They have reasonable prices for plants. When they are in season the peaches they bring in from Georgia can't be beaten. I tell my friends that if you were going out to the desert don't haul heavy containers of water. Instead take a half of a dozen peaches with you. First let me say tomato's were $1.99 a pound this is cheaper than Kroger. And peaches not a bad price. Service was excellent and was taken very good care of. The place wasn't huge nor did thaw have a ton of stuff, but what they did have was reasonably priced. I would come back again. Right off the road just outside Lebanon. read more

These sunflower pics were taken yesterday . Its a smallish field. free and free parking. please don't be a jerk and pick the flowers ... if you want pick some there are places that you can pay and pick what you want .. when it's free respect their property. There is a wooden cart with steps to get a higher view . . and a path in the middle. i'd drover around half the day to find a sunflower field and happy i finally found one. read more

Should be called the Black Burn. This has to be the least friendly fruit/veg stand I've ever been to in my life. They advertise that they just want you to be happy, but they make you feel like a nusaince. It's worth noting that this public attraction does not have public restrooms, another indicator that they don't want you there, not for lingering, or photo opportunities during the sunflower season, or, apparently, for buying produce. There are many other local farms where you can accomplish the same thing: buy from someone else. Next time, I will go to Shaw's or Neltner's. I'm sure they are better suited to visitors and have better service - or, at the very least, don't make you feel like you are bothering them for asking. read more

Stopped by for the first time to check out the produce. Not a lot of offerings - was disappointed, to say the least. I did buy a jar of Yoder's Cherry Jalapeño jam which was nice. Not a warm, inviting place. The cashier was curt. A smile would go a long way to make customers feel welcome. read more

I have been buying veggies from them since I moved to Ohio 17 years ago. They have the best tiny grape tomatoes I have ever tasted! Like candy! I keep them in a bowl and nibble on them all day! Wonderful stringless green beans. In the spring the greenhouses are filled with beautiful plants, great prices! And I love the fall with all the pumpkins and hay bales and cornstalks! The Black Barn is a great market and greenhouse that is found on the way into downtown historic Lebanon. When I was little, if Iron's Fruit Farm was too crowded (it often was around Halloween), we'd go down to The Black Barn to take a hay ride and pick our pumpkins out of the field behind the barn. My mom and I stopped in on Sunday, hoping to purchase some beautiful strawberries that were advertised on the sign, but were disappointed when The Black Barn was sold out of the berry. We did get some fresh asparagus and peaches, though. I had never been in the greenhouse so I checked it out, it's actually fairly large and has a huge selection of plants and a staff that really knows what they're talking about. read more

Great little market right on your way into Lebanon! You can park out front and walk right in!! For a tiny barn just off the side of the road, it has a small selection of fruits, vegetables, pumpkins, seasonal plants, treats and PIES!! Keep in mind that the pies do run out so make sure to call ahead to make sure they still have it available. Prices are high at $14.99 but this is not your ordinary pies. This are oversized in both size and taste! Highly recommend this stop since it's a quick trip in and out but if someone is looking for more, this place may not offer everything would be only downfall. read more

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and scored 4 ears of corn and 3 huge cucumbers for $3.00 out the door. They had fresh peaches, tomatoes, berries, a couple of variety's of beans, potatoes, jams and jellies just to name a few items. My name is Joann richardson I waited for at least 2 weeks to get some 1/2 runners due to sickness finally got them last week . They was the worst green bean I ever had even when breaking they didn't have a crisp snap when breaking there was so much waste to them out of a whole bustel I only got 6 qts. Very very disappointed sure was t worth the $40 I spend . Have to tell you not even the watermelon was good . Just so so disappointed I'm on a fixed income and I wanted to get my pension to get them, I spend $60 there and that would have been my grocery money . Well I have learned the hard way . Went there to buy some green beans. Found out real quick they do not like you buying in bulk (bushel). The lady at the register told me I could not buy the beans they had there (a bushel) because it would not be fair to the people that might come in later and want some. The funny thing was they were closing in a hour. I actually ask her if she would like me to take my business elsewhere. She told me no, that they wanted my business but then took the bushel I was buying and put it back at the table and told me to fill up bags LOL. The bags they gave me to use were so small they would only hold a hand full of beans in each one. I'm sure that was done to stop me from buying them. While I was bagging up the green beans she ask everybody there if they wanted any of them because if they did they needed to hurry up and get some before I bagged them up. If you go there and want a few tomatoes, you best hope they have enough for all the people that might show up that day because if they don't you will only be allowed to buy one LOL. Again, if you go there ( I highly recommend you don't) expect to be treated rudely by the workers and do not ask to buy to much because they will try and embarrass you and run you off. read more
