I love going to my dentist appointments. The atmosphere is so peaceful.

It's only a matter of time until this place is shut down. I went to them long before they expanded and Hazem was great. After he expanded the business, everything went downhill. Appointments for cleanings book 6-12 months out. If you need a cavity filled it'll be another 8-12 months until they can fill it. When your appointment day arrives they'll call and cancel the appointment and ask for you to reschedule it....in another 6 months. I was told they were scheduling me for a cleaning and to fill a cavity and when I arrived they said "oh no, this is just for the cleaning. You'll have to book the filling separetly (after waiting 6+ months already). Thankfully, I'm not in any pain but I can't imagine what it's like for those who are. This business has turned into nothing but a money grab, unfortunately. I don't trust their "findings" and certainly can no longer trust their work. Everything is rushed. Half assed. I also brought my two kids there for a cleaning in which they had me wait over an hour. They rushed through the appointments, barely did a cleaning, and sent them on their way. They were in the chairs for maybe 6 minutes total. Unreal. And I can't wait to hear their response to this review (eyeroll). read more

Fraudulent practice sends fraudulent bills for hundreds of dollars more than the agreed upon amount. I have repeatedly tried to get them to correct their bill and they never get back to me. Wait times are 1+ hours sitting in waiting room and even longer when you get called back. Completely inept. read more

Went in for a second opinion on work that had already been done. Instead I sat in the chair for almost an hour waiting to see the dentist. After coming in to see me and explaining why I was there. He only really insisted on looking at the work I needed now and not for the second opinion I was there for. I drove from out of state and paid out of pocket for an appointment I wasn't heard at or got what I needed and to just leave more discouraged. For quality of care all they cared about is making money and getting me to go forward with 7 fillings instead of a second opinion on work I had done. read more

Initial visit for a cleaning was fine. Then I basically got blown off for appointments for additional treatments. I get the impression once they maxed out my insurance benefits they moved on. I should have paid more attention to the poor reviews this practice got. Moving on read more

8 months waiting for an appointment. ( Disabled and have Medicaid/ Medicare and told they take it).....been in extreme pain off and on all this time. Missed call for insurance...have tried for 3 days to call ( multiple times a day)...no answer, no call backs.....how can you run a medical type business with absolutely no response to your patients? read more

Today is the day before my new patient appointment. They just called to tell me the dental hygenist doesn't work after 4pm. Great so why did you schedule me for 4:30pm? Now you want me to come in earlier when I got approved in advance to leave work early at a specific time? Apparently the dental hygienist (down to 1) works 8-4 but they only look at the schedule a couple days in advance. They may not have 8am appointments. What??? I waited months for this appointment. So the search for a new practice begins. read more

I went there to get a tooth filled or pulled because of pain. I had just moved here. The very first thing they did was take x-rays. OK, different but sounds good. Scheduled for another appt. 3 months off. Odd. That appt they wanted to work on something completely different. I told them that this tooth was the only reason I was there was that tooth. Scheduled for a cleaning. Made another appt. Day before I get a phone call. Come in early? I asked this tooth right? Nope not even on my chart. After an er visit caused completely by this, I learned either they don't have an oral surgeon on staff and didn't want to pay one or it wasn't profitable enough. I will never set foot in that door again. read more

