We were driving through Bloomfield on our way from the cottage back to Toronto and this place came up on Yelp when I searched for "coffee." The cafe itself is tucked away behind a church and has a lovely court yard. Right now, due to COVID restrictions, orders are taken through a window then patrons who are staying to eat seat themselves. I waited in line to place my order (we were looking for Americanos) but was bummed to discover they only offer drip coffee here. The lady at the window was super lovely and directed me to try across the street at the Public House for espresso based drinks. Since I didn't want to leave empty handed, I ordered a humming bird cake to go to split with my hubby on the way home. The cake itself was super moist and chock full of pineapple, pecans and coconut, all topped off with a glorious cream cheese icing - it was so good! Will for sure return when in the area again to try breakfast or brunch! read more

Rarely do I leave reviews but I feel compelled to post this review because customers should be forewarned! I live in Prince Edward County. I travel extensively. I have never been treated with such disrespect and seen such overt disregard for a customer as what I directly experienced. We waited 90 minutes for a salad that never came. The server avoided our queries twice before I had to speak to another server who told us "they ran out of lettuce" and the owner will return shortly. We subsequently left. They made no apologies. They made us pay for the miserable coffee and lemonade. Adding insult to injury, one of the owners (?) tried to dismiss my concerns thinking that I was a tourist and thus I needed to slow down. I support local businesses but I have no sympathy for what I experienced today. read more

A hidden gem! Such a cute little cafe we stumbled upon on a Sunday morning when everything else was closed. This site stays it's closed everyday but it was open:)! Very Covid-friendly as you order at the window and ring the bell when you're ready to place your order. The lady working there was incredible friendly! The patio is adorable and creates a very welcoming atmosphere. We had just eaten breakfast at our campsite but we will definitely have to try the food here next time. read more

With essential oil diffusers located on various tables, a trickling water fountain to set the mood, and gorgeous views of a cornfield, this little patio seems like it was plucked from a fairytale book. Would give five stars because the food was fantastic and the coffee was out of this world (especially coming from a coffee snob!!) but giving four stars because our food took almost an hour to arrive at our table. We ordered the basic eggs breakfast and an egg omelette with toast, so not sure why it took so long, although I did hear the owner mention to friends that she was short a cook. Definitely come here if you want the most delicious breakfast in a tranquil setting, but don't come on a fully empty stomach. read more

Such a precious cafe which transports you back in time! Lovely interiors and the best service by the sweet, bubbly lady who took our order- Joya. Must visit if you love (like me) quirky, quaint, beautiful cafes off the beaten path. Old records were playing in the background that added to the wonderful ambience. We tried the egg salad sandwich, orange pekoe tea served in the cutest tea cups ever and hot chocolate- everything was super fresh and spot on. The desserts looked great, fresh baked too even though I did not try any. Not the place if you are looking for an elaborate menu and lavish dining + they change their specials and menu quite often which I thought is awesome + they close around 4 pm I think. But if you are looking for a great experience, and a nice romantic spot to spend a leisurely afternoon or morning then THIS is the place! read more

This restaurant is consistently amazing. The staff are fantastic, and the food is really, really great! My husband and I have been to Saylor House café at least a half dozen times, and it's our favourite restaurant in Bloomfield. I only wish they were open for dinner, as well. read more

Had lunch here with my husband during an art shopping kinda day in PEC. Upon first walking in I was so comfortable and at home. Teacups line the walls and antique furniture is throughout. Everywhere you look are daily delights of baking straight from the oven. Husband has the daily special chili, I had the egg salad sandwich and special soup (curried coconut black bean and quinoa). Did not disappoint. Really enjoyed the meal here. Food came relatively quickly and was piping hot. Definitely has the "at home" feel I love on a chilly day. Will definitely return on our next trip to PEC. read more

Saylor House is my choice every time for lunch. It is not cheap but quality and service is first rate. Sometimes in the summer live music plays in the garden. My fave is the salad bowl for $12.98. In house baking and home made soups. Cash only and no licence. read more

Horrible service.... just absolutely atrocious. I visited for breakfast with my family of four and the server was rude and quite abrupt to us. We had to wait 30 minutes for our bill and we were trying to constantly wave/make eye contact with her to kindly ask for our bill. She kept ignoring us and when one of us called out to her politely she yelled at us that she was busy. I completely understand that it was busy in the restaurant but perhaps a polite acknowledgment would suffice rather than a downright cruel response. When it came to the food it was a hit or miss, she forgot one of our orders and mentioned that when we were paying the bill. We didn't want to wait another 30 minutes so we just asked for the machine. The server had some trouble scanning our card and tried multiple attempts and when we were signing on the tablet she scolded us for taking too long as others were waiting to use it. Perhaps if she hadn't ignored us for 30 minutes and then done a rain dance inside the restaurant with the machine trying to catch the wifi signal she wouldn't have be in such a rush for us to sign it. Absolutely rude! We were looking forward to a nice family breakfast instead it turned into an event where we did not feel very welcome, which is too bad as the restaurant was decorated in a welcoming manner. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I booked a room for myself and 3 friends for 1 night to celebrate a birthday and go on a wine tour. Jen reserved our room and a week later Susan calls back to let me know that she cancelled the reservation because we only booked for one night. I told her that Jen (who answers the phone and books rooms) booked it and never mentioned that and she said, very rudely, that she gave me the wrong information and thats the rule in the summer. I also mentioned that the website doesnt say anything about a minimum and she says in a huff that the website doesnt have to say it and that she is telling me now. When I was asking if there was any way she could honour the reservation she said no and hung up. THEN she calls back moments after I left a voicemail saying that I was going to inform others of her unprofessional attitude, her rude way of speaking to customers and how even though you have made a booking, she can just cancel on you with little notice. She called back and said "I spoke with Jen and she'll help me with turnover so we're fine" and I said I dont understand what that means? and she says, again, very rudely "You dont need to know what that means, we're fine!" And I said you were very rude and it has really upset me and she yells "FINE! don't stay here! Find another place!" and hung up on me. What a horrible, horrible person...After the first conversation I wouldn't have wanted to stay at her location regardless of her making an arrangement with Jen for "turnover"...whatever that means. Susan sounds EXTREMELY stressed out or crazy or BOTH but that doesn't make it ok to talk to people like she did especially when her staff booked me in. If there was a rule about a minimum, she should have properly educated her staff. It was her mistake and I would have been disappointed but not upset to have to look for a new place had she expressed that she was sorry for the booking error in a nice way rather than in a brash, rude way and hanging up on me. I don't normally write reviews but after her phone call I wanted others to be aware of how poor of an attitude this lady has. I read a couple of bad reviews on yelp and trip advisor and thought maybe it was more of a one off....but there was definitely merit in those bad reviews.
