At Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, there are several locations where you can volunteer. Just knowing that these families are being helped is a reward with in itself, and I appreciate organizations like this one. I'm going to make a commitment to volunteer more often like I used to in the past. It's been about a few days of volunteering, and I personally love the Young Terrace location. There's enough space to move around, and the guests (community) are grateful and very respectful. I've assisted with stocking and food distribution, but would love to see what's behind the scenes. Overall, if you want to give back to the community and feel amazing, check out a few locations, one may be real close to you. Sidenote: For those picking up food, there is a limit for each food category (canned goods, chicken, eggs, etc). You can have a bag full of produce. Quality is in good condition and some almost going bad, but you choose at your own discretion.

However, I got a group from my daughter's school to volunteer. Once again, everything from beginning to end was organized and social distancing protocols were in place. Highly recommend volunteering at the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. It's fun, safe, and helps those less fortunate. Win win!

The Acis String Quartet is outstanding with Violinist Johnathan Spence heading up the group. The music was beautiful and they all performed above and beyond our expectations. What I love about Chilled Ponds is that there are two rinks, so you can go ice skating almost any…read moreday or anytime. They have different times so that different types of skaters can get what they want from their time on the ice. If you go to the free skate, expect to see a lot of people who can't skate well. They are a bit erratic, cling to the sides, and aren't paying a lot of attention to anyone else. There are also a lot of kids with those big bumper thingys. Chilled Ponds has a restaurant on site, so you can get a drink or a bite to eat if you get hungry. The bathrooms have tiny stalls with wide gaps in the door where anyone can watch you doing your business. So, I'd say it needs an update. Still, it has a family friendly, welcoming vibe. It's a good place to go to try out ice skating.

Was told they'd call me back in about an hour - never did. After I called many times, was eventually told don't offer party packages on Friday nights because that's somehow "not the weekend." Booking elsewhere. Would avoid this place given the poor customer service alone.