I called for a simple Cleaning appointment in early September 2025. I asked if this was a private practice, or one of these dental conglomerates. I was assured that it was a small, private practice and that I could get a cleaning without any X-rays, and multiple visits. I am amazed that I was actually able to speak with a receptionist on that first attempt to find out about Schoharie Dental and make an appt., because my experience after that day, was just the same as other reviewers that said they could never reach anyone at the office directly, but had to leave messages and wait to get a call back. I did hear from them several times prior to my appt. (which I had to wait over a month to get). They were calling me to see if I wanted to change my appt. time to, or texting me repeatedly to make sure that I was coming to my scheduled appt. I get the impression that they get a lot of "no shows". All this aside, the actual visit was horrible - first, it was nothing like a "small private practice" but definitely a "dental conglomerate". The dental chairs are lined up in rows like a hair salon with some visual barriers between each, but no actual private office spaces to provide peace and comfort to the patient. They must have had close to 50 chairs available for dental work - it was like a dental factory, and the "workers" might as well have been factory workers! My assistant hygienist may have been about 17 years old and definitely had no previous experience working with patients. He couldn't communicate to let me know what he was trying to get me to do as he was trying to jam this crazy device (completely foreign for a teeth cleaning) into my mouth. It was for X-Raying my teeth. Remember, I said I was just there for a simple teeth cleaning...was told when I made the appt that I wouldn't have to get X-Rays...not true. If you don't let them X-Ray every single tooth in your mouth, they won't do any work on you - "its against their insurance policy". There was club music playing throughout the over-populated space, making it impossible to relax or even hear the limited direction of whoever (and there were several) was working in your mouth. I have excellent hearing, and I had to keep asking them what they said to me do during the whole process. They didn't know enough to make the neck rest support my head and neck properly, so I had a kink in my neck by the time they finished X-raying me (and that took more time than the teeth cleaning! A dentist showed up for less than 60 seconds to tell me my teeth looked fine, prior to the cleaning, but never came back after the cleaning was completed to check on me. No one ever said anything about my X-Ray results, and I had a missing filling on the side of my tooth which no one ever noticed. When my cleaning was complete, I had to ask the hygienist to rinse my mouth out as it was still full of the gritty paste that they use to polish your teeth. Remember when a dental office had a spit sink next to the chair, and a cup that you could rinse your own mouth with? Not here, they use minimal water and suction it out of your mouth every few minutes - horrible! I have never been more uncomfortable at a dental appointment in my life, and I have lived enough years to have had many dental appts.. I hated every minute of being at Schoharie Dental. If this is the norm for private practices, I will be taking care of my own dental work at home! I am sure it would be more professional care than I just got at Schoharie Dental. And, did I mention that they pulled my hair with the Velcro on the X-Ray bib as they were carelessly pulling it off me? read more

Rose at the front desk is an absolutely amazing human, she always calls back with updated availability, very empathic listens and care about every patients needs. she been with the office for as long as i've been going and that's 5 years!! Every single Dr. nurse and front desk staff is diligent attentive and and empathic as they understand some people go through harder days, very high demand office and they do an amazing job juggling the needs of so many people, definitely recommend for any extensive or even one time care!! When they started out as a small office in another building they were great. After their move, their growth in business made them inaccessible to patients. It's impossible to call them and talk to anyone. This has been going on for a few years. We tried to reschedule an appointment. 20 calls, no answer, just voicemail. We left voice messages. No call back. We tried filing out their form on their website. No call back. We tried Text messages. No call back. We tried emailing. No call back. I had to drive to the office and walk to their front desk to change an appointment. There is ZERO customer service outside of walking into their building. Patients were sitting outside, on benches in the parking lot, in the sun, waiting for the appointments. As of this morning, we've moved to another dentist group. It's sad to see them go from stellar service to abysmal service in the name of expansion. read more

I had an appointment fir a cleaning they confirmed it the day before. I get there they get me in the chair and say so why are you here. So needless to say i didn't get a cleaning. If i didn't have an other issue i would have been pissed traveling as far as i do to get there. This place is like going to a chop shop. So impersonal and i have had more problems then ever going to this place. You can not get appointments to get work done in a timely manner. So yoyr teeth just get worse while you wait a month or more for an appointment. I have had to have another tooth pulled because i had a cap put in. Right after i had pain in that spot. I told the dentist i thought something was wrong underneath the cap. Instead of taking the cap out and looking he just shaves it down. This went on for 8 months later he still says he sees nothing. I finally see another dentist after giving so.e kind of infection on that side of my mouth. It's a cavity so now i have to have it pulled and now i have another missing tooth. He should have really looked the first time i had pain so maybe i would not have had to have it pulled. It's horrible this place. read more

they took 4 molds of my teeth and still didn't fit my teeth (I'm talking about a retaine)

Was able to get a new patient appointment and exam for my mother quite quickly. Went to book a filling appointment that was necessary and found it was a six month wait. The receptionist said other dentists in the building were booking out 9 months. Why take on new patients if this is the wait time for procedures? Feels like some form of bait and switch. read more

my father recently this week got his teeth pulled out from here , all they did was numb no knock out like 8 numbing shots and my father still felt the pain when the doctor kept going , they said they well send scripts over for us to pick up when we got home and their was nothing to be found had to call them twice to get a prescription filled smh the place is very beautiful but the people are disgusting for not being the proper hygienist they should be !! do not go here(my father also states that once they got extracted that he feels like someone beat the teeth straight out of his mouth looks like they didn't stich the open wound afterwards neither seems pretty weird..) been three days going on four and in very severe pain still) all these reviews are horrible in their own way) please don't waste your time going here read more

