From the time on the phone and when at my house explaining all the entriquete details of the job and materials, I knew he was the one I would hire. I first looked at the reviews and didnt see a single bad one. I know why. I had called others and even on the phone their phone etiquette was atrocious, so I didn't even bother. Being a woman, he never talked down to me, never rushed me, didnt mind explaining things to me again when I asked. He was super courteous and had a welcoming smile. I felt extremely comfortable from the beginning through the end. He completely redid my fro t steps and the concrete of my garage. I would like to see if there is a way to post before and after pics for both jobs because I truly think that can make a difference whem deciding and selecting a mason. Either way, hire Diego. His workers were also as equally nice and worked very hard. They, too, arw to be commended for their work. The prices were also very reasonable. I had other estimate and it was way too high. The wall started to lean slightly within 5 years as it was not built with drainage in mind. This time around, I wanted the retaining wall build the right way. I called Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping to get an estimate because I prefer someone local and was pleased with their online reviews. Carlos arrived as scheduled to write up the estimate. He immediately suggested re-using the blocks since they seemed to be in decent condition and would save money. I met with another company the day prior and was originally planning on getting a 3rd estimate. After getting Carlos' very reasonable estimate and asking a few question regarding timeline, I approved the estimate and was ready to move forward. Just 3 days later, the work started and was finished just 4 days later with a Sunday and a rainy Monday that was a wash out. I was so pleased since this has been on my todo list for the last several years and relieved to have it done correctly. My neighbor was also pleased to get part of his yard back. I highly recommend Charles and Son Construction & Landscaping for any outdoor project. You won't be disappointed. WAY out of line for residential at $40 an inch!! Just imagine, 8 inches of snow would be $320 for a driveway and two walkways. My previous guy charged $80 regardless. Thats not the worst, they are completely unreliable. I had to call for the first storm since it was almost evening and they never showed up. The second storm, "almost blizzard" they simply never showed up, or answered my text. Going further worse, I got him my neighbor as well, perfect, two capes right next to each other. Needless to say, I feel foolish, and slighted. Stay away from these guys.
