I put in clothes right after the onset of my mothers passing . It takes a real toll on me even to the point of a severe depression I'm doing better now and I call the cleaners to take care of this issue. Note I do see where they had been trying to call I didn't recognize the nothing when I did call no one answered back I tried several times on February 28th I called today February 29 and spoke to a female I didn't catch your name I told her in bed I just wanted to settle my debt she want to know what phone number was tied to the dry cleaners.. I gave her my number and she in turn went on to say company has been trying for a miniature reach out and told her that I do appreciate it but I was in a bad state After giving her my she wanted to know how I wasn't answering the phone and what was the problem I told her that is neither here or there I am trying to collect my clothing she was very rude in an apologetic for her unprofessionalism I know it was my fault for leaving the clothing for so long but at this moment I was just trying to take care of my debt and she wanted a why!? what took so long ?! I must say I was shocked at the bad reviews for this cleaners!! We have used them regularly (biweekly) for over a year! We have always been happy with the service we receive from Schikel's Cleaners!! They are courteous and kind and always have your items ready when you are scheduled. I would give them 10 stars if they were available!! read more

This was the first dry cleaners I used in the West Little Rock area and I love their easy drive thru. They have always done a great job with handling my clothing. I liked the green friendly approach with sweaters too. They cleaned and carefully folded my sweaters and placed them in large easy to carry bags. read more

BE AWARE! About 1 month ago, I dropped off 4 pairs of pants to be hemmed (3 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants). I instructed them not to press any of the pants after alterations as this leaves a permanent crease in them. I took 2 pairs of jeans to be hemmed several months ago and asked them to not press them as well. Even though the nice lady that does alterations made notes both times on the receipt not to press, they pressed them anyways. The first two pair of jeans still have permanent creases on them and white lines down the front of the legs. I was disappointed but I did not say anything the first time. This second go around I made it very clear DO NOT PRESS. It was noted on my receipt. However, when I picked them up, the 3 pairs of jeans and the khaki dress pants all had been pressed and creases were very prominent down the legs. This time I brought it to the attention of management. They said they would try to get them out. After several days and a weekend, I returned to pick them up. Two pairs of the jeans were ever so slightly better, but the dress pants and another pair of jeans were still very badly creased. I'm a pretty easy customer and said I would take the two that were slightly better but the other two were not acceptable. I was told I could possibly receive monetary compensation for the two pairs of pants but the owner would first have to look at them. I was asked to provide receipts for the purchase of the two pair I wanted compensation for. I instructed them that I did not have receipts for them. I knew about how much I paid for each pair and relayed this information. They said they probably would not pay that much as I could not prove it and also because even though each pair had never been worn as I was waiting to have them hemmed, I could not prove that they were brand new. I sent them an email with links to one of the pairs of pants as they were the exact same, and a link to a comparable pair for the other. I was told that I could not take my pants until the owner came in to look at them and decided on an amount of compensation. I was told that after that, it may take several weeks for a check to arrive in the mail and that that check would probably not be for the full amount of what I provided the pants to be worth. I called today to see if I could pick up my property as the owner was supposed to come in last Friday. I was told that he had not come in and that I could not have my property back if I accepted monetary compensation for their error. It was unsettling to me to just now be presented this dilemma. My choice was to surrender my property to Schickel's Cleaners for a probable lesser amount than what I paid and then have to go out and replace those items on my own time. Not only was I going to be out money, have to give them my property, I would then have to go shopping again in hopes to find those items again. I instructed them on the phone that I would like to pick up my pants and be done with this whole ordeal. When I picked them up, I told them I didn't feel it was right that they got to keep my property. I asked what would happen if they damaged something of real sentimental value to me like a 40 year old college letterman jacket of my father's. They said if they damaged it and I wanted monetary compensation, I would have to give them the jacket! I don't see how this is fair. What would keep this business from deliberately damaging something of great value, and without proof of purchase from the customer, offering their own assed value at a much lower price, and then keeping the item for themselves? Their stance is if you want monetary compensation without receipt of purchase, accept whatever we offer, surrender your property or else you are simply stuck with property we damaged and we suffer no recourse for our incompetence. Not only is this an improper way of doing business, their customer service and demeanor was unsatisfactory. I instructed them I would not give them my items for their error. They offered store credit but I declined. Their incompetence to read the notes written down, follow customers wishes, and to provide satisfactory customer service when they make an error is unsettling. I told them I did not want store credit and both the manager Shelly and another lady both said OK. Not only did they lose me as a customer for life over only 2 pairs of pants that I wanted compensation for and to simply keep as they are both my property, they lost all the business of all of my family members and potentially many more that learn of their unsatisfactory ways. I understand people/businesses make mistakes. It wasn't the initial mistake that made this so bad, it's how this business responded and their policy that lost me and many other individuals as a customer. If you have something of value to you and you don't mind giving to them if they do something to it you specifically request not having done...DON'T GO TO SCHICKEL'S CLEANERS. read more
