42nd Street is located across from the Post Office inside Tea Tree Plaza Shopping Centre. I…read moreknow... mall cafe. But if you can stand eating inside a place, which is inside another place (double indoors) this here cafe is a good choice. It's a nostalgic diner type... they put an orange slice on your side salad for goodness sake! There's a younger staff, and you can't help thinking 'this would be a fun place to work as a teenager.' They're dressed tidily in collared white shirts and do a fine job. Which is unexpected... under most circumstances teenagers + Westfield TTP go together like BP and water (from the perspective of a person outside of that age bracket). Have you been late night shopping at the Plaza..? The menu is caulk full of crowd pleasers: sandwiches, burgers, all day breakfasts, etc. There's a whole section dedicated to 'Pavers' (open face melted cheese sandwiches). I ordered a Gourmet Paver. It was fantastic. All veg, with sun-dried tomatoes, pumpkin, avocado... and toasted beautifully. 42nd street came recommended to me by some Myer staff who've been going for yonks. They said it's recently changed ownership. Living up to its expectations (charming service and wholesome food) it doesn't seem like much else has changed. Solid meal option if you're in the area.

I had to buy some new work pants and asked if she would like to come to Westfield with me. She said that we could get dinner at 42nd street. I thought it was in the way to TTP but to my surprise it was a mall cafe. There's nothing wrong with his place, but there's also nothing great about it either. The decor is fairly hospital cafeteria or roadhouse looking and I couldn't find anything interesting on the menu. No liquor license either (maybe because it's in a mall?). I had a chicken parmigiana and the chicken was well cooked, but the sauce reminded me of parmies I have made when there's almost nothing left in the house... Sweat off some onions, add can of chopped tomatoes and whack it on the schnitzel with some cheddar cheese. At least when I make it at home I try to spice it up a bit with some garlic, oregano, basil or even some chili in the sauce. Also, the parmigiana was quite small and the chips that came with it were nothing special at all. Below pub standard. The salad on the side was your typical pub salad. The kind most people skip as it's an afterthought. Look, this place is probably good for their all day brekkie and wraps for lunch, and I understand that when you have 60+ items on your menu it must be a bit difficult, so I'm giving them 3 stars. I'm wondering if maybe I'm becoming a bit of a food snob, or maybe I'm just used to visiting businesses that have to try harder because they are competing with other great businesses nearby. Do cafes like this even need to exist? Are they relevant in the postmodern gourmet low food-mile burger, and organic toasted sourdough sandwich world of 2015 and beyond? I don't think so; but in saying that, I might be back for a wrap or a coffee at some point in the future when I venture up to TTP for my 3 yearly trip there.

It has only taken me a good part of a decade to dine here, eventhough I live within the vicinity. A…read morefriend who frequent this place regularly thinks it serves solid food and is good value. So, tonight we agreed to have dinner here. The club resembles more of a typical pub than a club. The menu has pub favourites like schnitzels, pizzas and steak. Access to the salad and vegie bar and soups is included with a main meal. I picked a chicken parmagiana while my friend had the curry special chicken korma. Both dishes came out in a timely manner and was really nice. My schnitzel looked small, but it was tasty and filling. I also had both the soups on offer; french onion and chicken vegetable, along with the baked vegetables, so needless to say, I was comfortably full. The chicken korma was great according to my friend, but not enough of it. Due to the club extension, the price increase to food and drinks was understandable. However, I think paying over $20 for a schnitzel is steep for a community club. I do appreciate the use of chicken breast though. The only other gripe would be the cold and unseasoned chips. They do offer a three course lunch special which I am keen to come back for. They also have another dining area, which has a limited menu, but I heard is better value if you don't care about the salad and vegie bar. From the main dining room, you could watch a game being played outside thanks to the high glass windows. Final note: not bad, but not amazing. Will return because it is close and am keen to try their weeknight specials.

The staff are attentive and friendly, the restaurant was super clean and has such a warm environment. I started my meal with a caramel milkshake, which was definitely the best I've had of this flavour! The fettuccine with creamy mushroom sauce came with a bonus personal garlic bread, which was fantastic and buttery, and the fettuccine was prepared to perfection. The only thing I won't do next time is order a second caramel shake; I felt sick for a while from overeating. (Not their fault at all, I'm taking full responsibility here.)

This occasion was before going to a movie at Tea Tree Plaza so we wanted something quick and easy. And on top of that this Primo did movie and meal deal. We all had a chicken schnitzel. It was good. It wasn't amazing, but it was satisfactory for an in and out soft of meal. In my opinion if that's what you're after in this area, this place is probably the place to go with a menu boasting with a range of different western and Italian dishes at budget prices. I think the one downfall is that the place was already quite busy and fall this evening so we seated outside on a dirty table that was not cleared for a short while with waitresses constantly missing the table to be cleared. Never mind. I would honestly come back here again if I was after a quick meal before a movie upstairs at the Hoyts cinemas ... As well as to grab myself a movie and meal deal.

I had a mixed plate of pan fried dumplings and the spicy pork and veg in particular was really good. The dumplings are soft and squishy on the top and have a crunchy base, and all of the stuffing was fresh and tasty. They have salads for five bucks, pork buns, pancakes and rice, and obviously the dumplings, which are seafood, chicken and mushroom, pork and veggies, spicy pork and veggies, and tomato and egg. The signage is somewhat confusing, it says Dumpling: $7.00. So we all thought 'what? Is the dumpling stuffed with gold?' It's actually six dumplings for seven dollars, not one. I sat on my little chair, getting my elbow knocked each time someone opened the drinks fridge, and really enjoyed the food here. The woman sitting across from me raised her eyebrows when I stood up with my empty plate, and I knew exactly what she was saying: 'good dumplings, huh?' Good dumplings indeed, lady stranger, good dumplings indeed.

If they put them on a plate with a dipping sauce you'd pay more than twice as much as an entree in a restaurant. The sushi... well... it's good... it's not stunning - they don't do the BBQ Duck Rolls that I am totally addicted to at another Sakura near by... and for some reason, their Tempura Chicken is spicy, which has caught my oldest daughter out a couple of times... but those prawn and seafood bars make up for it all. Salt and Pepper squid is good value, too :) I notice they have a Sakura Dumpling Station down near Coles, too - haven't tried it yet but I'm sure I will soon - review to follow!
