I had some slides that were around 30 years old. Previous attempts at scanning some of them myself were not terribly satisfactory. Like with plumbing, turning slides into digital photos seems to definitely be something that has a real payoff when left to a professional. Chris did a great job of scanning over 250 slides that were 35 years old. He did sample scans of 3 of my slides first, at varying DPIs and with and without color correction, so I could see the difference. This helped tremendously in deciding that color correction was definitely the way to go. The service was fast and courteous and I am very happy with the quality of the work. We had a little over 2200 Family Slides/Negatives that needed to be scanned. They turned out soooooo nice! The colors are very much like the originals, and the resolution & detail is amazingly true to life! :o) Considering how extremely old many of the Slides/Negatives are, that's quite an accomplishment!
