As someone who has been eating here consistently for about 4 years it hurts to leave leave a one star review. After ordering some takeout about a week ago I found that my turkey bacon club was missing it's bacon entirely, and that I was missing a couple food items. After taking a photo, I thought that I might be able to show proof, upon my next return at least get the items that were completely missing. After coming back a little over a week afterwards I was informed I was not eligible to get any refund as I had not called in. Although I recognize this protocol as someone who is also worked in the restaurant business, it pains me to think that's such a small quantity food is not worth a regular customers business and satisfaction. Delicious sandwiches that are available on lettuce (no bread) - and which are actually (almost) just as tasty this way! Lots of delicious combos here, also. Our personal favorite sandwiches are the muffaletta-inspired Deluxe Original (on lettuce or, as an occasional treat, on sourdough bread) and the Chicken Bacon Smoke Cheesy (the highest protein option they have, if you're into that sort of thing, like I am). Each sandwich is made fresh to order, so you wait a few minutes for your order after placing it at the counter. The dining room is large and airy, with lots of windows and surprisingly nice-looking faux plants giving it a cheery, well-kept atmosphere. There's also outdoor dining available, under a pergola providing some shade, and even though it abuts the street, there's not much traffic there, so in milder weather (or with your pup) it looks like a nice place to sit. They also offer an incredible assortment of salads - more at this particular location than are on the standard menu. The amount of meat on the salads seems a little light to me, so you may want to ask for double protein. I also see people getting a soup + 1/2 sandwich combo, which I may try myself in cooler weather. Another plus: they have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine here, which I always love. First time at this deli since going gluten free over five years ago, and we were definitely impressed. A little pricey, if I'm being honest - especially with the upcharge on a gluten-free bun - but we filled our tummies with some GOOD food! We ordered the French Dip, Turkey Reuben, and a Kids Ham&Cheese. The buns, supplied by Udi's, are toasted and so soft and stretchy, I had to double check that our orders were gluten free! Both my and my husband's sandwiches were huge, I almost had to dislocate my jaw to take a bite They were full of flavor, and the au jus sauce is literally out of this world! It's a little salty, but so good. I had a bite of the Turkey Reuben, and I think I may be getting that one next time...I wonder if you can order it with au jus! My only real suggestion: if you're getting a gluten free bun, don't get a kids sandwich. As you'll see in my photo, the bun to meat ratio is a little silly, and my kids weren't huge fans. I think I'll just order a big sandwich for them to share next time! All-in-all, I'm super impressed, and can't wait to have lunch here again soon! read more

When my husband and I saw the Schlotzsky's sign while traveling from Greenville, we just about drove our car in the ditch from excitement. It had been at least 18 years since we'd eaten at one, and when we lived in South Dakota we ate there all the time. We knew we had to check it out. The cashier/order taker acted like she hated her job and didn't make the best first impression of the place. No smile, barely any eye contact, no thank you at the end. The sandwiches were every bit as good as we remembered. It's all about the bread. I got the French dip which was on a pretzel roll and packed with flavorful roast beef. My husband got the original, on a sourdough bun, made just how he wanted (without certain things). He also got the chicken & wild rice soup which wasn't what he was hoping it to be. Theirs is a creamy version and he was hoping for more of a broth based one, so that was a disappointment. We were pleased with the speed of service and the clean dining room. In the end, it was a very nice experience. We'll be back the next time we drive through. read more

Schlotzky's has been a restaurant chain of great sandwiches I've enjoyed visiting for over 15 years. I first tried it in Minneapolis and this location has been one of my go to places for a solid sandwich while in Greenville! My favorite sandy is a pastrami cheese on that dark dark rye bread! It's so dark it looks like a chocolate muffin but it's sooooo good! On this day I ate it with a southwest chowder soup and cracked pepper chips. Yes.... you may be thinking I'm a glutton but I had a long day of flights and travel back home! Sandwich was tasty and filling and the soup had a surprising yet good amount of cumin corn while not being too salty or creamy! Service was quick and courteous. To call Schlotzsky's a typical sandwich shop or deli is a bit of misnomer. If you're looking for your standard turkey on rye with mayo, etc., that's not what you'll get. Fairly extensive menu with dressed up offerings of sandwiches, mostly on buns, flatbreads, soups and the like. Some choices are by-store or regional. Great cookies and a few cakes, pies, plus the tie in with Cinnabon gives you options for a high calorie "snack" or dessert...Chocolate cake runs out if you don't arrive early enough. On the down side, too many of the tables weren't clean on my last visit, but overall, one of my fave spots. read more

