From the start, the staff was unhelpful and disorganized. After confirming with my insurance that the office was covered and accepting new patients, I went in for my first appointment, confirmed everything, and had my initial visit. However, when I arrived for my next scheduled appointment, I waited as usual, was taken in, and began the appointment. Then, out of nowhere, the front desk came into the room and told me they no longer accepted my insurance and couldn't see my child anymore. They claimed they weren't taking any new patients, but my child had already been seen before--this was her second appointment! Why was this not communicated when we scheduled? Why check me in and start the appointment only to stop halfway through? It's clear this office cares more about what kind of insurance you have than actually providing care. This is both unethical and morally wrong. I left feeling frustrated and unheard. I expect much more professionalism and care when it comes to my child's well-being. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Ayuste Pediatrics and would not recommend them to other parents.

I told her the ENT said we didn't need to take them out and her response shocked me. "Did you see Mahoney?" She said the decision to leave them in was negligent. And in a more shocking turn of events, we found out her adenoids had grown back. That's very rare (less than 2%) but what's even crazier, is that I talked to another mom who went through the same thing at the same doctor, one year later. I can't guarantee this, but am convinced she did not properly remove them. We ended up seeing Dr. Kevin Casey for a tonsillectomy, second adenoidectomy, and turbinate reduction. I HIGHLY recommend him - he did a great job. I later found out that Dr. Mahoney sent a little girl home after some complications and that little girl bled to death so please please please see another doctor.

The nurses are so incredible with our girls and always go above and beyond. We have seen almost all of the doctors but Dr. Roberts is our favorite. Most recently, our infant daughter had RSV and was hospitalized due to it. Dr. Roberts followed up with a phone call several times to check in on us while we were at the hospital. He is such a wonderful human being and he always provides the best advice and care for our daughters. Highly recommend!

After speaking to our nurse further she made sure to let us know that their policy is to give kids 36 months and older the multi dose flu shot (w thimerosal) but the single dose preservative free is available upon request. Besides being insanely irresponsible, she did mention our daughter had the preservative free in 2017 without ever giving us an option. I wonder how many physicians in that group will go on record showing us their own children this age getting the multi dose. Shame on you Elmhurst Pediatrics. Our daughter is still dealing with multiple tics both verbal and physical suddenly ever since the injection. Maybe she is extra sensitive to mercury - who knows. We should not be in the situation period. And please one more doc tell us it's the same as eating a can of tuna please. I'm not sure if those two things are related but that has been our experience for the last 8 years with 3 kids. Seriously--bring a notebook and don't plan to get out of there within 60 minutes. Dr. Shakir and Dr. Gronli are our great favorites, but each doctor we have interacted with at the different branches has been very good, and I think most or many at West Chicago are bilingual. Biggest tip: the West Chicago location does not have its own phone number. You will be directed to the main office location in Naperville which is extremely busy. Two hacks for avoiding the long wait on hold: --Schedule your next checkup at the end of each visit (obviously) --Start a conversation via text in order to schedule an appointment or get a call back from a nurse with the main phone number. I didn't know this until another patient's parent told me because it is not well advertised, but it saves a ton of time. Would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone. Also, and maybe it's a different chart, they said she was in the 20th% so I should see my lactation consultant again since she dropped from 25th. We went later that day because I was nervous (we had a hard time getting her weight up after delivery) and it turns out she is in the 32%. Which is great news, but i didn't need to pay for that visit... all in all I Didn't get a great feeling.
