Similarly ... about 2 months ago, I stopped by to buy mascara and asked about a concealer. The associate didn't bother asking what I was looking for--just grabbed the first one she saw and tossed it on the counter and began ringing me up. When I asked about the color, she looked at me like I was the worst kind of audacious and wasting her time... she handed me off to someone else who didn't yet have knowledge of the product they had for concealer. Then there was last year, when they snuck (and obviously charged me for) a $40 bronzer case into my purchase without informing me of the item. Then - I went for a facial where they upsold me with a "dermaplane" feature which in the end was not done with a professional tool but a plastic razor you can get at a drug store. Finally, I once got my brows laminated there and it just didn't work- like at all... and they responded with "oh yeah this service doesn't work on thicker eyebrows sometimes" end of story.... Like I'm sorry then why didn't you say that to start?? I've heard many accounts of similar experiences but I'll leave my review to reflect my experiences as the ones I've heard are already outlined in other reviews. Unapologetically dishonest is the vibe I've gotten and I just think that sucks.

I bless the day I found Robert Docksteader, owner of Scherdiva Salon in Williston. I receive more compliments then ever and am the happiest I've ever been with my hair. Robert listens, really listens to what the client wants and really, really gets it! Gone are the days of a stylist telling me what I want is wrong. This is only the second time in my entire life that I trust a stylist as much as I trust Robert. I even took my son to him and he loves his hair. Not easy for my teenager. And the Salon setting is fabulous. I feel my time is respected. I drive almost an hour to get to Scherdiva Salon and its worth it. I was also introduced to Paul Mitchell products sold at Scherdiva Salon and I've paid over three times as much for other lines of products that don't work as well as the ones sold at Scherdiva Salon. Not only that, I was the recent winner of a raffle Robert organized to raise money for World Aids Day and got a fabulous gift basket of Paul Mitchell products. There was even a product in the gift basket for my dog. Everything about Scherdiva Salon is fabulous, fun, relaxing and I walk out knowing I'm looking my best with realistic advice to continue my "look" at home. read more

If you are looking for a salon, this is the one you MUST go to. Kristin gave me a highlight, root touch-up, and a drastic haircut (below shoulders before and now it's chin length). Anyway, she was amazing!!! She changed my highlight color, and I LOVE it (my hair always picks up reds/oranges, and she gave me truly blonde highlights without the brassiness). Plus my haircut is fabulous. I was worried that my husband wouldn't like me cutting off my long hair, but he hasn't been able to keep his hands off of me since I cut it. He keeps raving about how cute it is and how much younger I look...and typically he doesn't notice anything, so it's a big deal to hear him go on and on about my hair. On top of being an excellent hair stylist, Kristin is just a pleasant person to be around (as well as the rest of the staff at Scherdiva). I was in there for 3 1/2 hours, and to me it felt like I was hardly there any time at all. They are just a great group of people. I was referred to Robert six years ago by a friend after I confessed to her that I was visiting a different Burlington area salon each time I needed a cut (with varying results). From the first cut, I was hooked. Robert is absolutely fantastic. He puts the client first and always takes care to ensure that I'm 110% satisfied with my experience. He's diligent, skilled, and a true artist. He generously sponsored me during my year as Miss Vermont 2011 and went above and beyond to make sure I was prepared for every appearance and for Miss America. Last week, I needed a last minute cut and scheduled with Kristen, another artist at Scherdiva. I was nervous to work with a different stylist, but Kristen was amazing as well! I can not recommend my stylist Sarah enough. She is absolutely fantastic. I want my hair stylist to know what's going to work with my face and hair as well as give a great cut, Sarah does both. I go in with a vague sense of what I'm looking for, she nods, asks me a couple questions about and goes for it. I have never been disappointed. She gets to know her clients well and works to fit their needs. I'm sure if I went in with a picture and specifics she'd be amazing, but I love Sarah for her ability to turn my vague idea (and likely terrible descriptions of what I want) into a cool and very flattering hair style every time. I went to Scherdiva Salon after hearing about it on facebook. I'm always looking for something new and exciting and this is definitely the place. From the moment you walk in the door you know that you are someplace special. The Salon is immaculate and you are greeted with a smile at the very beginning. My stylist Robert was very professional and took the time to explain which color highlights would look best and was patient while I made a decision. He even took the time to answer questions I had about different styling products. I especially loved the feeling of being an individual and not just a number. I signed up for Yelp just so I could give a review for Robert. I originally had been going to Jason who was also fabulous but unfortunately moved to Florida so it had been about six months since I had my hair cut. :( He suggested I try Robert so I did. I had my first haircut with him last week and I am so happy with the results. He made my hair go from dry looking and BLAH to fresh, healthy, bouncy, and beautiful. No joke. I couldn't believe my eyes when he swiveled my chair around to face the mirror! Not only does he have obvious talent for hair, but he has a great personality. I have had my hair cut twice by Robert Dockstader (owner) - and both have come out absolutely amazing!! The first cut, my hair had grown to waist length, and Robert cut it just below my shoulders, and added some soft layering, as well as side-swept bangs. The result was amazing! I loved the shorter style, and received numorous compliments on it. The second cut was a few months later, and I went in looking for a choppier, more rocked out style. He cut a few inches off, then worked his magic once again, drying and flat-ironing my hair before fine-tuning the layers. The look he created for me was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Trusting your hair to a new stylist is very scary. I first saw Robert in December of 2014. I've been a loyal client since. My hair was too dark with noticeably differing bands of color (from different products, stylist and home touch ups.) I had been told by other stylists that it would be an all-day, expensive process with no guaranteed result. Robert corrected my color and lightened the shade in one normal appointment. He has a wealth of knowledge in products and processes and goes out of his way to address your hair issues and needs. You can't go wrong with a color and cut with Robert at SherDiva. I highly recommend Robert at Scherdiva Salon. He does a fantastic job at listening to what I want and translating it into the perfect hair cut. He also loves to style hair after cutting so you always leave looking like a movie star! I originally found Robert at Indigo in downtown Burlington and then followed him when he opened his own salon in Williston. The crazy part is that you would expect to pay a fortune for his cuts but they are very, very reasonable. All positive things to say! read more

I booked out several weeks so I could get an appointment with Katie at the same time my kid was getting her hair cut. Unfortunately, Katie texted me the night before asking about rescheduling as she was ill. Normally I'd be fine with this, but I'm also leaving on vacation in a few days and my hair was just so so sad. I let Katie know this and she was able to get me booked at the same time with Britnee. I was thrilled that I was able to get an appointment on such short notice. About midday the day of the appointment I got a text asking if we could come in 45 minutes earlier than our schedule time. Not a big deal at all for us and we were able to get there on time. We were both sat right away. Now, here's where the magic really started happening. Let me just say Britnee is an absolute goddess. She had me send a picture of my current hair style and what I was looking for before hand and she was well prepared to talk about my hair and how the style would sit. She spent time with me to ask about my routine to include shampoo scheduling, morning routine, and what products I use. I opted for the extra styling add on and she legitimately too the time to teach me how to do my hair. This is what I've needed. She was so careful with every clip of the scissors and communicated what she was doing every step of the way. Now, this was without a doubt the most expensive haircut I've ever gotten for myself, but for how I feel right now it was worth every cent. Just amazing.
