A brand new local family owned burger restaurant in the outer southern suburbs! This little place is a gem. Nic's, a restaurant specialising in gourmet burgers and American cuisine will be sure to have your mouth watering for their tasty food. As soon I saw this place on my walk back from the supermarket I knew straight away I had to go there. I ate there on the second night that they were open and the place became very busy very quickly. Whether it was from customers who wanted a takeaway meal, to dine-in customers or for those curious about this neat burger joint who wanted to grab a menu.
From walking in I was greeted with a nice ambience, but also an upbeat vibe. The walls were painted in a sleek charcoal colour which also made this place feel like a secret hideaway and adorned on the walls were posters from famous American pop-culture films (which are very fitting). The staff member that took my order was somewhat shy, but knew what she doing and nonetheless very friendly. All of the staff members I noticed interacted well with the customers and the atmosphere was very positive and welcoming.
I didn't have a particularly long wait for my food; a wait that wasn't too long nor too short. I chose a standard cheeseburger for my meal with a side of chips seasoned with Nic's seasoning coupled with some garlic-herb aioli dipping sauce. I specifically chose the cheeseburger as this is a standard burger that all burger restaurants have and whilst it is simple, it should always be made well; and this one certainly was. The beef patty was cooked at medium and the mustard and ketchup gave it a very sweet and acidic taste, with both of these elements being perfectly balanced in the burger. The pickles and red onion were raw which allowed for a nice fresh, crips crunch and for those raw flavours to mix in with the other flavours inside. There is also what is termed as Nic's sauce in the burger, and I'm yet to discover what it is; the burger is complete with a brioche bun topped with sesame seeds.
The chips were nicely cooked with a subtle crunch of the potato but nice and soft on the inside and the seasoning is delightful. The texture of the chips combined with he seasoning worked wonderfully.
The pricing of the food isn't too expensive, especially if you realise the quality of the food that you will be receiving and where the ingredients have come from. The produce used at Nic's is South Australian produce so you can be sure that you will be supporting your local produce community and you know where it's coming from and that it is of quality. Going back to the price, as I said the prices are reasonable and are akin to burger restaurants in the city. However if you live far south of Adelaide then this place is convenient and delivers the same quality burgers
To summarise, I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely being going back again. read more
