The quality of food from Schwan's has seriously declined since they began the transition to Yelloh. I have been a customer for over ten years, but I will not buy from them again. I paid almost ten dollars for a bowl of rice with broccoli, mushrooms and chicken, and I had to search for the mushrooms (two tiny bits) and broccoli (six tiny bits). Even though it had six good-sized bites of chicken, the bowl was mostly rice with a weird, slimy cheese sauce. Worse, their Philly style beef tasted like cardboard and made me sick. I've tried, without success, to contact customer service. They are so busy that the chat freezes up, and their phone service puts me on hold until I give up and hang up. I guess I am not the only one facing problems with the food. I never have a problem with the driver, but every third order is short because they run out of the asparagus or some other product that I ordered online. I am done with Schwan's. They are not the same company, and it is not the same food. read more

I subscribe to this service as I live in a large apartment complex with other patrons. I find everything in good shape, reasonably priced if you realize they need to pay salaries out of our purchases, and nothing so far, after several years, that must be returned for any reason. BUT the key lime pie had very little flavoring. You need a lot of lime to compensate for the ice cold and even freezer-cold serving. I order the hake regularly and the cod. The cod from the local fish place is thin compared to these fat servings. The ice cream is especially good and not inflated with air which is why I no longer buy ice cream from the grocery store. As a consumer I think the problem is that their advertising is inadequate. All of my neighbors work, both makes and females,, and really should be using this service more. read more

I have been a home delivery customer for many years and loved the service. They recently rebranded and have made many changes. Aside from higher food prices, which is understandable, they have eliminated truck delivery to my address and now I must pay $10 for UPS delivery. Today I received an email that their rewards program is now being reduced to 1/3 of what it used to be! 3% down to 1% and they call it a new "perk." Then I tried to send them an email and got a return saying they no longer will use email as a method to contact them. Can they do anything else to lose long time customers? Schwan's has been bought out and the company's new name is YELLOH. Some items dropped off in quality, but service was still good until mid-Nov 2023. Then one order did not arrive. I made an inquiry and was told they cancelled it Per my request. But I never requested a cancellation. I decided to try again. Pleased an order on 12/3 for a 12/7 delivery. I received an email confirmation with an order number. They charged my card. Today is 12/7. No delivery. I checked my account on the app: there is no record of my 12/3 order anymore. YELLOH has done away with the customer service phone number, so I have filled out the customer service form. I am so done with these people. I have purchased from Schwan in 3 different states over about 30 years. Schwan stood for quality, on-time delivery & good customer service. YELLOH is a joke. read more

The food is awful now, I had mashed potatoes with cubed potatoes mixed in and were hard as rocks. Never can get what I order even when ordering far in advance. But the quality is lacking and probably will cause me to no longer order. Waited 2 years for Popsicles to come back, and can never get them. read more

I made my first Schwans order on Saturday for a Monday delivery between 3 and 6 o'clock. it is now 7:30 and still not here. I have not received notification of the delay and when my order can be expected. I have looked at my account and it still indicates delivery today. I tried the chat which is just automated and of NO help. I tried an email. I got a response that said they have discontinued replying to emails as a phone call is quicker. I tried calling and they are closed for the day. this is not at all impressive and right now I am just getting frustrated with their lack of customer service. Almost no sauce, cheese on the pizza itself is lacking, better of getting a frozen Tony's pizza, at least you know that your getting. The packaging was great, all the food was frozen when it arrived. As far as quality, If I could give lower then one star, I would. The food was not good at all. It was sent to me and my family as a gift, and I was upset my mom spent her money on it. It was truly terrible food. When my mother spoke to customer service, all the offered her was a $20 coupon, which she declined as she has no intentions on ever ordering from them again. I placed a large order through their app and it arrived in a large cooler box (there is no delivery truck for my area so they ship UPS) that only had one small packet of dry ice in it.... Needless to say, everything was thawed, and I do not live in an area where the weather is hot. To their credit, they offered to reship everything right away and I accepted - saying the delivery should have more ice this time. Well, it arrived and was packed exactly the same: one tiny dry ice pack for a huge cooler, and again, everything thawed or half-thawed, which amounts to the same. They've offered to refund me but why can't they just pack their orders better to avoid food waste? I've gotten frozen delivery from several other sources in recent months and never had a problem like this. I will not be ordering again. read more

