School of Rock has been such an incredible experience for our family! From the start, they've nurtured our kids musical curiosity in the most fun, encouraging way possible. Teacher Travis absolutely rocks--he has the kids playing and singing AC/DC and The Ramones with huge smiles on their faces. Manager Drew keeps everything running smoothly and always makes us feel welcome and supported. And then there's Nash, the main man behind the desk--always greeting us with a grin and shredding guitar licks that set the tone for how fun this place really is. The whole team creates an environment that's equal parts professional and playful, where kids are free to explore music while building confidence. We couldn't be happier with the way they've made music such a joyful part of our kids' lives. read more

If you're looking for a small personal school, this is probably not the place for you. It's bustling with customers and activities, but seems to be somewhat impersonal. Kids coming and going all the time. I cannot vouch for their efficacy, but I felt it was a little too noisy for what I was looking for. From the popularity it looks like many people do like School Of Rock and I am sure they do a great job instructing one on one or in small groups. It just wasn't what I was looking for. I personally prefer the intimacy of the Creative Factory insurance. read more

My son is on the spectrum and has a hard time focusing, but he loves the Little Wings class. He has a blast and behaves so well. It provides him with such a great focus and allows him to burn off some energy and excitement. It's worked wonders to develop his patience. We love it. read more

I took my kids for an introductory class and I won't be back. My initial impression is that there is plenty of parking and it's pretty secure. You have to be buzzed into the building. When I arrived they told me Ed would be teaching both lessons (for my 8 year old private 30 minute, and my 7 year old was in a rookies class). The guys at the front said Ed will take you on a tour. I literally thought it was going to be just that. Nope! We just walked into the room and there wasn't much said to me. Only thing asked was do you think he needs a smaller guitar- I said yes.. and that was it. Now I'm watching Both my sons in this room trying to play a guitar before I told him, No my oldest is first and my second son is in your next class. Like I only walked us all down because I thought I was getting a tour. He was like Ok.... Where is the leadership? Why is that I have to explain this! Where is the tour and direction to say this is what we're going to be doing first and this is what we're going to be doing next. My second son was excited and was trying to play before I had to explain to him - you're in the next class. Now my second son is pretty shy with new people. Ed didn't seem like he has much skills with children. When it came time for the second group class. My son was pretty shy! Ed basically said if he doesn't want to play you guys can leave and walked away. Like how did he go from being excited when it was private to now y'all can leave if it doesn't want to play with the group! Like is this the skills you give to a 7 year old? There was no follow up to say we can discuss private lessons or maybe another instructor. I really felt like they didn't want us there or could careless about us. So we got the memo! Kids learn confidence and have fun in a healthy environment. So happy for my daughters to be learning musical knowledge that helps in so many other areas. Beat, counts, rhythms, working with a team and fixing what isn't working. The process is amazing and I hope they never loose their love of the song. The staff are welcoming and put up with my need for adult conversation after being with the kids all day. School of Rock has been one of the best experiences for my 8 year old daughter. I only wish that it was around when she was even younger. From the programs for preschoolers to kids just starting out to experienced musicians...School of Rock is simply the best!!! My daughter has gone to Rock 101 Summer camp and has tried every instrument offered. She is currently enrolled in Rock 101, taking voice and keyboard. All of teachers are wonderfully supportive and the owner, Bernard, is friendly, flexible and kind. And what could be better than performing in a band with other kids your age?! Our daughter started in the Rookies program for 5-6 year olds and she loved it. She has since started taking keyboard lessons which helps her keep focused (the lessons are private which helps a lot because she distracts so easily). She loves coming back home with parts of songs that she knows, like Taylor Swift and the Beatles. It makes her want to play. Bernard runs a very good School for kids to learn music. This is a nurturing environment for all levels and ages of kids. The other thing that's great is they will give your child a shot to step up a level (i.e. Even a young kid can try out to see if they can play in the group or needs more practice). The approach for teaching that School of Rock sets in place brings both foundational knowledge and fun in learning new songs. My son loves that he can play Purple Haze for grandpa and it motivates him to practice more and focus in class. read more

My 8 year old son takes guitar lessons here and I have recently joined him. SOR feels like going over to a friend's house to jam. Bernard is very friendly, flexible, and genuinely interested in the kids. We have had two different instructors, and both are so incredibly competent, not just with music and performance, but also with teaching young ages (what I imagine is very difficult). Since I am learning along with my son, I am observing the expertise up close. The instructors have a brilliant way of hooking the kids by getting them playing something of interest as soon as possible, and continuing that path of success while feeding in music theory and scales and other "boring" aspects of learning an instrument in a way they don't lose interest. I had dreamed of my son sitting in his playroom fooling around with his guitar, instead of with videogames, and IT IS HAPPENING. Thank you SOR!! read more
