I stopped in today to check out pricing for a bridal bouquet. The lady at the desk said she's not doing weddings because she's booked solid in July. Too clarify, in case it mattered, I said that I needed just one bouquet. I am not a florist, so at this point, I'm guessing that one bouquet might not be comparable to handling a whole wedding. She restated she's not doing weddings because she did have the bandwidth. I said ok and headed for the door. No biggy. Then she said to other ladies, "Did you hear her?! I said no and she kept asking." Are you kidding how rude and unprofessional?! You should never mock potential customers! In fact, I would've approached that encounter like, "So sorry I'm totally booked. Congratulations on your special day! I see you brought your holder with you. What are your colors or what flowers do you like? You could try making it yourself. You'd need to soak the foam overnight and space the flowers out like so, and include greenery too,"or something to this degree. Any type of way would've been better than choosing to be unkind. I made an online order for a floral arrangement for a funeral that I couldn't attend bc I'm in the process of moving. For whatever reason, they confirmed the order BEFORE the payment went through. I didn't notice there was a problem until I got a voicemail from Bonnie. By the time I could call, it was too late. Some young lady with all the warmth and compassion of a dead toad, took the call. She said Bonnie wasn't there, that it was too late, the delivery had already gone out, and she couldn't do anything for me. How far they've fallen since my aunt was a floral designer there. I received a gift from friends in memory of my brother's death. My husband was left a message to pick up something, Sat. June 13, 2020. He returned home but unfortunately the gift wasn't to my taste. I wanted to replace it with something else from their store. I was given amounts of $100, then $80, and lastly $85. The first amount from a female. Other two amounts from a male. He also said the delivery fee was deducted. Again, there was no delivery. The male was very condescending and somewhat sarcastic. At this point, I asked for my original gift back as I wished to leave. He did not want to return to me and kept saying he would work with me. Didn't feel that he was honest and that I was just a female that couldn't speak my mind. I most definitely will not recommend this business. read more

We ordered flowers for my fathers funeral. After spending close to 2 hours explaining and specifically showing Jonas photos of what we wanted, the flowers that showed up were not nearly close to what we were promised or wanted. We ordered the flowers 10 days before the funeral. We paid $50 extra on top of the $425 to have "Grandiose" flowers as we were told by Jonas. This was not the case. After stressing that we did not want a bud Vase (and paid to have a different vase) we received a bud vase. At already a very stressful, trying time in life we feel that we were cheated out of our money. Jonas' mouth was writing checks but his hands did not deliver. After calling and requesting more flowers because the vases we not close to being full, he did end up bringing a few mums (filler flowers). This was only after dealing with the disrespectful receptionist who's attitude was blaming us for not explaining what we wanted.... we were there for 2 hours... At our appointment, Jonas kept telling us to trust him. We put our trust in him and we were cheated out, on the day of a funeral. If you want to receive flowers worth your money, I recommend Stracks in Chesterton. We received a beautiful bouquet that was half the cost and double the quality. I talked my family into using Schutlz Floral Shop because all through my dads illness I purchased the bouquets out of their refrigerator. I was satisfied with this and this was the reason I wanted to use them. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with what we received the day of the funeral. The most important day.. I do not recommend this business if you want high quality bouquets. I have attached photos of 2 bouquets from Schultz and 1 from Strack & Van Til. Very disappointed with this local florist. Yesterday, I made the decision to use Schultz floral for a floral bouquet order to be created and delivered using same day service. What they sent out after we payed close to $70, was more like a $20 grocery store chain bouquet. Rose petals had brown spots on them and were wilting. A still closed lily had a sizeable dark brown patch on it too. After grateful recipient sent me a picture of the delivered flowers, I couldn't help but be surprised by the very small, poor, wilted quality of that floral gift. And this was a upgraded "DELUXE" bouquet. Yes, i called to complain...Megan said, she checked the bouquet before it was sent out?! It was probably damaged during delivery?! Come on??? That bouquet was created and sent out like that! I wasn't looking for a refund or a tacky resending of a NEW floral delivery... In my mind, this surprise delivery gift was already ruined and I wanted them to know that. I felt deceived. Buyer beware...clearly everyone is out to make a fast buck! No pride in a quality product anymore even with a local, family owned business. read more

Yesterday was my dear mother's birthday. Schultz went above and beyond to deliver a fantastic gift set of flowers and balloons for her. They were trying to reach her in order to make sure they could deliver it to her personally. In this cold weather, they wanted to make sure they didn't leave the flowers outside so they could succumb to the cold. My mom, being the party animal she is, was way too busy, having a good time, and missed the call. The folks at Schultz called me and kept me updated about what was keeping them from delivering the flowers, which I totally appreciated. By the end of the day, they found my mother. When she saw the flowers and gift set, it refortified why I am her favorite son. For all my future flower deliveries, Schultz will be my go-to. read more

