Carpenter was rude in my own home! Messes were left. Workers walked out unexpectedly, without warning or calling management. Seemed like they did not like working on older homes. Insulation was removed and never replaced, saying "we're not insulators". Prices were not disclosed, saying it would increase cost to do so. Was sold special-order storm doors without my knowledge, so I couldn't get a refund! Months after final payment I discovered outlets wired to the wrong circuit breaker box and had to call them back for re-work. On the good side, they rightly stood up to building inspector to widen doorway. Overall, most work was well done, even if it was deeply frustrating with little accounting given for expenses. FYI: Don't let them talk their way out of providing references of work on comparable properties first..

Unlike most other companies we considered, their proposal landed within our target budget, which led us to sign a pre-construction agreement to finalize details, and we eventually signed the construction contract. Their estimating process is very thorough, but it took a little longer than expected. However, we appreciated the thoroughness. All other aspects of the project were timely and kept on track. Communication throughout the project was very good. There was a minor issue with our selected deck railing material compared to the original contact specified in the contract, and there was some shared responsibility there. We appreciated how Beckman Builders handled it professionally, ensuring it was resolved. Brian, our project manager, did a great job communicating project status. Mike and Nickey, the carpenters, and the rest of the team were all great to work with. We even hired the landscaper back for more work after the project. We also found the Buildertrend system easy to use for checking the schedule, communicating, approving change orders, and making payments.