Now some type of Styrofoam substitute and insufficient amount of dry ice. Numerous orders melted/thawed. Not to mention UPS absolute worst delivery method. 5. And now the quality of the product has gone downhill. REALLY, after all these years of success you think you can change and retain your customers. My first taste of Schwan's Vanilla Ice Cream - 1969 South Dakota!!! Addicted!! Devoted customer 1980's - 1990's Arizona. Late 1990's- 2017 South Dakota. 2017 until now New Mexico. It's expensive and portions are very small, unless you're a family for four field mice. It's also frustrating to be a frequent customer, and be told that the items we ordered are out of stock. They should institute a customer loyalty program for those who, in spite of cost and small portions, keep returning so they get dibs on special offers. Do better. read more

Well found out that my order was never taken yet actually canceled due to lack of drivers. Funny, because the Schwan's truck just drove in front of my house on the day they were to deliver. No phone call or email or nothing to inform me my delivery was canceled. So we waited here from 9am till 3pm as your truck just drove by. Called customer service.. what a joke. What a wonderful customer service rep named Sheri. She was so polite, sweet and helpful. I have used Schwann's delivery for years in Cedar Key. Now I live elsewhere and just started up again for delivery. My delivery person was Mike and was he ever super kind and helpful. I do like to tip my delivery person and what a pleasure to tip such a nice driver. The rep Lori sold me on adding the summer sausage to my next order. When Mike arrived with my order he had a Summer Sausage in the truck which was perfect instead of waiting until my next delivery. I recently ordered the beef and chicken pot pies. The beef ones were so awful; the beef so tough! Had planned on this being a meal but we couldn't eat them, right into the garbage! So disappointed! I called the next day, was told order was accidentally not loaded on truck. Rescheduled delivery two days later. Delivery never came. I called and was told order was canceled because I did not have a card on file for payment (I paid for the second order the same way as the first, not saving the card info on the website). The fact that they have no online contact is infuriating. I had my order dropped off which I brought inside within 10 minutes of delivery and noticed 4 items were missing. I called customer service immediately and told them and was advised that even though I received a text and an email receipt showing I was charged for them they would still not reimburse me until the driver turned in his receipts at the end of the day. Unfortunately, customer service would be closed by then (of course) and I would have to wait until Sunday or Monday to call back. She wouldn't note the account for someone to call me. I had to call them back. She wouldn't contact the driver to return with the items. She said they probably didn't have anymore when they loaded the truck. When asked why wasn't I informed or the charges removed when they realized they didn't have those items I was told that's not how it works. She wouldn't even note my account of the missing items so when the driver filed his receipts they would see the note and reverse the charges. This just makes me wonder what kind of grief I'm going to have to go thru to get a refund. I have used schwan's for many years but ever since the pandemic they have just gotten worse and worse. I've been very pleased with this company since I started ordering from them about 3 months ago. I've ordered a few things from here from the filet mignon, their ham omelettes to their fiery vegetable blend. My order has always been correct, the guy that does the delivery in my area is always super nice and always smiling. I like how with each item that you buy it all comes with instructions which makes it even more appealing because I can buy some of the items that I've never cooked before and now I can cook them and really feel like I'm doing something, hehe.... My in person customer experience with the local delivery driver, Paul, has been excellent. He does a great job of communicating, making suggestions, etc. However, the reason for my lower rating is a result of my frustrating overall customer experience through the website and over the phone with their representatives. In particular, after deciding I wasn't going to place regular orders and didn't want to be on their regular delivery schedule, it has taken far too much of my time to be removed from their contact list. First of all, you can't remove yourself from the delivery cycle in person with your driver or on their website. The best you can do is keep moving out your next scheduled date when you receive the email reminder. This was roughly 3 emails a week telling you about specials and to place your order before your next delivery, etc. So after waiting on line to talk to a representaive, I clearly conveyed my request not to be contacted by phone or email unless I placed an order and the emails kept on coming. So, yet another call needs to be placed. There were certainly some items that our family liked on their food list (esp. the multitude of ice cream flavors and treats), but many of our overall food needs are met for a lower price at Costco or the local grocery store. Also, everything they sell is frozen, so I didn't feel comfortable making so many meals from frozen food. There was one item we ordered that I really disliked. And rather than be able to resolve it in person through the driver, you need to contact the company and talk to a representative, go through a questionnaire, etc. and so on, then return the food to your driver. After a couple of these experiences, I've put them in my 'more trouble than they're worth' category of services. Personally, I would like the company to empower their delivery people to be able to handle these types of customer service issues, rather than have customers jump through hoops at corporate. read more

