Produce department outshines any of the other grocery stores in the area. (Used to go to Dierbergs, but no more.). Also, want to commend friendly and helpful staff. They always make my shopping experience a joy. read more

Really like this grocery store. It's clean and well stocked. When you walk in the door, you are greeted by the floral department and then it feels very open as you look through the produce and deli to the back of the store. They have also mastered how to deal with large crowds of people and the checkout lanes; yes the line can get long, but they usually have every checkout lane open, it's orderly and moves quickly. I also like the Schnucks app - I use it to scan bar codes in the store of the products I'm buying and if there are digital coupons it automatically clips them to use at checkout!! read more

I was in E-ville doing some other shopping in the same strip-center that this Schnucks was located. I was planning to shop at my local Schnucks when I returned home, so I thought why not try this one since I was already here. WOW! This one is way classier than mine just a few towns away. As I shopped for my baking supplies, I was drooling over the larger and better varieties of product. There were times I actually thought I was in the other local family grocer store that begins with a D. This store just had a upscale feel to it. I was there to buy baking supplies for Irish Soda Bread and ingredients for Mint Chocolate Ice Cream. However, I did get sidetracked with their amazing meat department. I couldn't resist, grabbing a couple packages of beef. Had had multiple items, so I opted to go through line with a cashier. She was efficient and friendly and so was the bag boy. I think when I am E-ville doing other shopping, I may just make a stop here, too. read more

Ok Schnucks. Gotta knock you down a few notches today. I did not expect to go inside today and find ONE line. One line all the way to the rear of the store for the checkout. You read correctly- one line --to stand in line for a store clerk to direct waiting customers to an open cashier. There were around fifteen folks ahead of me. Fortunately it didn't take too terribly long to reach an open cashier. Just unexpected. Sure enough some brazen sap tapper just pranced his butt to the beginning of the line and wasn't stopped. What ever dude. Also, there's one way into the store and one way out. So if you're parked closer to the larger store entrance you'll be forced to exit through the rear entrance of the store. read more

Dairy on the shelves that is more than a MONTH out of date. Told the manager and he made some excuse, but nothing changed. Used the submission form to inform corporate, but never received a response. That, plus a few instances of rotting produce on display means I'm switching to Dierbergs. read more

My favorite schnucks to go to! I do see how some people might not like it as some of the other Schnucks in St. Louis because it hasn't undergone any renovations, but it is always clean, the staff is always friendly, and they have a good selection. They have some good pre made food that is good if you need to grab something and go. I also like the salad bar here! read more

I really love the new look of Edwardsville Schnucks Market. Lots of great choices and of course, the Boars Head deli selection is amazing. I am, however, very disappointed in the attitudes of the younger cashiers and baggers. My husband and I have visited two times in the last two weeks and were really surprised at how apathetic and quite frankly rude these young employees were. They acted like they were absolutely miserable and it was beneath their dignity to have to be working at all. I don't normally post such things but it's really sad to see how the younger generation has such a sense of entitlement that they are so terribly offended to have to work at such a menial position. This location charges 10 cents per bag. It is a city ordinance. Also seems like a payoff because Schnucks keeps the 10 cents per bag...so while not a lot for an individual, it is pure extra profit for the store. I mean, this is something they give away for free at other locations. It also makes their self checkouts super inconvenient. For me personally it is also annoying because I reuse plastic shopping bags for trash bags around my house. So I've been going down the street to Walmart (in Glen Carbon, no bag fee) for my groceries. In short, if you are looking to avoid this fee, hit up another Schnucks or go about a mile down the road to Glen Carbon. read more

