They met us upon arrival and were so friendly. Kristin walked my daughter through her first driving lesson step by step. THE HISTORICAL RINGGOLD DEPOT…read more The Ringgold Depot, built in 1850, is one of the oldest antebellum railroad depots in Georgia. The depot was once used in the Civil War as a supply point for Confederate troops. In 1862, the locomotive, "The General" passed through the depot after being stolen from the Kennesaw station in a failed attempt to disrupt Confederate operations. The chase came to an end just two miles north of the depot. After sustaining damage from Union artillery during the In 1863 battle of Ringgold, the building sustained heavy damage and evidence of the repair is apparent as it is a lighter shade than other parts of the building. I love that this building is now being used for community events such as musical performances (the Christmas show is tonight), weddings, and other programs. It is a beautiful building that has been lovingly restored, (2003). We were very fortunate today to discover a couple of employees in the building who were able to give us a bit of history about the building and how it was used. Looking at the front of the building, you will see two identical doors, the door on the left was used for "colored people" who purchased their tickets and then had to wait outside until the train arrived. The door on the right was for "whites" because it was closer to the train and of course they were allowed to wait inside of the station. The young lady providing this information mentioned that she did not like talking about this racial history and it obviously made her uncomfortable but I really appreciated her honesty and openness. It was priceless! The original doors that lead to the train have been replaced but they are covered by huge sliding structures. These structures were moved away from the door so that we were able to stand on the platform and see what it was like to wait for the train. I was surprised at how close it was. I could have leaned out and licked it! We were also given information on how items, (including the mail) were loaded on the train.

It's…read more June on a Monday and it's not too hot today so some of the critters were actually out and about. It cost me $17.95 to get in by myself with a 1-year-old. Once we were inside it was $4 to feed a giraffe, $3 to ride the carousel, $5 to ride the train, $12 for a kids meal lunch so things add up pretty fast! But if you are a large family I would definitely pack a lunch there's plenty of picnic spots. It's a lovely place to walk around for a couple hours on a not so humid day. It's all part of Warner Park so it was quite enjoyable.

And you can tell they are passionate about horses! We took our homeschool group with over 25 kids and they had a blast. It was educational and interactive. They kids learned about horse bits, horse care, tacking and so much more. The horses were sweet, gentle and we all fell in love with them. Friendly service, fair prices, and knowledgeable staff. PUPPY BUYERS BEWARE!!…read more To begin with please know the 1 star is for the breeder and not the two puppies we bought. It is of my opinion that the Jordan told us whatever she thought we would want to hear in order to sell her puppies. I have found Jordan to combative without accountability for her actions as evident in her response to my review. As part of Jordan's sales pitch she misrepresented the puppies as having been genetically passed for diseases and specifically mentioned that the parent dogs were tested for hip dysplasia. I have since learned that there is NO "genetic" test for hip dysplasia. Jordan subsequently provided a certificate showing normal testing for DM but there is absolutely NO relation between the DM and hip dysplasia. It's my understanding that most all reputable dog breeders list there mating dogs with the OFA.org database. We went to Hanson Farms with an interest in their white German Shepherds. My wife and I have not had a dog/puppy in over 20 years and at the time knew very little to nothing about what would be involved with raising puppies, 100% inexperienced. Out of concern for having a puppy (or puppies) we explained in great detail our work schedule and how we can be gone for long periods of time in a day. Jordan misled us to believe that having two puppies would be a good idea as it would keep each pup company, and further stated "that it was easier to train, behavior, potty, etc." Jordan even mentioned that she offered a puppy daycare service to watch the puppies when we have longer than normal work days. After speaking with multiple professionals -- including a representative with VCA Animal Hospital, The Tennessee German shepherd of East Tennessee, and three dog trainers -- we were told that both, having two puppies and to allow the puppies to go to her home for puppy daycare, was "BAD ADVICE," especially coming from a breeder. Apparently, part of the reason they said it was bad advice is something called, "Litter Mate Syndrome," which involves behavioral issues, dependency issues and aggression, all of what we have been witnessing between the two puppies. Jordan has discounted the litter mate syndrome as having no "evidence" to back this up. As a breeder she either knew or should have known about this as there is plenty of evidence out there but Jordan tries to focus on an article written by a dog trainer rather than facts. The Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences wrote an article regarding the subject: https://today.tamu.edu/2023/09/28/understanding-littermate-syndrome-in-puppy-pairs/ After five days of having the puppies, given Jordan's misrepresentation and learning the truth about the genetic testing, the litter mate syndrome, and after speaking with several dog professionals we took the advice of other professional dog breeders and asked to return the puppies for a full refund. It's not buyers remorse when one has been duped and misled. Again, Jordan showed no interest in the puppies' welfare but seemed to be more concerned with a so-called "policy" of a $300 non-refundable deposit. She further stated that we would only receive the difference in whatever the puppies would sell for as she seemingly had no intention of selling them for what we paid ($900 per puppy). Not until we asked for the refund were we ever informed of any non-refundable deposit, neither verbally nor in writing. In fact, Jordan required that we pay the full $1,800 up front, of which we paid. Given Jordan's lack of professionalism and what seems to be a matter of money rather than showing interest in the puppies welfare and because of the love we have for the puppies we have decided to go against the advice we were given and decided to do what we believe is in the best interest of the puppies. We believe that the puppies going back to Hanson Farms is by no means in their best interest given the circumstances and given the unkept conditions we received the puppies (dirt inside the ears, numerous worms, etc). I question how Hanson Farms can even be allowed to be a breeder. And as a result of Jordan's ill advice we will now have to spend a lot of money to deal with the behavioral issues. Lastly, when we went to pick up the puppies I met with several of Jordan's adult dogs. Their adult dogs were unruly and exhibited bad behavior, trying to bite at me or jumping on me. In fact, one of the non-parental dogs tried to attack me from behind although Jordan will not admit to this. When I later mentioned to Jordan the bad behavior of her dogs she tried to discount this as the mother dog protecting her pups and made some excuse of how her other dog was trying to hug me. I believe it is common knowledge that a well behaved dog that has been trained does not jump on people.

The park itself is a bit smaller if you are looking to do a lot of exploring Beautiful views of the water! There are areas around with a pier for fishing and where you can walk around the water. The park did have restrooms as well that were clean. Beautiful spot for some fishing, a picnic, boating, and a walk along the water.
