Third, I would probably not buy a mattress from them again. I bought two queen mattress, last year. I tried to send one back but.... was told no. I was disappointed and didn't complain for a year but I thought I better say their mattress are okay but... not comfortable. Sure wish they would have stepped up to the plate and allowed my to exchange mattress, I might give a more positive review.

Love love love Sleepmaster, so much so that I've made two (relatively expensive) purchases there…read more My primary motivation for searching for and purchasing WJ Southard mattresses was ecological. They are a local retailer and manufacturer. They source and use quality materials that are natural/organic. I've never experienced any off-gassing, something I'm extremely sensitive to. The longevity of the mattress far exceeds a traditional innerspring. Their mattresses definitely come at a higher price point than if you were to go to Metro Mattress, Dream City, etc., but I have no doubt I will be sleeping on our Sleepmaster mattress for 20 or more years. I can say already that after I first purchased a Linklaen in 2014, I bought a run of the mill pillowtop from Dream City for our guest bedroom. The guest bed has already shit out on us, after hosting a handful of guests and occasionally my sleepy dog. Carol is a wonderful salesperson (and she may be the only one there?), knows her product, is personable and straightforward. She always seems willing to cut a deal for you, especially if you are a return customer. I don't know if this is part of her sales gimmick, but if it is, it is effective as her delivery is quite sincere. I ended up purchasing a Linklaen, which is Sleepmaster's all latex model. It is definitely a very firm mattress, and keep in mind that if you lay on their floor model in the store, it is MUCH softer than what you will actually receive, after being broken in by many backs and butts of people wanting to test it out. When I moved into a bigger house and had a bedroom that could accommodate a king, I went back to Sleepmaster and ended up getting an Archetype pillowtop, which is a bit softer model. It is a traditional innerspring with a latex topper. There is no breaking in period for this model. It feels like it's been your ride or die mattress. It is firm enough for me, soft enough for my husband, and roomy enough for the two of us, a toddler and a dog. The Archetype pillowtop is one of Sleepmaster's most expensive models - including delivery an hour away, it set me back $3402 (I did not purchase the box spring, that was just for the mattress). However! If the mattress lasts 20 years at least, and I'm sleeping on it every night, it breaks out to about .46 cents per night's sleep, and that sounds pretty good to me. FYI, if you are searching for WJ Southard, Sleepmaster is the stockist, and that is where Google Maps will send you if you're searching for Southard.

We bought a stand that we were able to take home with its. We drove over to the "Pick Up" doors and we were helped by the kindest and most professional employee. I wish I got his name . He was s tall guy who spent a great deal of time assisting us at fitting the television stand into my daughter's trunk. It became evident that the only way we could fit the stand in the car, was if I stayed at the dock until my daughter came back to get me! The Olum's employee offered water and other treats, while waiting for my daughter to return to get me! That guy deserves a raise! He was working Sunday morning on August 28!

I have always purchased the extended warranties and have never even taken advantage of the discounts offered toward future purchases. Until now, I had never had a problem with Olum's, and the sales staff have always been wonderful. Unfortunately, my experience with a brand-new GE refrigerator has completely changed my opinion. Shortly after the refrigerator was delivered, I noticed that it was not cooling properly. On the second day, I called Olum's because the temperature was around 50 degrees. I was told that it could take 24-48 hours for the refrigerator to reach the proper temperature, so I waited. By day four, the refrigerator was still only reaching about 45 degrees on its coldest setting. At that point, Olum's contacted GE, and GE scheduled a technician for a week later. The technician came out, diagnosed what he believed was an airflow problem, and made adjustments. Unfortunately, the refrigerator still did not get cold. Another week went by without a working refrigerator. When I contacted Olum's again, I was told that I needed to deal directly with GE. When I called GE, I was told that because the original issue had not been properly reported to them, they had to open a new service ticket. The next available appointment was three weeks away. At that point, GE allowed me to find my own technician and said they would reimburse me. Meanwhile, I lost the entire contents of my refrigerator twice. The financial loss from groceries alone was in the thousands of dollars. But the inconvenience was just as significant. Without a working refrigerator, you can't properly cook, grocery shop, store leftovers, or live your normal day-to-day life. You don't realize how essential and convenient something is until you don't have it. What has disappointed me most, however, is not that a brand-new appliance turned out to be defective. Things happen. What has disappointed me is that Olum's took no responsibility for helping make the situation right. After 20 years of loyalty and more than $20,000 spent with this local business, I expected some effort to acknowledge what my family had gone through. Instead, I was essentially told to deal with GE. And unfortunately, the story doesn't end there. Today, after everything I have been through over the past two months, I went back to Olum's and purchased another appliance--a new washer. Despite knowing the circumstances and knowing my history as a longtime customer, I was offered zero discount or accommodation toward the new purchase. If I were running a local business and had a customer who had supported me for 20 years, spent tens of thousands of dollars, continued buying from me even after a major problem, and had gone through two months without a working refrigerator, I would have made an effort to do something to make that customer feel valued. Unfortunately, I didn't feel valued. I have always believed in supporting local businesses, and for 20 years I believed my loyalty to Olum's meant something. This experience has made me question that. Buying local means very little if the business isn't willing to stand behind its customers when something goes wrong. The sales staff have always been great, but customer service is ultimately measured by what happens when there is a problem. In this case, Olum's fell far short of what I expected from a company I had supported for two decades.
