It's a family business and they have coached some of the best hockey players out there. Prices are extremely reasonable and results are imminent (if you practice and follow his guidance). There's a small rink inside of a barn next to a giant house. It's really cool. If you're looking to get your kids some great lessons, enroll them with Randalls. It was a Wednesday around 5pm, so the sun had already set. With the surrounding buildings and Christmas tree lighting up the area, this place makes a really great date night. Rentals are only $4 and the rink is free. It's open until March 11, 2018, so get your skating in! The only issue I had was that they didn't resurface the rink the whole 2 hours I was there which made it difficult to skate at some point. This is an amazing place, and I hope they fix that blip.

It was a little small and doesn't get Zamboni enough for the amount of carving on the ice, I suggest go early in the morning or right at 4pm when it got Zamboni at 3pm... 1pm was a terrible time to go since it was the worst, super rough. My first pair of skates were dull and I thought my skating skills went downhill but after a few laps I exchanged it for a better pair that were smooth on the ice.

This place is it, it's still retro, well maintained with polite efficient staff both on and off the rink. They have a cute little toddler corner for them to skate their little hearts out. Respectful skaters and patient by standards the few time I busted my behind. They have skate crutches for 5 bucks. It's worth it. We did a few mini private lessons then took a break for the summer and now we are back at it he is doing Learn to skate there on Saturday mornings and he has a Friday session there with Clifton park youth hockey. I love how informative the staff are. Donovan loves "Coach Matt" who has been working with him ever since my lil guy started skating. Very family friendly place not gigantic like the Clifton park arena very nice great lessons. Even though my boy isn't great at skating as he has trouble with stopping and turning. I have all the confidence that it will come in time. Highly recommend the Hockey Hut for kids who just want to learn to skate, learn to figure skate and learn to play hockey!

But we were proved totally wrong! This is a hard sport that consists​ of balance, ​strength​, ​ and endurance! They had​​ a free open house for newbies and everyone was super​ friendly and cool with all our questions. It was chilly on the ice but once you're​ getting into the lunging and sweeping your adrenaline will heat you up! This place is so cool!!…read more Of course the Olympic fever has hit everyone hard and I don't know about you....but I find curling fascinating. Some people are really turned off by it and think it's odd...but the more I've watched over the years, the more intrigued I have become. The Albany Curling Club has an open house twice per year...and I went this weekend. I have been humbled and slightly shamed during my experience...which, of course, makes me want to go back for more. Curling is a lot harder than it looks. It's a game of skill and strategy. But yes....there is a bar. And it looked pretty well stocked, too. So if you want to try out this unique and challenging sport, give this place a visit and talk to any one of the friendly, knowledgeable folks that take curling very seriously. Oh...the best shirt that I saw? "Curling is the bacon of sports".

There's a strange thing about life with kids in the Capital Region. There are tons of playgrounds, but they are almost always empty. I think kids largely play in their back yards. Otherwise they all seem to go to The Crossings in Colonie. So sometimes, you may have this long and narrow park to yourself. But that's fine. There are a lot of trees, so parents can have shade. And in the summer, there is a spray zone, where kids can come with bathing suits and cool off from the hot hot heat.

This is a great outdoor space for teens and kids. There is a separate court closer to the lake, where there are 2 basketball courts. It is an all around fun spot to relax. Skateboarders are doing jumps and olleys over various steep obstacles, showing their boards and proficiency. Some make awesome high jumps and others narrowly avoid injury. I'm Not a skater at all but my son did enjoy this park. There's no shade directly over the park to shield you from the heat so bring a hat and lots of water!
