I did not really want to write this review but I have not been left with much choice. I will not…read morename names though I could. My wife and I went to get our taxes done at the Junction City office after making an appointment to do so. We had some additional income last year and wanted to make sure that we paid the correct amount. During the session, I was told that I would have to pay about a $200 penalty for failing to pay estimated taxes the year before. I thought that this was odd since I did not know how much additional income I would be receiving in 2022. However, I accepted it as IRS squeezing and moved on. We paid our taxes and fees and moved on. The IRS accepted our return and collected their money from me. About two weeks later, I received a check and a notice indicating that I did not owe a penalty. On the surface, this was, of course, good news. I read H&R Block's accuracy guarantee on the website and it seemed I was owed at least a partial refund for my tax preparation being incorrect. If someone could explain to me why I was wrong, I figured that I would be happy with getting $200 back unexpectedly. The problem was nobody ever did explain after plenty of contact with various H&R Block personnel. I first called the office in JC. I spoke to the woman who did my taxes and explained the situation. She indicated that I would have to speak to the regional manager. I left my name and number and never heard back. I then contacted the H&RB customer service 800 number. They listened to me and opened a case number. They told me that someone would contact me by phone. When a week went by I called back and referenced the case number. They again told me that I would be contacted. I was pleasantly surprised when a couple of days later, I received an email telling me to call back. I did and was told that they were not ready to speak to me and that I should wait for a call. I asked why the email but the young lady did not know why. I waited two more weeks and called, again referencing the case number. By then, there was no "my case number". It had evaporated into the ether. I gave up but swore to myself I would expose this inept form of customer service. Everyone make errors. It is how the mistakes are handled that differentiates the fools from the superstars. H&R Block handles their errors like buffoons. Take your business and hard-earned money elsewhere.

I'm a non-married guy who rents so my taxes are very complicated. I could file them my self, but…read morewhy would I when it's free? Helen was very nice and professional. She had me out of there in about 20 minutes. Right now if you just file your federal it's completely free. If you add state it will be about 40 bucks. It still isn't too bad. If you live in Junction City or surrounding area and want quick service stop by.

I was looking to find a new CPA in the area, after moving here from California. I saw this Yelp…read morereview and was eager to get an appointment with Katrina. I have called 2 times and left voice mails that have never been answered. I also went to the web site and left a request for an appointment.....crickets. I have faith that her work is good, but communication is POOR.

Tl;DR: Use these people, they're awesome…read more In the beginning, there was a W2 for 5,000 hard earned dollars bagging groceries, my father's laughter at my ineptitude at making any money, and the beloved annual date with a nice young thing called the 1040EZ. Things were simple. I was broke. She knew I was broke. I knew she knew I was broke, but it didn't matter. She hung by. Along came better jobs. With those jobs? I got introduced through a friend to the standard 1040. While I'll spare you the cold hearted breakup story of the previous tax form, I'll just say things were still good. I had very few write offs. I still rented. I paid a few capital gains here and there, but I bought and held all 4 of my shares in homegrocer.com...that is until they and their freshly delivered vegetables rotted on NASDAQ. TurboTax to the rescue! Just answer a lot of questions (Still not blind or dead, although for the write deduction I just might be....)....and WHAMO, back to life. It wasn't simple, but it worked. Sine then however, things have gotten...complicated. That damned hussy of a tax form knows I've got some cash to throw around. A rental. A refinance. an actual spouse. Heck, we just had a kid. daycare write offs, mileage expenses. tools. stock losses. stock gains. Time. This all takes a lot of time. On top of that, the more things I had to calculate, the more turbo tax wanted to charge me. State forms. write off forms. Accountant review...I'm getting a headache just writing this. I didn't have a clue if I was actually doing things correctly, as can be evidenced by my expected letter right around June informing me I still owed the government cash. After discussing it for a few days, I asked around and found this wonderful accountant. She Listened to me miss-name virtually everything I said I had. She giggled, told me to provide a host of documents, and off we went. That was 4 years ago. We don't even live in Corvallis anymore, but we'll be damned if we go anywhere else. We use dropbox, e-mail, a couple of phone calls, and do just about everything over the phone. This company knows how to treat a customer, work around our busy schedules, and keeps my relationship with our tax forms from ruining our impacting our relationships with each other every year. No, she's not the least expensive person out there, but in this case, you really do get what you pay for. Go here, you won't regret it.
