Based on my personal experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm. I would not…read morerecommend working with Jill or Mark. I questioned their integrity, and they seemed to lack a moral compass. They appeared to care more about the money they were making than about the actual client. They also have billboards placed by nearly every major highway and intersection with high accident rates, which says a lot. In my opinion, that is the kind of marketing you often see from what's known in the business as ambulance chasers. COMMUNICATION From start to finish, I did not feel supported or properly informed. I initially worked with Jill, but due to poor communication and unprofessional conduct, I eventually had to move my case to Mark. In one conversation, Jill ended the call while I was still asking basic questions about where my money was going, which felt extremely disrespectful in a personal injury case where clear communication should be a priority. Most of my communication went through an assistant named Leslie, and at times it felt like I was doing much of the work myself--gathering evidence, tracking down paperwork, and helping build my own case--only to be charged for it. That was not the level of service I expected from a law firm. BILLING AND MEDICAL EXPENSES My biggest concern was how the settlement was handled and how much of it went toward medical expenses. I was charged about $1,500 for an MRI and roughly $650 to $680 for each 60-minute therapy session. In my opinion, those charges were excessive and did not reflect the care I actually received. The physical therapy I was sent to did not feel like real treatment. Much of it involved lying on a massage table and doing self-guided exercises. I was billed $300 for simple exercises like spinning a wheel and another $400 to $500 just for lying on a massage table. There was no hands-on therapy, and I was also billed for generic products as if they were brand-name items. It felt misleading, and it seemed to me that the providers they sent me to were familiar with this firm. When I questioned the charges, I was told the providers might not come to court if I challenged them. At one point, I was also told that if I kept asking where the money was going, no one might show up for me if the case went to court. I was accused of alienating them when all I wanted was to know why they were price gouging. That made me feel pressured into accepting billing practices I did not agree with, and I was forced to settle when I didn't want to. My own insurance would have covered an MRI for far less, and the lien paid to my insurance company was significantly lower than the amount billed by another provider they sent me to, which from my perspective appeared to have a business relationship with the firm. At one point, the medical charges were run up to nearly $10,000, and in reality there is no way the treatment I received should have cost anywhere near that amount. When I asked the firm to renegotiate some of the expenses, they declined. Even the first time those bills were reduced, I had to ask for it--it was not done willingly. I had to advocate throughout the entire process just to get basic questions answered and to push for any reduction at all. That made me question whether they were truly looking out for my best interests. I also had to speak directly with the adjuster myself about replacing my car, car seat, broken cell phone, and other losses because I did not feel the firm was advocating for me on those issues. SETTLEMENT PROCESS It took a full year to settle my case because I was constantly fighting for a fair outcome. The initial offer was nowhere near reasonable, and I had to advocate for myself to get it increased by $9,000. Even after that, I still did not believe the settlement was fair. I do not feel I should have had to push so hard when I was paying a 33% attorney fee for someone to advocate on my behalf. By the time everything was deducted, I ended up with only about half of the full settlement, and I do not believe the firm fought hard enough for me. OVERALL EXPERIENCE Overall, I did not feel supported or properly represented throughout this process. It felt like I had to advocate for myself every step of the way, and I honestly do not know what I paid the attorneys for. I do not feel they did a good job for me, and I wish I had gone somewhere else. It felt like the firm was more focused on collecting their 33% than on truly caring about my pain and suffering or fighting for a fair result. I was left feeling taken advantage of in multiple ways. They benefitted from my misfortune. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to ask detailed questions upfront and read the negative reviews carefully before signing anything. Don't make the same mistake I made. Update: I have never spoken to Hunter, who replied to this review. Must just want to appear that way online.

My family's experience with Gilman & Bedigian was nothing but fantastic, amazing, great, and wonderful. Well, maybe not amazing. (lol). Maybe working with an attorney can be amazing, but in my family's case, they were definitely fantastic, great, and wonderful. My mother was seriously injured in a slip and fall at the mall. The guilty parties did not want to settle directly with her, so I tracked down a super law firm with the help of a retired judge in Chicago. Gilman & Bedigian did not disappoint. From the start until the very end four years later, the entire staff was exceedingly quick to respond to all our inquiries. (Hey, we were good clients. We did not bother them every week asking for updates.) Lauren Geisser was/is our attorney. She is sharp, proficient, and just a damn fine lawyer. She is always friendly and responsive. She showed sincere concerned for my mother. The firm's staff was the same way. Jennifer, Kelsey, Anthony, and Elizabeth always took the time to address the inquiries I had. In the end, Lauren negotiated a nice settlement, but she also won a large jury verdict in Howard County. (Some say it was the largest jury verdict in that county in many years.) The firm stayed with us through an appeal in which we prevailed. Yes, it took 4 years. Part of that was because Covid shut down the courts, and they became backlogged with cases and hearings. My mother is now 94 years old. The fall was terrible. She cannot walk and can barely get from the bed to the wheelchair. It is no piece of cake for her since the fall. No attorney can change my mother's plight. However, Lauren fought like hell to see that my mother was compensated in the only way she could be...in cold, hard dollars. Thank you Lauren, Charles, Jennifer, Kelsey, Anthony, and Elizabeth for helping my mother during a time when she needed your help.

Separate medical bills: Their fee does not cover medical costs. You have to pay those yourself. Left with nothing: Once the insurance company pays out, the firm takes their huge cut first. My late husband was involved in a tragic road rage incident that I believe ultimately resulted in his untimely death. Unfortunately the perpetrator of this act was not held responsible as the victim, my dear husband, died. However, immediately after the incident we had engaged the counsel services of Ms. Ortega. Chelsea went out of her way to ensure that the incidents of that day were thoroughly documented, witnesses procured, photographs cataloged, etc. In addition, all documents needed to make sure that the events leading up to the attack, the medical care needed, and after he passed away were clearly identified. At this point our only recourse was to attempt to receive a settlement from our auto insurance company. Of course nothing could have brought him back, but the suffering he endured as well as my pain of loss demanded some sort of compensation. The process was painful, reliving the incident, reviewing the terrible photos and the discussion in general. Chelsea made sure that I was prepared through all of these meetings. Ultimately we resolved the case out of court through the mediation process. Chelsea was firm with the opposing counsel, yet her main concern was my welfare. That I was happy with the outcome. She wanted to make sure that I wasn't being torn apart by the whole situation. I'd say the office of Santoni, Vocci & Ortega, LLC will definitely help you get the outcome you desire. They want to help you!
