Their website is well organized and very, very useful. That plus the Find-A-Grave app led me to each one. The place is laid out with many looping roads, but their map is great and the sections are well-marked. There are a couple of main roads that seem to have painted stripes the same color as on the map. It's a beautiful place, even on a cold grey day. It's well-maintained, and there were wreaths on the veterans' graves, put there by the cemetery I assume, plus the usual decorations families leave. Very narrow roads and not many places to get out of the way, so probably better to come during the week like I did. On a spring weekend it might be hard to drive around, and it is huge so you will be driving. They have a bird-watching map as well as a gravesite one. There are many local notables buried here. It's a sobering, but inspiring, place.

Never called to tell me that! Over 4 months seems like a long time to do some paperwork. When mother passed away, we had a gravestone made. It took them a year to set the marker. They said they don't normally place a "stone " until they have so many marker foundations to pour at once. I think they said 100. The foundation they were referring to was a 3" thick piece of cement about 16"x 24" wide. Nothing labor intensive that I could imagine. I know it's not possible, but I could have mixed up the bag of cement and done it myself in 1/2 an hour for less than the $400 they charge

It was clear what services we needed and at what cost. The facility is very nice. They even have a room with a large TV to entertain young ones. The space can hold quite a few people for a service, and they have side rooms they can open up for even more space. The flowers we received that were purchased directly from the funeral home were very nice and stayed fresh for several days. The air conditioner did interfere with the sound system a bit, but it was simple to turn it off temporarily and it was already nice and cool anyway. The two staff members at the graveside were very helpful and respectful toward our needs and desires. I would absolutely recommend this funeral home and would use them again if needed.

Trying to think clearly during a time like this is very difficult. I had remembered when my grandparents passed away that Shaw Davis was used and I heard how great, easy to deal with and how affordable it was compared to other funeral homes in town. We choose Shaw Davis and we could it have been happier with our decision. The staff was very professional, polite and compassionate. They have packages that can be purchased which makes it super easy. However we had a very unique situation and they tailored a package to our needs. The total package was excellently priced. The viewing and service went really well. The room was very spacious and allowed for a lot of people, we also used the overflow rooms. The bathrooms were very nice, clean and also had a baby changing table. There was coffee and water for the guests. There was also a large room with a tv where little ones could hang out and play. The graveside service was perfect. There was 2 staff members that were on site to help with any needs and make sure everything was moving as planned. Sad as our situating was, we couldn't have been happier with Shaw Davis. I highly recommend Shaw Davis as their pricing is affordable, transparent and stress free.

He is kinda pricey. He had two rooms, the living room and a master bedroom - very little furniture was moved. The final cost was just under 200.00 bucks and that was with a "new customer" discount. Now getting back to to the first sentence. The carpet that he cleaned was two years old and was never professionally cleaned. The carpet did look better after he was done, but I also think the carpet needs replaced. The former homeowner put cheap carpet in the house when she put the home on the market. He was able to get out a stain that drove my S/O nuts. If one where to ask me if I would use him again, I don't know that I would unless it was an emergency in the winter where no water was being used. I think for 200.00 I could probably get a whole house done with someone else.

First of all, we were on a very tight schedule and needed to get our inspection done quickly. The inspector, Josh, came in on a Sunday afternoon and did a very thorough inspection. He talked to me throughout so I always knew what he was doing and why he was doing it. He also gave me a lot of recommendations for things to make our condo more user-friendly. He answered all of my questions and explained things to me in a way that I could understand with my very limited knowledge of all things related to the construction and inner-workings of a home. We had blocked out a time for roughly four hours but because our condo was pretty small, it didn't take Josh that long. In light of this, Josh readjusted the price so I ended up paying less than I expected. He also explained other available services but was very upfront with me about them not being necessary for my particular unit in an effort to save me money and not waste any of my time. I really appreciate that this is a company who is honest and fair and not out to take advantage of people like me who are clueless when it comes to this field. Finally, Josh was super diligent in getting home and getting our report written up and submitted so that we were able to make our closing on time. Everything easy to read and the report included very clear pictures that helped us know what steps we needed to take. If we move down the road, I'll definitely call By-Lions for the Home Inspection and will be recommending them to anyone I know who is buying a house. You couldn't ask for a better company to work with!
