Firstly, $10 for 12 hour parking (the only option they offered) when typically on Sundays parking is free (at least at the Port Orchard farmers market it is), and we only planned on stopping by for some farm fresh vegetables and sticking around for maybe an hour. There were maybe a total of 18-20 tents all selling crafts and things of that nature. We saw household plants, but nothing "farm" related. We paid $10 for parking to essentially wander off outside the Kingston ferry terminal where the majority of shops were either closed or uninteresting. I saw another Yelp review put it perfectly, "less on the farm more on the market". The live music was ok and brought about a decent atmosphere, unfortunately that was the only redeeming quality of this experience. Again, maybe it was the time of year (end of July) or maybe it was the heat. It wasn't worth the 27 minute drive nor the $10 parking when we were there maybe 15 minutes. Go to the one in Port Orchard, they actually sell vegetables and great stuff from local farmers. I didn't take pictures because it was so depressing.

A Donut truck, Some Tacos to snack on, Bread, all kinds of Fruits and veggies, Ice Cream, Plants, Arts & Crafts, saw come jewelry, a man playing some music, I even saw a lady selling Crumpets !??! Now that's something I gotta try next time. !! Every Thursday 4-7, even runs through October. Well worth the time to check it out. Cool playground in the park to keep the kids busy also !!

Subsequently, I lost some interest since I don't live nearby. While I was in Ballard on a recent Sunday, I rushed to the market to see if it was still open. Officially, it was not; they closed at 2pm. But they were still packing up. I believe they are not allowed to sell after the official closing time; I asked one vendor, they declined. The staff wants the streets to reopen as soon as possible. As I walked the two blocks, several vendors still have some items on display on their tables. With a bit of wink, wink, accidentally dropping cash on the table and accidentally taking things off the table, I walked away with goodies. I won't say what I bought to avoid anyone getting into trouble. Street parking was easy enough nearby on a Sunday.

I don't think I have seen more beautiful blooms anywhere else! I love that it was heavily focused on local small businesses, farmers, and FOOD. We stopped for a few bites along the way and were blown away every time. So good. This market is huge and stretches for a few blocks, so be sure to come early and give yourself ample time to explore. Also, with it being in Ballard, there are a ton of cool, hipster shops to browse while you're in the area.

After asking she responded "I'm too busy" and handed the phone to another associate who verified they carry the item, but wasn't sure if any were in stock and replied "we are really busy right now, can I take your name and number and we will call you back." It's been over a week since I called, and still no return call. I ended up taking a drive up there the same day I called to see for myself. We were the third car in the parking lot, so they weren't busy. The employee was behind the register on her phone in a very relaxed state. After walking around the grounds for 30 mins with no help from employees, I verified the item I was looking for was in stock but was more expensive than other local stores - also, they had very limited selection for what I was looking for. I ended up going to Lowe's and found the exact same item with a wider variety of selections at a way cheaper price, with better customer service.

They had some cute little photo areas for the kids. Little tractors for them to play on and take some pics. Their gift shop/pumpkin buying area was cute. We got two mini pumpkins for 50c. They had a little trail with pumpkins, would have been more fun if the path was cleared a little and if they had a pumpkin decorating area to add your own pumpkin for fun. They had a treats/snack area and I thought it was really cute. Mini and big caramel apples. Popcorn, chips and drinks. There were some blood (juice) bags, they are so cute, just for Halloween. When the weather is nice, it's a nice area for the kids to burn some energy running around the field. Staff was very friendly!

It is small by comparison to "big city" farmers markets but it offers a good selection and a warm social atmosphere. The website says it closes at 2:00 PM, so we arrived around 12:45 PM. We drove about 35 minutes since we don't live right in the area, and it was a bummer to find the market closing early because of wind. It was a nice day, I didn't think it was too windy my any means but OK. There are only a few booths here anyway, definitely on the smaller side of a farmers market. Still cool to check out if you're already in the area. They have nice fresh flowers, a few hand made craft and gift/goods booths, and a few food and drink booths. We stopped at Brewed by Bella Coffee Cart on our way out since a lot of other booths had to close down already. Her Italian soda and lavender lemonade saved the day! It was a sweet treat to leave the market feeling not so disappointed and good that we supported a local business. She was so kind and friendly, and her drinks are reasonably priced, and made well. Too bad we couldn't check out some of the other vendors.

They are cheaper than the supermarket eggs I used to get, and I KNOW where these eggs come from. We see the happy, healthy chickens when we visit early enough, among other lovely animals. Cliff is so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; he is always ready with information and conversation, and makes the shopping experience delightful. He tells us where products come from, how they are raised or produced. He makes sure we know what is available and tells us what we can expect to see in future. Thus far, we have only experienced this farm's beautiful, nutritious, orange-yolked eggs, but I want everything there. The price per pound for roasting chickens is, I recall, very competitive for the superb quality you can expect. I can't wait to try the beef and duck, too, and their gorgeous-looking produce. Abundantly Green also carries products from farms in the area, including Blackjack Valley's excellent milk and Stedman's honey, which I have enjoyed for many years. The store offers goats' milk, too, and several kinds of goat cheese, goats' milk soaps, and fermented veggies. Last I heard, they are working on getting set up to accept credit and debit payments. I am not sure how that is going because we always make sure we have cash. I will ask next time I have the opportunity.