I placed two Mother's Day orders 5/2020. The arrangements were not like the picture and I have not ordered since. Since then I have received email confirmations for other people's orders and now they charged my card! They say they are unable to refund it and I have to contact my bank under fraud. Now I have to get a new debit card and dispute it with my bank. Customer service? I think not. read more

We had Jonas create the flowers for my father's funeral. We felt we were very clear what we wanted but apparently he did not understand. And the flowers were very disappointing when they arrived for the memorial service, fortunately he did come and add flowers to the main arrangement that was there from my mother and my sisters. But we paid $488 and we certainly did not feel like we got our moneys worth. When a bouquet came from Strack and Van'til's in Chesterton, it was amazing. I asked the florist what she would have charged for the three pieces we got from Schultz's. She said that they would have charged closer to $250 for what we got. The funeral is such a hard time, and I do appreciate that Jonas came to correct the biggest mistake. But I highly recommend Strack and Van'til for flower arrangements.That is definitely where we will go for any of our future needs. read more

Ordered prom flowers and boutonniere. Flowers were miniature, color combination was elementary and the arrangement was a round ball. Uggggh. I was highly shocked and disappointed with the owner and his negative attitude. He believes he can tell his customers how to behave. Uh no....!? ***Update**** I received a call from this place and the owner had to go to great lengths to find me. It has been months. (Boyfriend ordered on the internet at a 1-800 flowers type of site or something that outsourced. No idea how they pulled it off.) They offered to replace my flowers. She said that had I called she would have made it right immediately. Because she tried so hard to get to me I am inclined to believe it. I did try to call but I didn't leave a message. But, because it was valentines day and it was later in the day I am sure that they were busy. She said it sounded like they tipped over during delivery and apologized profusely and offered to fix it. I really appreciate the gesture. Perhaps we will give them another shot. I have changed my rating to 4 stars because I appreciate the effort. ************************ I just received my flowers less than 6 hours ago. My boyfriend had them delivered from another state because he couldn't be with me on valentines day. The bag that the flowers were wrapped in was full of water so they were obviously tipped over when they were delivered. Also, he paid around $65 for them. Most of the petals on the flowers are falling off. I haven't even touched them. I unwrapped them and they are still in the vase. Not sure what that is all about. read more

My siblings and I went in on a funeral arrangement for my uncle who passed unexpectedly recently. He was also our godfather. Great nice man. We looked at some arrangements online and decided on one. When I got to the funeral home, I was surprised that it was nothing like what the picture looked like. My siblings were also extremely disappointed. We paid almost $100 for an arrangement about 13" wide and 16" tall is what I think it ended up measuring. In the picture, there was a spray of small red roses going up and around this little crystal cross. There were no sprays of roses like in the picture. And the assortment of flowers was nothing like on the picture. It looked like a hillbilly hodgepodge of leftovers. Very very disappointed. Do not look at a picture on the site and think it's what you will get. If you are going to spend money here, then you have to go in knowing that you will get what you get and it might not be what you thought you were going to get. read more

I didn't even want to click on one star, but it would not let me pick 1/4 star. Extremely disappointed with funeral arrangement. Was not representative at all of the picture shown on the website. Only one flower in the arrangement matched the flowers shown on the website (the tiny spray roses). I was ok with the substitution of snap dragons since they did not have gladiolas available, but I believe snap dragons are much cheaper than glads and there was no price adjustment. They substituted the pink daisies (shown in the picture) and they substituted hot pink roses (shown on the picture) with white. The arrangement of the roses was not at all like the arrangement shown in the picture and I was told "that's the nature of flowers and we can not always duplicate a picture exactly". When you are using cut flowers, how on earth can you not duplicate the arrangement shown in the picture? The card was placed directly in front of the crystal cross so that you could not see the cross and they blamed this on the funeral home. I was told I should have called and they would have fixed it, but when you arrive at the funeral home after work and the shop is closed, how can you call to have it fixed? I was told I should have called the next morning--but again, if the service is 1 hour after the shop opens and you are already dealing with a death in the family, do I really believe you will make an entire new arrangement and have it delivered before the service? I was given a $20 refund, but that is too little too late. And p.s.--you DO NOT measure each arrangement, because this was shy of the posted measurement. Do NOT expect to receive your arrangement as shown on the website, and DO expect many excuses for why. DO expect cheap substitutions and to overpay. read more
