True hidden treasure! Wonderful opportunity to take in the early morning sites of the track and equine athletes at work; combined with some really really great food. Had a breakfast burrito that was simply fantastic. Great menu with a wide variety of items.

My favorite place to watch the races at Los Alamitos! Tons of fun for breakfast and morning workouts. The breakfast special is perfect, the chicken tacos are great, and the cheeseburger and onion rings are the best around!

We owe our visit to Schwanie's this morning to Michael W's review. What a gem! Schwanie's is a really unusual dining experience, and perfect for someone who doesn't gamble but enjoys watching horses go through their paces anyway. For one thing, breakfast there on a Friday morning means no crowds - which in turn means no-hassle parking (we parked right where the Quarter Horse Association offices are) - and no standing in line to order. When we arrived at 9am, the horses were just getting ready for their morning routine, so it was perfect timing if you're there for that experience, as we were. Service was quick and friendly: you order at the counter ($10/- minimum for credit card use) and take your drinks and silverware there; food is served on regular white ceramic plates and brought to you. My mini-peeve was the coffee came in a styrofoam cup with no refill, and half-and-half came from a regular-sized carton. Soft drinks can be ordered can or glass (plastic). Food was very good!!!! We had a vegetable omelette (when I said "no meat", the server was present enough to ask if I wanted cheese with my omelette - nice!) and bean-and-cheese burrito. The hot and moist omelette came with really yummy hash browns. I think there was a sprinkle of Cajun spices in the finish. In any case, I didn't feel a need to add any condiments. The bean-and-cheese burrito came with sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato slices, radish slices and pickled jalapenos - NICE!!!! How much for this meal that kept us full till dinner? Less than $15/- before tip!!!! So, yeah, loved that we have this option, and that we didn't have to dress up for the experience. I would have given this find five stars except for the plastic and styrofoam, and the fact that that the outside tables were not completely free from bird poop - it wasn't that bad! But, yeah, there was some bird poop ... I guess the horse-racing community is quite content to keep this eating joint their industry secret, but it is open to the public, although I think our party was the only public there. We certainly received a number of curious looks :-) Even so, for the price, convenience and sheer novelty, I'm really surprised this place is not more reviewed. Many thanks to Michael W. again!

Perfectly cooked! Good coffeeand delicious food.

The cafe is a little hard to find but we asked a gentleman in a golf cart who gave us a ride right to the front door. Turns out he is the track director Scotty. Very pleasant start to our first visit. My husband and I had the breakfast special yesterday morning. We sat out on the patio and had a nice relaxing time watching the horses train while dining. The coffee was good and the meal was perfectly cooked. We liked it so much we are planning to come back soon.

Pancakes and Eggs. Pancakes can be replaced with French toast.

My kids and I come here whenever we get a chance for a relaxing breakfast. Great portions, delicious meals, and decent prices. It opens at 6am everyday except for Mondays. I think the horses are on the track practicing until about 10am.

Still, its a good walk to the front door since its located to serve those people working on the track, not really for visitors.

One burrito is good for one person but if you're not too hungry you can share it between 2 people. Service was excellent and staff answered all our questions. Ordering:Make sure you order at the window and wait for them to call your number ( everyone stands around waiting). I look forward to trying all the other burrito varieties.

I love Mexican food leftovers. My mom keeps asking, so I been here three weekends straight. Tried six different things. Not a breakfast burrito yet ironically. Nachos, tacos and asada fries are my favorite so far. They have green and red sauce, but no pickled carrots or radish or anything like that. I find the green is spicier. Red is perfect. Has some kick, but not overpowering and doesn't linger so you can enjoy it. Ask what's in the entrees or figure it out as you go like I'm doing. Some of the ingredients aren't for me, like iceberg lettuce. Come ready to eat. You'll get a lot of good food.

One bite harmonizes the spicy and earthy flavor of molé into a savory, carne asada. You'll be addicted. That's why I keep coming back. No other molé dish compares to Casa Adelita. Now why do I keep coming back to the Hawaiin Gardens location? It's for the ambiance and service. It's not noisy at all. Casa adelita puts the "casa" for your family and friends. You can listen to nice banda music in the background and also watch fútbol on TV. Last but not least, the service is stellar. One time, I forgot my credit card and started driving off. Gabriella caught me at the stop sign and made sure I got my card back. Leticia (Letty) was my server today. Her attentiveness and welcoming attitude convicted me to write a review. She didn't treat me as someone who just ate there. She wanted to be sure that I had a great experience. As soon as my chips and salsa were done, she was like, "Want more chips and salsa?" She made sure I had plenty to drink and always served me with glowing happiness. So I'm not just recommending Casa Adelita. I'm recommending Casa Adelita Hawaiian Gardens. If you want to eat, go to other Casa Adelita branches. If you want a full heart and stomach, go to Casa Adelita Hawaiian Gardens. You'll love it here.

Also I loved the banda music playing in the back, it really seals the deal on the vibe the restaurant has going.

I got one each of every taco available: pork al pastors, everything else was beef : cheek, lengua, asada, cabeza, labio- every meat morsel was tender and delicious. I asked for onions and cilantro on top. Self serve bar has mild green salsa and a delicious but spicy yellow orange (scotch bonnet?). Casual dining: you place your order and the food is prepared quickly. Served a refreshing jamaica (I hope I spelled that right) - just enough tangy to sweetness flavor, also tried the horchata . Was served by a kindly gentleman : I had asked for water but did not realize it was bottled and charged for each one. I asked if he would replace them with two more tacos instead (slightly close in price but not exact) and he did. Got a quesadilla for the child and it was a huge portion with no added spices so she enjoyed it. Parking was easy the afternoon I came. High chairs available. Clean restroom.
