Great atmosphere for children to learn how to play the game of baseball and learn sportsmanship.

At Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, there are several locations where you can volunteer. Just knowing that these families are being helped is a reward with in itself, and I appreciate organizations like this one. I'm going to make a commitment to volunteer more often like I used to in the past. It's been about a few days of volunteering, and I personally love the Young Terrace location. There's enough space to move around, and the guests (community) are grateful and very respectful. I've assisted with stocking and food distribution, but would love to see what's behind the scenes. Overall, if you want to give back to the community and feel amazing, check out a few locations, one may be real close to you. Sidenote: For those picking up food, there is a limit for each food category (canned goods, chicken, eggs, etc). You can have a bag full of produce. Quality is in good condition and some almost going bad, but you choose at your own discretion.

Walter is so helpful w/ the signup process and Bobby in the warehouse is amazing. Since the pandemic, my co-workers didn't get to go this year. However, I got a group from my daughter's school to volunteer. Once again, everything from beginning to end was organized and social distancing protocols were in place. Highly recommend volunteering at the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. It's fun, safe, and helps those less fortunate. Win win!

After my sister accidentally donated the wrong books, I was initially told by the store manager that nothing could be done and that the books could not be located. Unfortunately, the interaction left me feeling dismissed and discouraged. After I spoke with District Manager Raphael, he immediately got involved and asked Christina to assist with the situation. Cynthia also joined in the effort. They took the time to listen, search thoroughly, and explore every possible option to help. Raphael also allowed my family and me to assist in the search. I would also like to recognize Robert, a newer employee, who was instrumental in locating one of the books. Although I was initially told nothing could be done, Christina, Cynthia, and Robert went above and beyond to help. Thanks to their efforts, 2 of my 5 books were found and returned to me. While I was disappointed that all of the books were not recovered, I truly appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and dedication they showed throughout the process. Their willingness to help turned a frustrating experience into a much more positive one.

The clothes were color sorted and there were plenty of signs to guide you to different areas. Selection of clothes was OK, as thrifting can be a hit or miss anyways! But I appreciated how neat and tidy the store clerks kept the place. The home goods section was pretty neat. There was plenty of art work and mirrors available (I snagged a boho wood framed mirror for $10!) and cool vases and pots available. I saw a ton of home appliances and baskets as well. You had to dig through some of the shelves from people who picked through it, but there was a ton of unique items available here. Prices are fair as I got a mirror for cheap and a pot for $3. I would recommend this goodwill to anyone who likes to shop second hand!

But unfortunately this is a smaller location that does not carry a lot of housewares or electronics. The best selection of items is probably clothing, and even that was a bit light compared to other locations that I visited around the country so this may be part for the course for the Virginia area. That being said, I did get a chance to briefly check out the clothing Isles, and was not that impressed with the selection. This is definitely a location I would probably skip in the future If I was local.
