The staff helped find the appropriate sized bike for our older child who had outgrown his prior bike--and let us know the model he picked was on sale as well! Woot woot! Of course the younger child fell in love with a PINK bike (with the PINK tax--not on sale, and no she didn't want the color that was on sale) and had to have it. So we ended up getting 2 bikes instead of one. As per usual, these folks were super professional and Helpful. You know how some sales folks try to upsell stuff? None of that here. They asked what we needed and helped us find it. Road bike? Trail bike? Kiddie bike? PINK bike? They helped us get the correct sizes and from other locations if needed. In the interim, between purchases, we had a kick stand issue, which they easily fixed. My bike fell off the carrier and was dragged while the car was in motion-so we took it in for repair. Assorted other minor issues. Any issues that came up soon after purchase were taken care of for free. Other issues were taken care of at a reasonable price. Quality products which have longevity. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Zero sales pressure-the equipment sells itself. Highly Recommend

Stewart helped me right away and was very patient with me as I tried on probably 20 pairs of shoes to find a unicorn. i found out I was wearing completely the wrong shoe for my stride. It was great to talk to someone who also is passionate about running. Hooked me up with a pair of Hokas, which I had never tried personally. The difference with the stability has been night and day. I've taken a minute off each mile with the change of shoe and inserts suggested. I will be back to run some of the Thursday night park runs. 10/10 experience.

Mr. Dick was awesome; he is great with answering questions and making suggestions. I just so happened to be on the lookout for a 2019 Giant Revolt Advanced 2 in orange, of course. They were scarce in any color and I had just about given up. As I was getting ready to leave, I spotted-it couldn't be, but it was-a 2019 Giant Revolt Advanced 2 in the gray and red color scheme. It was the last one he had; it was in my size, and the price was right--deeply discounted!!! Needless to say, it is my favorite bike now. I even opened the unlocked basement door and yelled. So I guess no bikes ever get stolen in Forest Hills, but I can tell you where to find one. Didn't appreciate the lackadaisical attitude. Got our bikes back to the tune of $500, BFs rear hub was loose, my gears skipped after new drivetrain installed, had to abort first ride after picking it up. Bf ended up tweaking everything rather than taking them back. He didn't bother to call him about the rear hub. BF wanted to try out local bike shop bc they're 5 minutes from my house, but this guy didn't impress me. I'll go back to Kindred.

I had to bring my bike in for some maintenance in April 2020 during the coronavirus/covid shutdown. Biketek still offered fast and reliable service, setting me up with a new bottom bracket in just a couple days, despite being short-staffed due to the pandemic. I really appreciate how accommodating they have continued to be during this time. Outdoor activities are one of the only fun things we can do right now, so I'm very glad to have a working bike! Their prices for parts and maintenance seem in line with what I would expect.

Sweet shop right off the path! Went for an early ride took a spill and popped my tire. Told him about my situation didn't flinch just said "yeah bro give me 10-15 mins or so and I'll get you back on the road" came back in 10 and it was done. New rubber and tube right as they open in and out!!!! One bike shop took a week to give me a tune up.... Yelp! led me to this place and I'm happy we stopped in. Along with the tube replacement, I also asked Nick if anything else needed a tune up and explicitly said I didn't know anything at all about bikes. This was the perfect opening for him to take advantage of my lack of knowledge - so I was pleasantly surprised when we came to pick up the bike and the cost was extremely reasonable and done in just a few short days. There's nothing like fair service from someone who is friendly and knowledgeable - so my husband and I will definitely be bringing our own bikes here in the near future.

Riding the GAP from the Deal Trailhead to Frostburg and ending in Cumberland was mostly, a great…read moreexperience. The views are spectacular, rolling hills and so many colors of green and blue were breathtaking. Mile 9 was NOT our favorite mile. There is trail maintenance happening and that's a GOOD thing, but...the gravel is thick in many areas so riding the bike was sketchy at best. Thankfully it wasn't much more than that mile. I loved the train track right next to the trail and my prayers were answered when, lo and behold, a train appeared! It was stopped so as to clear a fallen tree but once removed (minutes) they were on their way. The train was filled with people who were happy to see bikers on the trail as we were happy to see, and wave at them. Great trail.

He said come on over, stayed open past time on Thursday 2 SEP to help two random out of town bicyclists. He not only helped but let me in the sacred space in the shop and showed me how to deal with the wheel on my Cannondale Topstone...I was afraid of the disc brakes [had tube, levers and pump], but had not practised removing a wheel or bothered to watch a YouTube video. I had spent 32 glorious miles on the GAP with my wonderful spouse...last 2 walked in cleats! Painful lesson on preparing ahead of time...so embarressed and me a boy scout and Army Vet. Thank you Hutch for your service in our brother USAF! Blessings always. I am sure this would be our go-to place if we lived anywhere within an hour...would be totally worth the drive.
