We had to buy produce not from the stalls of local farmers filled with fresh produce at a great price that encouraged us to venture out, no, we had to get it at Kroger. And fresh flowers from a sweet woman who runs Jaybird Farms and makes beautiful wreaths out of dry flowers, no, I had to get those at the grocery store too. Ridiculous complaints, I know, but I don't care. The Loveland Farmer's market is awesome. There's an eclectic mix of vendors from all over Southwestern Ohio. Produce, bread, baked goods, tea, coffee, knife sharpening - it's got it. Most vendors accept cards and there's a great system in place for those who don't that is cheaper and easier than getting money out from an ATM. Plus, you get to walk around licking a Street Pops popsicle which makes it all the better.

I took full advantage of this and was very pleased with how it went. Now that things are opening back up they are again doing a walk up market, but still with the option to pre-order and pickup. The vendors are quality and all very passionate about their products. They really have everything from produce, meats, eggs, dairy, plants, cheesecake, pastas, bath products, bread and baked goods and so much more! Some of my favorite vendors are Blue Oven, Five One Three Bagel, TS Farms, and Jaybird farms. Check it out whatever way you can! They are open every Saturday morning May to November from 7 am to noon, But don't arrive at noon or you will be disappointed. As their website says, with over 20 different vendors, they have fresh and organic fruits and vegetables from many different local farms. They also have organic meat, cheeses, and eggs. There are fresh baked goods and even a few great gluten free vendors!! They have local honey, local maple syrup, and even a place for fresh cut flowers. My personal favorites are the organic and local veggies, local honey, Flying Mouse local maple syrup, and the organic bacon. Once, I got some organic ham too and it was amazing!!! For people with food allergies - Lots of gluten free products. You will be amazed! Plus some free samples. You'd never know they were gluten free. I wish I could remember the name of the vendor, but one of my favorites has a completely gluten free kitchen because she has Celiac disease, so no cross contamination issues!!! For people with pet allergies, be careful. There are almost always people who bring their dogs. Also don't miss Yellow Springs Winter Farmers market - not as many vendors or variety but still worth the trip! Tips: Go early!!! You won't get the bacon or the pick of the produce if you go late. Park behind Tom's Market. Easy parking. Bring your own reusable bags. It is Yellow Springs after all. LOL. Bring plenty of cash in lower bills if possible. Ask questions. I was so happy to see Delicata squash - my favorite! I also got a bag of ginger gold apples ($5.75) - very happy to see them, as they are hard to find. There's candy, and locally made pumpkin bread. What I love most? That everything is grown or made locally. I absolutely can get behind that. Highly recommended! They are open from late May through sometime in November.