I recently did my first curbside pickup with Schnucks. Things went well until I got home and matched up my list with what was actually received. I was missing both my chuck roast and top round roast. Had it been small items, no biggie but this was meat that I needed for the week. I ordered through the Schnucks app so I double checked my receipt and the items were listed and paid for. I checked my text messages to see if I missed something. Nope. No message from the shopper. I emailed Schnucks and called the store. I was told that the shopper was through Instacart and there was nothing they could do. What? This is their grocery store and through the Schnucks app. They double checked the refrigerator to see if my items were there. Nope. They just lost a customer. If they had good customer service they would have grabbed the items and delivered them to me with an apology. I called Instacart and they refunded the money. It pisses me off because this was the first time I used this service and it was screwed up. They can take the money from my account immediately but it takes 5-10 days for my refund. Does this mean the shopper took my food? I will not be using this service again. I'll go back to buying my groceries at Dierberg's and do curbside with them. read more

One of the better markets in the area, with plenty of options between inexpensive store brands and premium items. The produce is good and reasonably priced. There's organic milk, also reasonably priced. I appreciate the fact they stock Vernors, that I can usually find a deal on a craft beer and/or hard cider, and that the Shasta diet soda uses splenda. I don't like the fact that my favorites at the olive bar are soaked in oil, which increases the weight, but does nothing for the flavor. read more

The prices are competitive, the layout is now much better, and the employees appear to enjoy their lives. I don't know if I'm just being naïve, but if you're going to pick a grocery store to stay "loyal" to, Schnuck's is your best bet for this area. You'll save money, you'll earn rewards, you'll never fail to find an extensive beer selection, most importantly, and they have pretty much everything, but correct me if I'm wrong. What sets them apart, for me, is the bread/baked goods area in the front left corner and the deli, which has the grandest of all cheese selections, and did I mention the beer? Also, some have complained about the lack of workers in the checkout lanes, but there were a ton there this weekend. Just saying. read more

First, your remodeling is terrible. There are many bottlenecks throughout the store. Today, you had one line for checkout. This is the worst idea yet! It caused much more closeness and interaction with other people! This is the last straw. Off to find a new grocery store! read more

I would put a 0 star rating honestly if possible. I was berated and assaulted by another customer in your self checkout line for no reason other than being in his way apparently. Not only did that happen but he was extremely rude to your staff. The manager on duty on Sept 28th night shift did nothing to protect his staff or me, the customer from this. I told the manager what happened and he apologized to the assaulter due to a sob story he whipped up. He then allowed the man to make good on his promise and follow me to my car and potentially start a fight. I was in the process of calling the police when he sped off. Calling the following morning, was told that Schnucks employees are trained to be impartial and indifferent in all altercations. If you are reading this, you are not safe at these stores. If someone hurts you and an employee turns a blind eye to it, they will not do anything to kick the aggressor out of the store or call police. You cannot during this day and age tell me that there aren't better systems in place for your staff to handle aggressive customers that assault others. read more

This is really a nice schnucks. It seems like the schnucks on the IL side are known for one thing of another. The one in belleville by SWIC had a great seafood department, the one in Swansea has a better than average deli, the one in Fairview has a pretty good meat department. This one has a nice produce selection. In st. Louis the one on the hill specializes in Italian items. I wish they all were of equal caliber in all of their departments. The store is big and clean. They also have the cooking section where they sample the menus and have the ingredients conveniently located. read more

Walked into Schnuck's needing a pound and a half of deli meat and cheese, all shaved cut. After grabbing a number with 2 individuals ahead of me, I waited. At the 10 minute mark, all standing customers orders were fulfilled. Then instead of greeting, the employees catered to carrying out other orders possibly placed online? At the 15 minute mark, the youngest of the bunch mentioned she would be with everyone shortly. (Appreciated being addressed as did the line that had developed behind me). At the 20 minute mark, I explained to the employee what I wanted. 1.5 pounds total, all shaved. To which I was asked multiple times if I wanted "shaved". As it will "fall apart". This isn't my first rodeo. Finally, I watched as a total of 6 customers that arrived behind me had their orders fulfilled. Now it took until the 30 minute mark until I had my meat and cheese in hand. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to cut deli meat as it takes the O'Fallon location about 5 minutes with the same number of customers. I should have driven to O'Fallon and back, it would be a much less opportunity cost to my time waiting on a simple task. To reiterate 30 minutes for 1.5 pounds. I don't typically leave reviews, as most of mine are supporting. However, the speed, efficiency, and customer service of most at this specific store needs addressed. read more

