The only reason I gave this Dr one star is because he accepted my insurance. This Dr's office staff is rude but it doesn't come close to the rudeness I received from the Dr Schreier He was fine before my surgery, and once my surgery was over and I had to go in for post op checks he was so rude. I had to go in a lot because of infection and bleeding. He didn't want to help me he just sent me to my primary Dr. If I had to do it again I would not see that poor excuse of a compassionate doctor. read more

Dr. Shreier is a miracle worker. He absolutely saved my fathers life!!! My 86 year old dad with multiple medical conditions had a complicated small bowel loop that went necrotic, he used a robot to go in and dissect the dead bowel and reattach the health tissue. It has taken me 6 years to write this. To make a long story short . I had breast cancer. The day of my first surgery my j wire was placed in the wrong place. Dr. Schreier knew this and still went forward with my surgery removing only healthy breast tissue. A surgery that was supposed to only take a hour took almost 3 because he removed so much healthy normal breast tissue. He lead me to believe that it was the radiologist fault but in all actuality he should have canceled surgery or had the j wire replaced. I gave him 3 stars for completing the surgery when I went back the second time and removing the cancer. The first surgery caused severe PTSD and anxiety for which lasted 6 years. I cannot recommend him as a surgeon. read more

Sorry. We did NOT receive a surgery so I cannot judge that. However, I had read his reviews and was excited to speak with him regarding my moms health. When we arrived at the appointment , BOY WAS I SHOCKED when he literally uttered the words "I'm not here to answer little questions.." when we asked some questions about his opinion on some health related issues. I had more questions to ask and still truly respected his reputation so in that moment I didn't answer how I wanted (aka: well then what the eff you here for ? Youre a doctor /supposedly a patient advocate, right ? Answering questions is EXACLTY what you're here for .) I continued on with my questions and he was basically getting up and so disrespectful and dismissive of both my mom and I (because he wasn't going to do any surgery is the only excuse I could find for his behavior) that I'm compelled to write this review . The worst experience today at this office. Had a scheduled appointment today at 4pm. Waited over an hour (85 min) for the doctor, who didn't even come in to see me. Ended up walking out. I'm sure he's a good doctor but will not return. I'm very dissatisfied with the service at this office particularly the lady who worked up front today. She refused my request when asked to confirm the co-pay with my insurance. read more

I totally disagree with CrazyRedRyder! I had colon surgery with Dr. Schreier and had as good an experience as it gets. He has a confident and unassuming manner that gave me the attitude that one needs going into surgery. He gave me full disclosure on what could go wrong and fortunately, his capable hands assured that did not happen. On my final consultation with him, I told him I hoped I would not need his services again, but if I did, I would definitely go back to him. Had unexpected gall bladder removal surgery last week. Met Dr. Schreier while admitted to West Hills Hospital. He was extremely thorough in explaining the need for the surgery and the options for how it would performed (including drawings and detailed explanation). He spent as much time with me as needed and I never felt rushed. He has a great, friendly, beside manner. He projects confidence, experience and knowledge. Really makes you feel like you are in the hands of someone who not only knows his craft, but is an expert in his field. He has the triple threat benefit of years of real world experience, the latest in medical technique and innovation and youthful passion and exuberance for his profession and his patients. I had no question going into my surgery that I had made an excellent selection for my surgeon and the results confirmed that. Minimally invasive, very fast recovery and exactly what I was told to expect is what occurred. What also impressed (and comforted me) during my time in the hospital was that while Dr. Schreier was not the primary doctor responsible for caring for the illness that put me there, I found his advice, direction and information to be more up-to-date, more relevant and more accurate than any of my Doctors' or the hospital Doctors'. In fact, by day 2 of my stay, I was telling the other Doctors that if their instructions contradicted Dr. Schreier that I was listening to what Dr. Schreier instructed and not them. I have visited his office for a follow up and had the same excellent experience. Office staff was friendly, thorough and diligent. Dr. Schreier saw me within 15 minutes of my appointment (which is about 2.5 times better than any other Dr.'s office I've been to... ever.) He spent plenty of time with me, answered tons of questions and gave the same sense confidence that he had in the hospital. I have already referred friends and colleagues to Dr. Schreier and will continue to do so whole heartedly. I hope that neither myself nor any of my friends or family ever need surgery again, but I have no question that if needed, my first call would be to Dr. Schreier. read more

