I wanted to buy a guitar but have some problems with my shoulder and needed help selecting a size and style I could use comfortably. I got no help from the big box stores. I walked into Music Go Round and was immediately greeted by a friendly guy named Jeff. I explained my problem and Jeff showed me a variety of styles and sizes. When he saw how uncomfortable I was, he showed me how to hold the guitar like I was playing classical and it was a revelation. It took all the pressure off my shoulder. He brought me a variety of guitars without trying to upsell at all and I landed on a beautiful Alvarez Parlor size with all Mahagony top, sides and bottom. This guitar new at Guitar stores is selling for $1,100. I bought this slightly used guitar for 1/3 that cost. And, to top it off, the store has a wonderful dog walking around. So, if you want personal service, no pressure sales, and a great bargain on a great guitar--I would stop here. At least that was my experience.

I can't say they actively discourage me in any way. It's just that some of them have a hard time feigning interest. Maybe I'm just not a cool person. I dunno. Some other places have no trouble treating me like I matter, so perhaps it isn't just me. Perhaps I have been encountering an employee who doesn't like his job. Regardless, I keep coming in to see their incredibly good, constantly-rotating inventory. One time, I even sold an amp for them just by being myself, playing some pretty tunes on a nice little setup. A nice older gentleman walked up and complimented the sound I was getting then politely asked if he could buy the amp. We had a wonderful talk and then he bought it while I walked out the door. That made me feel GOOD. That experience has sustained me over a few of the more negative experiences with aforementioned aloof employee.

I take piano lessons there as an adult and I've been having fun. They also offer guitar, voice, tuba, and a bunch of other types of lessons. The staff is friendly and they have a good selection of music books. It's an incredibly easy walk from Natick Center.

Out of the hundreds of music stores I've been to this is by far the worst. The customer service was…read morehorrendous. The salespeople were rude and acted like they knew it all and that I knew nothing and wasn't worth their time. Their lessons are a rip off as they are conducted in the music stores where there are a lot of distractions and the teacher has to sometimes stop the lesson to help a customer. If I were a paying student I would not accept this very unprofessional behavior. Their books are priced higher than other local music stores and from the dealer themselves which can be purchased online.

How to describe Centre Music House... (1) place where you can rent an instrument, (2) get it…read morerepaired or (3) even buy it. (4) And take lessons in everything from violin to voice. Corbitt opened the place in 1973, and he's as warm and honest a guy as you're ever going to find. (He's also hilariously droll, and knows a lot about music, musical instruments, music history, life, the universe, and everything.) His son Max now handles much of the everyday operations, and shares most or all of Corbitt's strengths, as named above. Which is really cool--It means there'll be a Centre Music in Framingham for another generation. Great place for lessons, too.

I am in LOVE with this guitar again! This Strat+ was purchased new 25 yrs ago and survived decades…read moreof gigging/jamming but eventually developed serious tuning and intonation issues. I all but gave up on the thing until my friends told me about Cranky's. For a very reasonable fee, Greg worked on the frets, tremolo, tuning heads, saddles, and gave it a thorough cleaning. She now plays BETTER than in 1995, and I'm happy to report has taken its place as my main axe again! As far as I'm concerned, this is the only place that I will trust with my dearest guitars. I always…read morewanted to learn how to play the accordion but for some reason or another never had the time, then I found Mr. Emilian. When I started with Mr. Emilian I really had not idea what a note was, I know it is sad, but it is the truth. Mr. Emilian thought me how to read music sheets, how to play notes, arpeggios and accords. Needless to say, he is very patient and very knowledgeable, too. He lent me one of his accordions in the beginning and kept giving me bigger accordions as I was getting better. Eventually I bought a very good accordion from him. I now live outside MA but I still take classes with him using Skype :) Take my word, if you are looking to learn how to play the accordion or the Bassoon, give Mr. Emilian a call.

When I moved to Natick I asked around for wholesome activities and this program, specifically LouLou, was mentioned repeatedly. I started when my son was a little over four mos and continued until he finished all 9 modules at around 3 yrs of age. This was hands-down our favorite activity of the week. Everything about it was magical for us, and the song book and cd proved a nice activity during the week. There are lots of sessions so if sickness or a nap gets in the way you can easily reschedule. Music Together also provided us a nice community and intro to the town. Greg is also great - my son enjoyed taking classes with him as he grew older. Highly recommend.