I ordered 5 corsages for my grand nephews baptism to be given on Sunday of last. Was told by the MGM they were made on Friday and I picked them up on Saturday. I refrigerated them as directed over night and gave them to my family the next day at 9 am... by 11 am they were already turning brown.. I called shucks to tell them of the situation and they referred me back to the department mar and she has never called... I've tried now 3 times to relieve the situation and they won't even return my call.... thank you shucks for taking my 100 dollars and giving me an inferior product..... I won't be back...... read more

Good grocery store. We use Schnucks about 75% of the time and Shop n Save once in a while. Good selection and quality with competitive prices. But please, please, please, for the love of God, can you do something to address the traffic jam at the deli counter on the weekends. The line is usually around 6-8 people deep and blocking the entry way as you come into the store. It has become a running joke in our family to take bets on how many people will be waiting. I realize that it can be difficult to address all peak traffic issues and the deli location itself is part of the problem, but there should be a solution. Perhaps flexible (or faster) staffing? The employees can often be heard complaining amongst themselves about the situation. It does not reflect well on the Schnucks brand and reputation. read more

I visited this Schnucks a couple weeks ago to take advantage of their 10 for 10 specials going on. To my surprise, it was one of the best grocery shopping experiences I have had in a long time. Their deli is great. They have friendly staff and a great meat selection! (I had forgotten a writing utensil to mark off my grocery list as I went and the gentlemen behind the meat counter, Mark (I believe), was kind enough to lend me one for the duration of my shopping trip. It was a class act and true customer service. The items on special were easy to find and employees were friendly. When it came to check out, my cashier was friendly and the gentlemen bagging my groceries did a phenomenal job. I was quite impressed with my experience and plan on frequenting it more often. read more

Good selection of organic fruits and vegetables. They carry local, grass-feed ground beef from Rain Crow Ranch in the pre-packaged meat area. They also carry pre-packaged organic and/or free-range poultry and organic pork. read more

Possibly the best deli in town IMO. Love the fried chicken (the Jumbo chicken drumsticks are awesome!) and many of their side dishes. Boar's Head has awesome deli-meat but sometimes you can get a good deal on the store brand. Staff is friendly and helpful. I go there at least 3 times per week for carry-out food. read more

My son has Celiac, completely wheat intolerant. I am really impressed with Schuncks wheat/gluten free section. It is very large. They have meals, breads, desserts from many different lines. I have also noticed that they have expanded their brands to include more specialty brands. I tend to shop in those areas. Of course, the best reason to go is the employees. I have never been to a store that is so helpful. If you ask where something is, they will walk you to it (different than other stores). I hate circling a store not finding something so I really appreciate that. But, I don't want to forget to mention the huge and amazing flower bunches that you can quickly grab for a very inexpensive price. Lastly, I especially like to shop there because they help you with your groceries, bagging and putting in the car. When I hurt my back, I really appreciated their help. I didn't know that they deliver groceries, but if I had that offered years ago, I would have used that ALL the time. I was so busy with babies and toddlers, that I would have gladly paid a little extra to lighten my load. And, when I was sick from having been hospitalized that would have helped me a lot. So, hats off to them for offering that awesome service. read more

What a funny name for a grocery store! I have a dirty mind, so of course I think of the other word that rhymes with "Shnuck" whenever I come here. It's your average grocery store, however I do love the salad bar here. The produce is usually pretty fresh and there is a great selection. I also like the on site cooking demos that they do. Last weekend, one of the ladies working the booth said I'm super cute, so I guess I'm a little bias. ;) read more