I had such a great experience with Dr. Schreier. I needed my gall bladder removed and he was who I was referred to. His office staff is very friendly and warm. We scheduled surgery at the West Hills Surgical center. It couldn't have gone better. One week out I caught a flu but prior to that, recovery was pretty easy. 2 weeks out I feel great and have no scarring. I highly recommend Dr. Schreier! read more

The office staffs and doctor are beyond great. I was referred by insurance for a cancer surgical consultation. After seeing my chart Dr. Scherier told me that he was not able to treat me because I need a special surgeon trained for bile duct cancer. He helped to find a qualified doctor and sent the urgent referral request to HMO medical group. He acted like me is his own relative. The office staffs showed their support and compassion even waived my insurance co-pay. This office is super beyond and above. I believe they will treat every person who come through their door the same way. read more

I just left Dr. David Schreier's office after doing a checkup on my surgery which was done 6 months ago. It was January 25, 2016when I was admitted to West Hills Hospital to remove a precancerous tumor measuring 2.5" in diameter. I must admit I am not a big fan of testimonials because some of them are so malicious that meant only to destroy other people businesses. I read some negative comments about Dr. Schreier and therefore I felt obliged to add my testimonial. The very first day I visited Dr. Schreier after I got the colonoscopy news of having a precancerous tumor in my colon. I was referred to Dr Schreier by my Physician Dr. Yasharel. The moment I met Dr. Shreier he had a smile on his face and he took time to explain to me about the need for a surgery. He explained the process before, during and after the surgery. After he was done, he asked me if I have any questions. I asked him a lot of questions and he took the time to answer them all. He made sure I had no question to ask before he sent me to the person in charge of the pre-op. I felt very comfortable with him and he gave me the feeling I was in good hands. I didn't feel any need to go to another doctor for a second opinion. His staff was very friendly and very professional. The surgery wasn't without extreme pain. But thanks to Dr. Schreier supervision I knew that everything will be ok at the end and It was. I spent 4 nights in the hospital. Dr. Schreier checked me up every day. On the fourth day Dr Schreier gave me the good news, the tumor was benign and was released from the hospital on that day. The crew of 6th floor of West Hills Hospital lead by head nurse Camille Perez who was above and beyond excellence. They crew was like a family to me and made me feel like home. At any time I was complaining about pain or having sleepless night they were telling me not to worry because I was in good hands with Dr. Schreier and everything will be okay. After being released from the hospital the pain diminished slowly and surely every day. Today I feel great especially after having my final checkup by Dr. Schreier. I am greatly thankful to Dr. Schreier golden hands. At any time I have been seen by Dr. Schreier before, during and after the surgery he was always courteous, always having a comforting smile on his face and always took the time to check me out without any rush or pressure and always had time to answer any questions. Beware!!! I was a patient of Dr.Schreier's for over 10 years. I was originally diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 29 years old, which was 18 years ago. Ever since, I have been very proactive. I would see Dr. Schreier regularly for follow-up appointments. Every time I came into his office I complained about a lump that I felt in my breast. When he would see me he always made me feel like I was a hypochondriac and he would say to me, "YOU'RE BACK AGAIN" with a very pompous attitude, like I was just wasting his time. I would always feel like I needed to apologize for being there for my appointments. Dr. Schreier ALWAYS made me feel like I was wasting his time and that he had more important patients to deal with. All those years he tried to convince me that what I was feeling was the nipple to my implant and that a biopsy was not necessary. Two years ago, I noticed that this lump was feeling (that he called my implant nipple) became larger and he FINALLY decided to take me seriousand do a biopsy. Unfortunately, after all those years of coming into his office, I was told by him that it was malignant tumor and that he was so sorry. If Dr. Schreier would have taken my condition more serious I definetly wouldn't be dealing with my condition today. I would have caught it much earlier on. The past teo years, I have been through Chemo, a double mastectomy, reconstruction, and unfortunately had to start Chemo again. I WOULD NOT recommend Dr.Schreier to anyone. read more

Dr. Schreier is by FAR the best doctor/surgeon I've ever met. I had abdominal surgery this fall and 2 procedures as well. As someone in the health care industry as well, I meet doctors all the time. He has one of the best bedside manners I've encountered. He also has exceptional knowledge and experience. In addition, the staff at West Hills hospital really and truly respect him as a surgeon. They couldn't say enough great things about him. Some of the nurses have had family members they referred to him for surgery. I would absolutely do the same. His office staff were also very accommodating in getting me in for appointments. I am now well and healthy, which is wonderful. But now I don't get to have him as a doctor since he doesn't do general primary. I asked so I can keep him as my regular primary doctor! I would recommend him to all my loved ones. read more
