I go here on a regular bases and employees are super helpful and friendly, but today the cashier named Anthony was rude and hardly spoke a word. I even told him to have a nice day and he didn't even acknowledge I was talking to him as he handed me my receipt and still not looking at me. How rude. We just went through our first exercise in using the on-line shopping/pickup service, INSTACART at Schnucks. We've been Schnucks customers for years and will continue to shop there as needed. The issue is with the on-line service: After shopping, checkout and payment required me to give a blanket approval for INSTACART to use my personal data as long as they wanted for whatever purpose as long as they defined it as enhancing my shopping experience... To help Northern Midwesterners a Schnucks is a cross between a Meijer and Martin's. A step above Walmart with fresher meat and produce. Nice stores in St.Charles County. Good deals on meat for deep freezer when it goes on clearance. $1 deals similar to Meijer's 10 for 10. They have excellent donuts like Martin's. read more

Attitudes at this store are . The Schnucks employees are a treat! Never have I witnessed so many customers spending their money at a grocery store with no customer service. There are many other stores at which I can purchase the same products. I expect a better experience when I spend at store. I do not patronize this store any longer and suggest others follow suit as there are stores that do appreciate the patronage and will serve you. The people who work at this location are literally some of the meanest, rudest humans I've ever met. There's a lady who works in the seafood department who is short and snappy with people (could be a ME thing). The night time manager literally rolled his eyes and walked away from me as I was THANKING him. The evilness in this man's eyes distrubed me to the core. Honestly I try to avoid this location at all cost because of the way the staff makes me feel. I hate to assume it's a "race thing" however to be treated a certain way EVERY TIME I've come to this location, it's pretty clear what it is. I'll NEVER step foot in this store again. With people losing their jobs and lives daily due to this pandemic, if I were any of you, I'd change my heart and attitude. read more

I'm not very impressed by this location. I went to the meat section to get some pork steaks custom cut, and the butcher must of been a little lazy today because he didn't want to do it. He then directed me to their section of pre packages port steaks. He's like these are close to what you want, and these are cheaper. Actually no there not, they cost the same per pound. Why do they have a sign stating they do custom cuts, if they're to damn lazy to do it...... Needless to say I'll be going to Dierbergs instead of schnucks, when I'm in wentzville. I am very impressed by the Schnucks and how clean the store is. They have done an outstanding job of cleaning the store, installing shields at the check outs, cleaning the carts and keeping up with Stocking during this difficult time. The worst experience in any grocery store was here. Not a hello, a thank you, or even have a nice day... Even the cashier was rude, the deli attended even "huffed" when I asked to have fresh sliced deli meat. At $9 a lb I want it sliced my way thank you! And she gave me dirty looks the whole time. Only once have I actually had friendly service at this Schnucks. The staff rarely takes the initiative to genuinely greet you when entering the store, and most of the time if I say hello to the cashier during checkout the reply amounts to little more than a huffy sigh and some aggravated muttering sans eye contact. Friendliest stores in town? Try driving a few miles over to the lake St. Louis location and then you can actually experience some respect and a little customer service. They need to retrain that entire staff at Wentzville. The difference between the two stores is night and day. I don't even use them to pay utility bills anymore because they act so put upon at the service desk by accepting your cash and printing a receipt. And did I mention buying cereal from the Wentzville store only to notice the texture and taste was off because it past the "best by" date by a few months!?!? Cereal takes quite some time to hit that date-how long are they leaving garbage on the shelf before letting people buy it at full retail price? Sheesh! Their prices are only reasonable if you're a double couponer, the least they could do is smile while selling rotten food at full price. Yuck! Send the lake St. Louis team over to Wentzville parkway so they can clean up that trash heap of a store. read more
