The beer garden is self-service, which works incredibly well given the huge crowds they serve. Even on a weeknight, it was packed, but the service moved quickly and efficiently. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for from a Munich biergarten--lively, relaxed, and filled with locals. Its location away from the main tourist areas gives it a more authentic feel. A great spot for Bavarian food, beer, and a lively local beer garden experience.

But the crowning absurdity of the evening concerned a humble bottle of water. We ordered another water. It never arrived.
