their happy hour is every day 4-6, all day Wednesday, and Friday and Saturday 8-10. We ordered a couple rolls and apps. My fave was the Kansas City Roll. Smoked Salmon, with cream cheese, then they cut the roll, fry the pieces, then sliced in half. Perfection! I had had crab Rangoons a few hours earlier, so I didn't order them... but the table next to me did and I was slightly envious.... Most of the food rolls out from the kitchen on a robot trey. It's a very fun way as the robot livens up the room. Our server made the final delivery from Trey to Table. For entrees, we ended up with surf and Turf. The Gyu Don is a bowl of streamed rice topped with marinated slow cooked Beef Ribeye and Mushrooms. The Okimari Chirashi is chefs choice raw fish. We selected sashimi style, so it's on a Bed of sushi rice. My friend had the Lychee Martini which was delicious and potent.

My friends loved the cali roll & please don't get me started on the margaritas!!! They were sooo delicious! The only con was that if you don't like your food, they won't take it off your bill. My Kansas City roll tasted burnt (specifically the salmon)... it was too smoked.. but they said they couldn't do anything about it. So $12 down the drain. No replacements or anything. Even with that, I would still come back. I just know what to order now. They also have a patio which is pretty cute & a decent dining area. I recommend for a date night or a guys/girls night out!

Every menu item feels very intentional and well executed. The offerings on the cocktail menu are fabulous. Both the ube and lychee cocktails are delicious. My partner and his mom both had a sake flight, each offering was delicious and different in offering. If you like sake you will definitely find one you like with this flight! They both ended up liking a yuzu sake and split a bottle, the finish was sweet, crisp and perfect for the Kansas City heat. I started with an espresso martini, the coffee flavor was strong and sweet and I was a fan! During our meal I opted for a martini corner dirty vodka martini and as a dirty martini enthusiast I was very pleased and will continue to recommend! I finished off with a matcha martini that was sweet, creamy and smooth and paired perfectly with our tempura banana! Speaking of food, the star of the show, we genuinely had only good bites here as usual. We sat at the bar on the corner, it was a nice seat that captured the energy of the restaurant, busy but somehow tranquil. Our bartender was great as well as all the staff behind the bar and host stand! I especially appreciate the patience of our bartender, we came and ordered many rounds of small plates, (you should do the same!) and he was nothing but enthusiastic and helpful. To start we had some furikake fries and shishito peppers. There are a lot of exciting and multilayed dishes on the menu, I think these two humble sides though really pack a punch and show that everything on the menu brings it's A game. From there the food ordering escalated as everyone in my group was over the top excited. The stand outs for me were, the dry aged salmon nigiri, the toro hand roll, the crab apple roll and my group was especially blown away by the scallops and are still talking about them a week later! Noka is in my opinion, really bringing a new level of dining to Kansas City. I'm not over stating it to say it is one of a kind in this city and everyone should try to get in.

Every detail feels intentional, from the plating and presentation to the atmosphere itself. As someone who appreciates design, Noka absolutely delivers. Food-wise, there were two undeniable stars of the night: * Wagyu Nigiri (100/10) - One of the best bites I've ever had. Rich, buttery, perfectly balanced, and worth ordering every single time. * Crab Campanelli (11/10) - Absolutely incredible. Comfort food elevated to fine dining quality. If I came back tomorrow, I'd order this again without hesitation. Other highlights: * Filet (10/10) - Beautifully cooked, incredibly flavorful, and paired with perfectly prepared bok choy. Everything on the plate felt intentional. * Night Market Wings (8.5/10) - The quality was excellent. The sweet heat profile just wasn't exactly my personal preference, but that's purely subjective. If you enjoy spicy food with a lingering, slightly numbing heat, you'll probably love these. * Shrimp Tempura Roll (8/10) - Very good and executed well. * Tuna Roll (7/10) - Good, but it was the least memorable item compared to some of the standout dishes we ordered. Noka excels at creating a complete dining experience. Beautiful atmosphere, thoughtful presentation, excellent service, and several dishes that genuinely surprised us. For a special occasion, date night, or anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Kansas City, it's absolutely worth a visit.
