We searched the web for a nearby music school and came across ProMusic Plus in Weston. However, the excitement diminished into hurt this past Friday, five minutes into the lesson my son started complaining that he wasn't feeling well and wanted to go home. The manager/owner said sorry he is not well, but I already paid the instructor for the 30 minutes and will not be able to refund or reschedule his lesson. When she realized I wasn't backing down from this unfair policy, she said I don't want any trouble so I will refund you 1/2 for the session. She missed the point entirely! This customer service experience was hurtful and disappointing as I felt like she wasn't sympathetic to the fact that my son wasn't well, instead she was annoyed that she was losing money for the session. As a fellow business owner, I know how vital it is to provide a fantastic customer experience to all customers. Sadly, the owner of ProMusic Plus doesn't feel the same.

I'm the type of person that doesn't like people to beat around the bush with me or my kids. We are here to have her get in and learn and get out because she has other obligations as well. The teachers are all very friendly and knowledgeable. We really appreciate Ms. Jannette and the band directors.

We are in our sixties and have seen students as young as four years old. They tailor the lessons to the individual student no matter the age or experience level. What really makes SoFlo special is the fun atmosphere. The place just has an upbeat vibe. You can tell that the students and the teachers enjoy being there. Our instructor, Lauren (who co-owns the business), pushes each of us to play more challenging songs, but keeps it fun and interesting by working on songs that we like and want to learn how to play. The evening student recitals are fun. (I don't know who enjoys them more, the kids or the parents. - LOL) SoFlo is the music school for anyone looking for a nice clean safe facility, especially for first time students. But I completely understood since the guitars are hanging on small hooks and could easily fall out of a customer's hands. The staff took me on a short tour of the acoustic guitars with brief guidance of their pricing, sound and quality. The guitar pricing ranged $400 to several thousand depending on the brand, appearance and structural integrity. Penny Lane offers lifetime warranties on select guitars and provide in-house repairs. Aside from musical string instrument sales they offer lessons from professional instructors but its not cheap. The one hour private lesson is $180.00 or a discounted four sessions of lessons for $550.00. I have experience with the electric rock n' roll guitars from the 1980s but thought it would be a change of scenery to purchase an acoustic guitar and learn the chords the right way. My real issue with Code Ninjas is that we froze our account due to predicted non-use, this stopped our payments from being removed from our account for 2 months. Then, without our knowledge/consent, they resumed taking payments. I contacted Code Ninjas and addressed this, asking for a refund and for them to discontinue taking payments, the manager said he would take care of it, thus thought it was a done deal. 8 months later I realized that payments were still being taken from my account and had cost me over $2k for services that I could not have possibly used since I had moved from the area and are no longer near a Code Ninjas. I would advise anyone considering them to take measures to keep your child off the internet via monitoring, and to pay per visit or monthly. Show less