Arrived at 12 for a 12:15 office visit. Was taken in apx 1:15. Dentist came in 30 minutes later. Was given a shot for numbing. Did not come back for another 30 minutes. Started to pull the tooth and then was told there was an emergency and left me part way thru. Nearly another 30 minutes past and a different dentist came back to finish. It was just about 3:00 when I was finished. Wonder if the first one that started to pull did not know what they were doing. Stressful, a waste of time. Assembly line, chaotic, frustrating. How qualified are these people and who is running this place. Quality not quantity. read more

This place feels more like an assembly line than a dentist. They are always running late and I'm not talking minutes, I'm talking close to an hour or more. There are always more people in there than there are chairs in the waiting room. The hygienists are rough. The doctor cares more about selling extra products than actually caring for your teeth. They have you fill out mountains of paperwork every time you go even if you were there recently and nothing has changed and now they've made the process worse by trying to get you fill it out online which is very time consuming. Take my advice and go anywhere else but here. read more

I've always been treated well at this office my old dentist of 23 years closed so I was a little used to having things done a certain way and getting the TLC at my former dentist I miss nothing and the ambiance of the office is breathtaking very nice very comfortable I will continue to go to this office read more

I don't like giving bad reviews, but I feel that other people should know about this before they go here. When I scheduled my first appointment, it was for a cleaning and checkup, and I mentioned I thought I might have a cavity. When I got there, I was right on time, which was my fault because I was running late & still had to fill out the preliminary paperwork (I should have been there maybe 20 mins early). It took me ten minutes to fill out the paperwork and hand it in to a disgruntled assistant. Then I waited 50 minutes, and nobody came to get me for the appointment. So, I went to the desk and reminded them I was still there. They apologized for being understaffed, which I completely understood. Finally someone comes to get me for my appointment. I'm seated in the dentist chair, and the hygienist starts to prepare to take dental X-rays. This is probably the first time I have ever actually been in excruciating pain in a dentist's chair. The plastic bit that the hygienist put in my mouth to do the X-rays literally cut up the underside of my tongue because it didn't fit in my mouth properly. To the point where I was in tears, and begging the hygienist to stop. She finally numbed the area and apologized. But when I got home and checked, under my tongue was sliced up. Dental equipment should not injure the patient. And it if does, don't keep using it. There was no cleaning at this appointment. The dentist barely looked at my teeth, and then walked me out, much to my surprise. So I had to reschedule for a cleaning appointment, and take more time off work. When I went to the front desk to reschedule, a different assistant immediately began asking me when to set up an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out. Confused? Me too. I told the dentist I didn't want to get them out yet (and especially not here). Okay, so now I have another appointment set up for a cleaning. I go in, early this time, only to be told that the hygienist is taking care of a personal matter, and nobody is here to do the cleaning that should have been done in the first place. I was supposed to get a phone call the day before, which I didn't. So, now they've wasted my time off from work, which I have a limited amount of. So I left again with no cleaning. I do not recommend this place. I wish I had a better experience, because the inside of the place is absolutely stunning & I would have liked to keep visiting. read more

They did a great job cleaning my teeth. The Dentist and the Secretaries were very nice, as well as professional.

This place is amazing. I had just been told at a different chain dental place that I needed 4 fillings, which surprised me so I wanted to get a second opinion. I called here and got an appointment for the very next day. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. They worked hard to work out a way for my insurance to cover the x-rays (since they didn't want to use my x-rays from the chain place). The x-rays were quick as they had a special machine that did them all at once in a circle. The hygienist was thorough and friendly. Dr. Elbialy checked all my teeth and told me I did not need any fillings. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of this place! I felt very cared for. Thank you Schoharie Dental! read more

Very impersonal, staff does not introduce themselves or explain what is going to happen during a procedure. Dentist was very rough, impatient and did not explain what he was doing. Dental office is very factory like. I went twice for a cleaning and a cavity filling and left twice without ever receiving a cleaning as I was scheduled for an was made to keep coming back because they double and triple book patients. I had to wait several hours and then was told I would have to come back for another appointment to receive the cleaning that I had already been there twice to receive. I will never go back, horrible experience. read more