Oh how I love Schlotskys!!! They have the best sandwiches ever!!!!!! The Albuquerque Turkey on Jalapeño bread with roasted veggies is sooooo good!! Everything else is good too but the turkey is the best. It's just something about their fresh bread that makes the sandwich taste better. I wish there were more Schlotskys around. The one on Pelham Rd in Greenville is the only one around that I know of. The one in Spartanburg was replaced with Panera. I like Schlotskys much better. Panera is ok but quite overpriced. read more

Great-tasting sandwiches! Each time we've been here, it was after church. They prioritize getting everyone through the lines fast during the rush. Their food is fresh and tasty. The prices are attractive too! Try the hot sauce that is on the drink/condiment table. It's a great compliment to the sandwich. They have partnered with Cinnabon. GET A CINNABON! Schlotzsky's until recently was just a fond memory from my carefree carby college days. Back in Athens, it used to be one of my favorite sandwich choices and I'd put their muffuletta-inspired sandwiches right up there in my all time hall of fame. I had noticed that we had a local store but my current LCHF lifestyle kept me away. Fortunately, my lovely Wife stopped by there one day recently while in the area and discovered a beautiful restaurant with a new highly expanded menu including some outstanding salads. We've started frequenting the restaurant and really like it. This location is quite nice - bright, expansive, comfortable, always spotless and very well equipped and set up - it is a definite step up from most fast food places. The menu is huge. They of course have the "original" in a few versions and a couple of sizes but then have a ton of other choices with smoked chicken, beef, etc plus flatbread pizza versions. They definitely have the best fast food salad choices I've ever seen - everything from trendy kale w/ goat cheese to classic TexMex and multiple Cobb/Chef's style choices with their excellent quality meat and cold cuts. Their dressing choice is very extensive. The large salad - served on big china plate when dining in - is huge. Full disclosure, I do occasional have cheat days once a week and we've ended up at Schlotzsky's for a couple of these to enjoy a sandwich. The "original" is as good as I remembered and the CheesySmokyChickenBacon something is really amazingly good. They have a big selection of every kind of drink/tea and if you're into the bad stuff they also serve the gamut of Cinnabon treats plus slices of Junior's cheesecake. Carbs or not, Schlotzsky's and this restaurant in particular, is definitely providing some excellent quality, extensive faster food choices in a very nice well-run setting. read more

I've been eating at Schlotzky's all over the country for the last 40 years and have always loved them. A fresh tasting, hot sandwich that is not like every other place in town - how refreshing. I am stuck in a rut, I always get the original, and that's my thing. You should try it. This location is as good or better than most of the Schlotzsky's I have visited. I've never had a bad experience here, but do understand that they could forget a part of your order like other places have for me... It just hasn't happened to me here - yet. Pro tip: Check your order before you pull away, even if people are honking at you. =) read more

Visited this store yesterday to get a nice lunch for my shut in parents (isolated due to the pandemic). I always wear a mask to protect myself and others from the spread of Covid. The store says that all employees will wear a mask as a sign of respect for their patrons. I go to the counter to place my order and the employee's mask is down below their nose. I politely ask her if she would cover her nose and mouth with her mask. She snapped back that she would, but that she would put it back below her nose when I left. She then turned to her fellow employee standing next to her and said "the customers act like they work here" as if I had no right to ask her to properly wear her mask. Schlotskys needs to up their game and train their employees! This restaurant is located in the upstate of South Carolina where mask-wearing is uneven at best. The governor refuses to establish a standard for the public good, so this employee may be confused about her responsibility. That's where Schlotskys needs to step in. I hate to say that they will do it without any more of my hard earned money. read more

