This was a pretty cool spot to pass the time while we were visiting the city. I think it's more fun for kids than adults. There's a small planetarium, however the main projector was not working while we were there. The operator of the projector was very nice though. He put on a Sesame Street show on a square projector for the kids, which was nice of him, however the show was so boring that everyone left before it was over. The IMAX show/theatre was the coolest thing there, in my opinion. There are a few displays and interactive things there that kids may like. Overall, it's an ok place to visit for something to do that's family friendly...mostly to entertain the kiddos.

We visited this place as we were in town for an event. This place is more for little kids then a real science museum. However we did enjoy the 3D movies of the solar system and puppies. In my opinion it was a bit expensive for what they had to offer, but if you are in town and have infants then this maybe a spot you wanna take them.

Awesome Hands-on Exhibits! We took our two (2 & 4 year-old) grands here today, while on a visit from out of town. We and the kids loved it! There was so much for them to see and do, that the time just flew by! We are from Chicago, and have been going to and enjoying the Museum of Science and Industry all of our lives, but I feel this one is better and more accessible for kids their ages. If we ever come back to Shreveport, this will be a repeat visit!

Nice museum. I saw the Bodies Revealed exhibit there just before closing time, and was the only patron in the building.

Shreveport's very own Exploratorium. Science! Imax! Reptiles! Extremely close to the downtown hotels, and wonderful for kids.

I have a vintage film camera that's special to me and my husband, we took it all around Europe together, even into the Louvre! I hadn't planned on taking any pictures (it doesn't even have a flash on it it's very old) but I didn't want to leave it in the car because the heat can ruin the film. I got snapped at and had to leave it in a closet at the front. Then when we left, "oh, you can't take that camera in the gardens either". Dude. Let me tell you something, "art gallery" of Shreveport, you are not that special. Whatever art you have here, is not worth being so obnoxiously pompous that people never want to come back. You are a tiny cockroach of the art world. And reading other reviews where you've been so protective of it that it turns people off from actually enjoying anything, large groups and little kids, makes it even less special. A simple "no photography allowed, sorry" would be enough to let me know I can't use my camera. My camera that took a photo of the Mona Lisa but can't be allowed NEAR whatever motel art y'all have. And I can't take it into the gardens either?Welcome to 2026, where everyone has a camera. Get over yourselves.

This may sound a bit strange but of all those aquariums I enjoy the Shreveport aquarium the most. It's just a enjoyable place to chill out and recharge. When we visit massive, hundred million dollar aquariums, we are often herded through the exhibits with hundreds of people. It is hard to truly enjoy an aquarium in that type of environment. Plus, how many fish do you really want to see? At the Shreveport aquarium my wife and I will often sit in the first opening gallery for 10 or 15 minutes. Soft instrumental music is playing and the fish are gingerly pecking at a coral reef or playing with one another. If a loud child and family comes in all you have to do is wait about 90 seconds and they will pass through. Enjoy their excitement and sense of wonder. We can also spend 10 minutes at the Shark Tank and another 10 or 15 minutes with the stingrays. Most of the other exhibits we view a little more quickly. Sometimes a staff member is eager to tell you about a new addition or some type of exciting aquatic behavior. This is a small aquarium, but what it has, it does very well. If you go, take the time to pause and chill out an among the hundreds of finny creatures. This is a different type of aquarium experience. Check the website for feeding times. My wife and I each have an annual pass which cost $50 a year each. It is well worth it.

I think, we took our time and still did everything in like 30 mins. It's such a shame since the surrounded area was BEAUTIFUL! I thought the gemstone area was cool. Not sure if I would consider it part of the aquarium. This is very comparable to and equally as disappointing as the sea life aquarium in downtown San Antonio. Save your money and time. If you're anywhere near Corpus Christi go to the Texas State Aquarium. That is what a true aquarium should be, and it's by far the most fun and worth every dime! This is a place for toddlers in our opinion. The highlight was hand feeding rays. That's it, didn't ruin our trip thanks to the rest of the cool places around! Don't waste your time or money here.
