There is a public health crisis in the world called narcissistic abuse and the effects on children's brains is full paralysis later in life. As a trauma survivor I can tell you this business does NOT support trauma survivors when self care is exactly what survivors need and with 25 years of experience by this Doctor you would think there would be multiple articles on how he tries to save lives through his expertise, he doesn't. The spa was great 20 years ago but it is a disaster today. There are multiple reviews about Raquel but when you make and appt with her and wait 3 months she doesn't show up. Then the receptionist thinks it's okay, it's not. I asked about a surgery and the receptionist said it would be no problem for Dr Schenden. That same week I call for an appt and a lady said he doesn't do this procedure any more? Did he forget? NO he is now just money hungry, SAD, just SAD. Then she recommends another clinic without a name of a doctor, very unprofessional. I told her I was going to be late and she said it was fine so I went ahead and drove all the way down to this spa just for them to tell me that they cannot take me cus I'm late. Lena gives the best deep tissue massages, ever! I am a wedding photographer & have horrible knots all in my neck, back & shoulders. She not only got them out, but was very personable, kind, compassionate & understanding. She listened to my trouble areas & worked a hard to get them out without causing any discomfort. Ahh, Schenden's. How I have enjoyed you. Due to tons of stress from planning and an international move, I was at my wit's end. My fiance, being the thoughtful guy that he is, decided to send me for a little spa time in hopes that my nerves would calm down and I would relax. He booked me for a package that included a Swedish massage and a European facial. Having never been there before, he let the receptionist book me with whomever was available. They were great about taking a payment internationally and getting me in for an appointment as soon as possible. Schenden's is in a large office building but you wouldn't know it from the minute you walk in. It's got a relaxing and quiet environment perfect for some pampering. As soon as I walked in, I was handed paperwork to fill out and escorted to a room with plenty of tea, coffee, baked goods, water with lemon, magazines and the soothing sounds of water. I filled out my paperwork and waited for my appointment to begin. Leta came to get me. She did my massage in a room that was well stocked with high end products and a cozy atmosphere. I have been to a variety of spas in several countries. What impressed me the most about Schenden's is their ability to listen to my individual concerns and focus on what was needed. I was warm and cozy to the point of almost fallin asleep several times during my massage. Leta spent a lot of time on my shoulders and lower back, giving them the relief I needed to sleep for the first time in weeks. She has incredible strength and asks you throughout the massage if the pressure is good or if you would prefer more / less - very thoughtful. After my massage, I was greeted by Kristen who gave me my facial. I told her I wanted my skin in good form for my wedding and discussed what treatments from now til the wedding would be ideal. The facial was heavenly and the extractions were needed. I was totally relaxed, warm and comfortable and the gloves they give you to keep your hands heated are amazing. My skin was glowing so much the next few days, I received a ton of compliments. I left Schenden's having booked my next appointment for four weeks from now to continue to get my skin on the right track for my big day. I'm sad I'm moving now that I've found a medical spa I like so much and look forward to my next appointment. I recommend it highly. read more

My favorite get away :-) I've gotten many services here (pedicures, various facials, massage, etc.) and have been pleased with every visit! I normally go to Sonja for my facials and she's phenomenal. My skin has always had issues, but since seeing Sonja every month my skin is in the best condition it's ever been. I now receive compliments on my skin (this has never happened in my life)! I have been seeing nurse Raquel for about eight months. I have seen her for: Botox, filler under my eyes, collagen stimulator in my temples, and microneedling. I have absolutely loved my results from every appointment. Choosing an injector is hard. Raquel is very well educated in both medicine and aesthetics. She has continued her education over the years through trainings, which is very important to me. It is crucial to be knowledgeable of medicine, anatomy, techniques, possible complications and how to treat them. When it comes to cosmetic treatments I think it is also important to have the *eye* for it, which Raquel certainly does. Raquel is the perfect mix of knowledge, skill, and knowing what looks best on each person. Raquel is so kind, calm, welcoming, honest, and has the utmost integrity. One day I went in and requested fillers in my jawline and chin. She told me I did not need it, and suggested another treatment option. She told me to save my money and the treatment she performed instead completely addressed what I was concerned about. She saved me about $3,200. She only cares about taking care of her patients and doing what's best for each individual. Overall, my entire experience at Dr. Schenden's office and spa has been delightful. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The offices are very clean, always run on time, and carry great products. Not once has anyone ever tried to sell me anything I didn't inquire about. Their numbing cream is stronger than I have had at other offices, which is a huge plus because I'm a whimp when it comes to needles. If you are looking for someone for cosmetic enhancements, skin treatments, or just coming up with a plan to achieve your skin goals, Raquel is perfect. She listens to what your concerns are, will work with your budget, has a gentle hand when injecting, and her expertise is bar none as she's always learning and staying on top of new information and technology. I have been to two of Schenden's locations, but the Troy one is closer so that's where I go regularly. The spa itself is in a high-rise office building, but once you step inside that kind of disappears. I've had to wait for a few minutes for my appointments, but it is worth it. The waiting area is quiet and stocked with coffee, tea, water, cookies and magazines. The real reason I always go to Schenden's though, is Rebecca. She's absolutely, hands-down,the best. B-E-S-T the best. She's been waxing my eyebrows since I was a teenager and nobody has ever done a better job. They offer a lot of services here beyond waxing,mani/pedi and laser hair removal, and based on the experiences of myself, my mom and my sister, we will definitely be loyal customers. I went to Schenden's for my first microdermabrasion, I was nervous because I've never had a medical facial before but my experience was amazing.