Horrible experience from rude, extremely rude employees. When the cashier was asked for hot sauce, the guy just walked off, saying "we ain't got none" when the next employee handed some right over. When we moved to Florida and I saw a Schlotzsky's for the first time I was smitten with a familiar German-sounding name and had to chuckle. I always wondered what the food tasted like, but never actually ate there. Then I moved to Greenville county and saw the Schlotzsky's sign and all the curiosity flooded back at once. I had the chance to try their food three different times. The first time we met my parents there when they were in town and I ordered their tomato soup. It was hot and steamy just like soup should be, but the spiciness level was a bit too much for me (my sensitive Austrian stomach, lol). Everywhere else I had tomato soup so far in this area was never that spicy. My son received his kid pizza and I had a bite and it was bland and tasteless; not impressed. The second time the parents were in town again (I'm noticing a pattern here) and my sister wanted food from Schlotzsky's for Sunday lunch. The place was so packed I became claustrophobic and after placing my to-go order I had to get out and my dad had to bring it out. The salad was good but not really that impressive and I started to feel disappointment with the curiosity I had for all these years. I would not have chosen to go back for some time, but then we received two gift cards for my and my husband's birthdays (our birthdays are very close together) to Schlotzsky's. We decided to hang on to them in case we needed a quick dinner when cooking was not a convenient option. I tried to be more selective about my order and this time I chose the Fresh Veggie Sandwich. While the veggies themselves were fresh and tasty I think I have an issue with the bread they use. It just does not jive with my taste buds. Too bad this relationship did not work out too well. I tried to like you Schlotzsky's, but you leave something to be desired. Also, it's too bad that this location does not offer the mac & cheese menu items otherwise I may have given those a try. Service was neither horrible nor exceptional, just blah average. Our gift cards are not quite used up yet, so I have a feeling eventually Schlotzsky's will be brought up as a dinner option and it's not so bad that I would never order from there again, it just really ain't my cup of tea. read more

Have driven by this place almost everyday for 15 years on my way home from work. Today for some reason I had a calling to try it out with the wife. Not sure if it every Monday but they had a 50% off pizza sale on the 8" pizzas tonight. My wife had a pepperoni pizza and I had the Schlotzski's original in the medium size. The sandwich was very tasty and strongly reminded me of a muffaletta without the crispy bread and olive salad. I only ate half of the sandwich and asked for a wrapper and bag for the other half. Prices are reasonable, service was excellent, and the food tasted great. I will definitely not be waiting so long to go back. read more

Schlotsky's has been exceptional for over 30 years in Texas. I believe the birthplace is Austin (of course). Always clean shops with pleasant staff. The food quality never fails to please. That first bite of an Original is a delight for your tongue, just a hint of buttery toast. Then the delicious, lean meat with just enough dressing makes you look forward to your next bite. The veggies are fresh and thinly sliced, just right to compliment the delicious meat cheese and bread. You definitely want the chips, trust me! It's a good thing I live across town, otherwise I'd weigh a ton. read more

First of all this place has good food, no doubt. But the food comes with a heavy price. We were trying eat well without lots of sugar. Water cost an extra $.20. What in the world !!! We just bought a little flat bread something or another for $7.50. If you would have bought a drink it would have been close to $10. I'm a big fan of Schlotzsky's from way back. This location in Greenville is one of the nicest I've been in, in terms of vibe and decor (plus it's hard to beat a lemonade dispenser full of hot sauce!). I love the sandwiches so much that I lined up for almost an hour in the early morning cold and rain back in December to be one of the first 100 customers through the door on Customer Appreciation Day so I could get a year's worth of free sandwiches! When I went in yesterday to redeem one of them, I was told that only The Original (ham + two kinds of salami) was available as the free choice. Because I don't eat pork, this presented a problem. The young man at the register referred me to the owner, who was great. Even though they were busy (which they probably always are), he took the time to explain to me the company's reasoning on why one sandwich of the same price (the Turkey Original) cannot be substituted for another. He then went on to make an exception for me, and to work out a compromise for future visits so that I can redeem my free sandwiches without cutting into their bottom line. Now if he'd REALLY like to do me a favor, he could buy the failing Schlotzsky's in Anderson and make it as good as this one! read more

That being said the food we good - the cinnamon bun (which I cannot find anywhere else) was delicious. I will go back...the mgr owes me a meal ).