I received a coupon for 30.00 off the purchase of 100.00. I placed the order and was to be delivered on 6-21-18. At home all day and a NO SHOW. Called and had it rescheduled to 6-28-18. Again waited all day and again a NO SHOW and no call. I called and again get no explanation as to why no delivery. Called again the next morning 6-29-18 and told they called me this morning and left a voice mail. NO CALL, was with my phone all morning and NO call ever came and of course no Voice mail. Waiting now to see if anyone actually ever calls me back. They wanted to reschedule for next week or mail me the order. It's Ice Cream, not going to mail well. 2 out of 4 deliveries went well. The 1st time I used Schwan's I was given a delivery date for the following day. After sitting home waiting for it, it never arrived. I called customer service and was told it was rescheduled (the website was updated to the new date after she told me this). She didn't think it was an issue that the website had given me a date they couldn't do. The next two came as planned. I'm on my fourth delivery and ordered it by the deadline for my weekly delivery. It said it would be delivered the following week. I wasn't happy I'd have to wait over a week, but I knew this when I ordered, so ok. The night of my delivery, scheduled between 2pm and 5pm, and it's about 6:45pm. I call customer service (seems like a waste of money to pay them) and the lady told me it would be here, just running behind. I asked when would be the latest he could show up since it's already 2 hours late (sat on hold almost 10 minutes). She said she didn't have that, but it would be here as the driver is just running late. Surprisingly enough, he never did show up. I got an e-mail this afternoon (11:38am) stating my delivery has been rescheduled to Saturday. I went online and cancelled my "pending order". I'm done with Schwan's. It isn't worth the hassle of waiting around for someone to show up that never does. I received an automated call/voicemail a couple hours later that said "calling about your upcoming delivery. Your regularly scheduled delivery has been moved". I called Schwan's to ensure my order had been cancelled. I explained to the lady that my delivery didn't show up for a second time so I cancelled it, but just received message about it being rescheduled. The lady asked for my phone number and to confirm my address. She stated it is cancelled so wasn't sure why I received a message. She was polite. My question was also answered when I called. However, both interactions with their customer service proved to me that they don't want to hear about issues or do anything to fix them. read more

I went into a barber shop today in Idabel Ok, where a driver had stopped and I asked to buy some english toffee ice cream bars and he was out but suggested I get vanilla almond ice cream bars, I gave him my card and when I checked my account I was charged $19.97 for 10 bars. On the pricing guide they were $14.49. I can tell you one thing right now that will be the last time I EVER buy from Schwan's!!!! I don't know where that $5.48 went to but that's beyond overpriced!!!!! read more

I've had Schwan's on and off for over 15 years. I really like their products over the grocery store. Most of the time, the quality is 10x better. On occation, when something was a little too frozen, too long in the deep freeze, my driver gladly gave me credit. This company isn't for those in a tight budget. But, you do get a higher quality food for the money. You get what you pay for. And when it isn't right, they make it right. read more
