It…read more "Stay Away from LHR (Laser Hair Removal Skin and Vein Center) in Rochester, Michigan" DScarlett Posted 15 Aug 2012 spent $450 in 817 North Main street while researching permanent make up, I called LHR (Laser Hair Removal Skin and Vein Center) and spoke to Kristie Malanoski regarding a procedure that I was interested in. Advising Kristie that I was interested to learn more about Diana Callas' experience with permanent make-up and specifically the feathered stroke used for brows. Kristie advised me that Diana had 30 years in the business and was the creator of the 'feathered technique'. I spoke in detail, explaining that I didn't want an artist that would apply two hard lines on my face for brows therefore, the experience to the technique was vital to me. I inquired about the pictures on the internet, asking if that was all of Diana's work. Kristie, with great conviction stated it was and when asking if she could also provide me with pictures if I came in, she stated that she was certain that Diana was working on a book of her work and could show me. At the time of the appointment, Diana was in her treatment room. There was no one in the reception area to greet pts. She came in and out of the wait area- apologizing and stated she would be right with me. Two hours later, I was able to get in to see her. I waited only due to the fact that I felt that I found someone that would provide me with the permanent make up that I was looking for. During my appointment, Diana was also preoccupied with her service worker. Still not completely nervous- as she ran in and out of the room, I drilled her with questions regarding the feather technique. Showing her pictures that I had, so that she knew what I was looking for. I repeated to her- I do NOT want two hard lines on my face instead, the feathered technique. Diana went as far as to tell me a story about someone that recently came into her facility, requesting that she fill in her brow, removing the feathered look. I asked her for pictures and she showed one picture on her camera, stating that she needed to get a new camera because hers was not working properly. She assured me that she was 'good' at this and I would be extremely happy. I repeated no less than a dozen times, I do not want to hard lines. She laughed- telling me she understands completely. During our appointment- I was talking to her about the poster she had up in her treatment room of the perm-makeup, it was a copy of the example pictures she has on her site. I praised her on her work, stating that the website pictures / poster she displayed in her treatment room looked to be great work. She advised me, laughingly again- 'Oh those aren't my pictures, they are my friends that does this in California'. Our appointment time was a bit chaotic. Diana ran in and our of the room, speaking to a roofer, telling me that it's important that she gets a bad quote for her insurance company. At the end of the procedure, after both brows were applied- she looked at me and stated, 'I should have stopped on your left side but, it's ok- I will fix it at your next appointment'. She said, 'don't worry it will be fine, I don't like them because I am a perfectionist but, you tell people that your brows are a work in process'. When I looked in the mirror, I was mortified to see two hard lines. I asked her about that and she stated, 'don't worry- you are just red and when it heals, they will be what you want. One week later- the brows look the same. I phoned Diana, left a message on her voice mail stating that I was not happy. I received a call back- stating that 'it would be fine'. I have consequently, left two messages to advise her that it is not fine, the work is not what I asked for and wanted to know how she was going to rectify this. Not hearing back- I sent an email advising that I wanted a refund to some capacity as I would not be returning for a follow up treatment and the work was 100% not as she stated it would be. To date, I have not heard back from Diana or, anyone from her clinic. I was charged $450 for the procedure and am paying three times this amount to have them removed, via laser treatments with a reputable health provider. Went here for lip filler and Botox specials almost 2 years ago. I never left a review at the time,…read morebut now that I'm going to get filler and have to have everything dissolved and redone since it was so poorly placed and overfilled- Im more than a little annoyed and deciding to do so. The injector I went to ended up totally botching and unevenly placing my lip filler here. I reminded her multiple times at the consult that I didn't want the keyhole look because I saw she did that with some clients- she still gave me a keyhole (lol). Also, the top lip was bigger than the bottom and wayyy too much filler was placed on one side, so it was bigger than the other side and lumpy. She said this is how her clients "naturally swell" because of the technique she uses, and to give it a few weeks. After a few weeks, you can see in the picture that the upper left side on my lip was obviously still bigger than the right side. I went back to have it fixed and she ended up having to put more filler in the other side of my lip to even it out (yes I paid for another syringe to do this). When I mentioned how the top lip was still bigger than the bottom lip, she said that we would wait to put more in the bottom lip because she thought the top lip would even out to be proportionate as the swelling subsided (I still had half a syringe left). After a couple more weeks, I called to confirm that I wanted to come in and use the last half of my syringe that I had remaining to fill out the bottom lip to make it even since it was in fact NOT proportionate. The front desk told me that I had no remaining filler left. I reached out to the injector directly about this since she said I could come back, and she ignored me (lol). I don't mind that she messed up, we're all human and that's going to happen. I just didn't care for how instead of owning up to it, she kept gaslighting me saying it wasn't messed up and that it "looked good" and then acted like I was an inconvenience for coming in to get it fixed. Never once did I act rude or upset, and I tipped every time I went for injections and to get it fixed. (This is the first medspa that has also ever asked me to tip for Injectables). Overall, vibes were not good here and I would avoid if you're expecting professional & reliable treatment

Because when you feel like "My skin needs this" and then you have a long wait or no openings makes you put off treating your skin right. (or maybe its just me). Okay back to the scheduling of this appointment with Aesthetic Theory Detroit (ATD). I click on the tab to request appointment on yelp and I love that right away i was taken to a quick few questions what my concerns were along with a few other questions. Because when deciding on a facial it can be a bit overwhelming if you don't know what would work. I was happy that it didn't take long before i got a reply back with suggestion what facial would work based on my concerns. I got schedule for a few days later and I was on my way to having a Dermal infusion. Day of my appointment everything was smooth from the minute I walked in, I answered a few questions and then I was taken to a room where my facial started right away. It didn't take long maybe 45min total if you count the time it took me to fill out the information on the ipad, now let me tell you BEAUTY IS PAIN and this might not be for everyone but the end results is so worth. And of course consistency with your skin care regimen is a must, I saw the difference in my skin with just 1 appointment. It also helps that they take before and after pictures so you can see the progress but honestly I saw it after 1 visit. I did schedule for another one in about a month because its a PRICEY but 1's a month you can make it work because your skin will thank you. I loved how i didnt feel pressure to buy anything or like I was being given a sales pitch during my facial. 2 days after the facial I did get a few little breakout but I was told that would happen because of the treatment from the Dermal inusion. But Heather did a fabulous job and i'm looking forward to getting my skin right and the next appointment I have. If you want to try out other services they have check the website out :) you wont regret the facial

Katie is a miracle worker! I've been getting Brazilians since I was 18 and facial waxes since 13,…read moreand let me tell you, Katie changed everything I thought I knew about waxing. Those red splotches after waxes that I thought were just part of getting waxed? Nonexistent with Katie. I am genuinely convinced she is magic because I never knew a wax could be this painless before AND after! Also as a gal who has always struggled with intense ingrown hairs, ones that doctors told me could only be fixed with laser, I was stunned when Katie took the time to get all of them out and coached me on how to prevent them in the future, truly above and beyond! She's is the most thorough esthetician I've ever been to, and she creates such a warm and welcoming environment that I am actually looking forward to my next wax!

Always looking for my go to eyebrow spot. And I think I found it!…read more Booking online was super easy and simple. I have always wanted to know what was inside that building/house especially with that gorgeous curved front door. Passed it so many times on University. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.
