I was sad when Ariel left but found that she was not the only talent in the shop. My wife now goes to Chris who is very detailed and does a fabulous edgy cut for her. She looks great and feels confident with her look. My new barber is Victoria and I loved my first haircut! A few weeks later I found a new reason to love it...I looked at my hair after a wild day and discovered she had cut my hair identical to Paul McCartney's 1964 cut!!!! I am a HUGE Beatle fan and I love my hair even more now! I had my second cut yesterday and got the same great results. Victoria listens which is something lacking in many hair stylists. My bangs are never too short, my hair is what I asked for and yet she also seems to find the best edgy look I didn't even know I wanted that looks great. You will not be disappointed in Scissors and Sinners. And the price is much MUCH better than "hair stylists" in Fort Collins....better to tip your barber, my dear! Moved to Fort Collins and saw that scissors and sinners had great reviews. Stopped in on a Sat afternoon...I recommend calling ahead as I got lucky and got the only opening for the whole day. There is a reason they are busy all the time, because they did an awesome job. The cut showed an attention to detail and is one of the best looking cuts i've had in years. I also got a straight edge shave. Melissa alternates between hot towels, moisterizers, and tonic. I've had straight edge shaves for years but this one was superior to them all. Add in easy going conversation and this is easily a 5 star review. The cut and shave totalled 40 dollars...well worth it. read more

while i have never personally gotten my hair done here, the boyfriend always goes here to get his hair done. he's one of those guys that is really picky about his hair and after one really bad decision to go to cost cutters we decided he should try this place. the girls always do a really good job with cutting his hair which according to him is really hard to cut right, i don't know. either way he's happy. they also give you a nice little back massage at the end of it, which i'm pretty sure is his favorite part. and they've got this product that he uses in his hair that smells AMAZING. read more

It was a much-needed cut and Marie was very helpful and took her time to make sure everything was just right. Next time, skip Great Clips or SmartStyle and treat yourself to a proper barbershop - you won't regret it! Great value for the price. Came in and informed the Stylist that I wanted a clean fade and showed her pictures for exactly what I wanted which I thought she nailed until my hair actually dried and I saw what she had done upon closer inspection. Looks like 4 different clipper length lines of demarcation on my head. Looks like little tiny steps to be honest. I told her I wanted my part shaved in which she didn't do. I thought she was trimming the top lengths but she was just actually combing it continuously out of her way. Note that my whole haircut was preformed with my back to the mirror. She basically did absolutely nothing that I couldn't do myself at home... I'm a licensed cosmetologist and to whoever cut my hair.... you should be ashamed. Not blending out weight lines. Not blending different clipper guard lengths (if you knew how to cut hair you wouldn't even use guards) I even informed the stylist I wanted clipper over comb technical blending so that there weren't 'lines'. I didn't tell her I was a professional in the industry before, during, or after the service. I just paid and left. Went home and gave myself a bomb haircut with a guarded straight razor. I love this place. Very few real barber shops left but these folks do a great job of putting a modern touch on the classic barber shop (still get a hot straight razor neck shave and a massage). For $24 bucks you absolutely cannot beat it. My latest visit was with Ariel and she did a heck of a job and was super friendly! read more

Although my rating may seem unfair, I went to Scissors and Sinners for the first time today. I had the unfortunate chance to have my hair done by their, "bandit outlaw" David. David was very kind and listened to what I asked for my haircut, I was very specific. I wanted my bangs to be cut to my nose, the back cut the same length as the sides which I wanted to cover the tops of my ears. I was skeptical of why I wasn't facing the mirror, I really wish I knew what was happening to my hair. I was confused when David took out a pair of clippers and a comb, thinking my hair was too long for them to give me the cut I want, he used the comb to get the hair together and used the clippers as scissors, thinking that it would be cut to my preference despite his strange style I tried to relax, then he put the comb down and buzzed the side of my head, I did not ask for that. I was very specific, not wanting to make a scene or anything I put on a plastic smile and acted like I liked it, when he began on the top of my head I thought he was cutting it the way I wanted, to the smallest detail, but he just kept cutting higher and higher and eventually I hardly had bangs left. I asked for them to be my nose. Not above my eyebrows! I got home and looked in the mirror trying to frantically find a style that would dull the horrendousness of what was done but nothing worked. My hair was to my definition of butchered. I will be spending the months of January and February in hats and won't be returning. I am sorry if I give the other hair dressers a bad reputation but if you go, I recommend not letting David touch your hair. read more

I have had melisa cut my hair on numerous times and have always been happy with her work. Melisa was booked up so I took a chance with Marie. I made an appointment but had to wait fifteen minutes. No big deal we all fall behind sometimes. She finished cutting my hair and asked how it looked? It looked like I had a wedge of hair on the top of my head. Maybe my head is misshapen but I have not had this look in the past! She proceeded to try and fix her work but my head still looked like a wedge head. I like the shop but will stick with Melisa next time. read more

No one has ever spent the amount of time or tweaked the weird parts of my hair (we all have 'em right?) like they did. And it looked great. They're open until 7 for convenience but be sure to call. Every time I come here I leave slightly disappointed... which is my own fault for coming back to this place. I am a guy with long hair on the top with shorter sides. This is one of the most done haircuts in the last couple years. My barber seamed to use almost a template for my haircut. She mentioned my cowlicks but didn't account for them at all. My hair after leaving sticks up so much that I have to wear a hat till it grows out long enough to settle. If you ask me, any hair salon or barber that make you feel like you have to wear a hat to cover up what they have done to your hair is a place not worth going to. Everyone is very nice there and fun to be around but I don't think I will return for another mistake. read more

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I hired one of the stylist, Taylor, to do the hair and make- up for my wedding and SHE DIDN'T SHOW UP! She was bringing all of the hair tools/supplies and the make-up for myself and my bridesmaids, so when she didn't show we had nothing with us to do our own. We had to search and borrow from the venue, family members and guests for make-up and hair styling products. We were two hours late to the alter, which left us with less than half the time we had to take photos between the ceremony and the reception and had to rush through them and cut out a lot of poses we wanted to get, and an even more rushed reception which was supposed to be 4 hours but now was a 2 hour reception. Her actions cost us over a thousand dollars: we had paid the photographer extra to have two photographers, a male and female, so we could have getting ready photos taken as well as paid for extra time for additional group photos- all of which could not happen since we were now running around trying to get ready on our own which put us behind. Wasted money on some of the activities we had planned for the reception that had to be cut. There was only 20 min for guests to dance, so the DJ was paid to just talk instead of entertain. The cocktail hour was cut out, but we were still had to pay for the food since it was prepared. Not to mention the hair extensions and false eyelashes I bought, per her suggestion, that I had no idea how to put on so they sat there, unused and wasted for the wedding. I had paid her for a trial run prior to the wedding which was now a waste of my money and time. I received no call before, during, or after the wedding from the stylist with an explanation or apology. I had continuously checked in with her the month prior to the wedding all the way up to TWO DAYS prior to the wedding and she said she was all set to go; so there are no excuses for not showing up for the job she was hired for. Even if an emergency came up, YOU SEND A REPLACEMENT! The amount of emotional damage caused to me is far worse than the money lost.Your wedding day is the one day you want to look as beautiful as you can. I was far from that due to crying my eyes out when she didn't show, having to run around for an hour searching for products instead of relaxing and being pampered, and then quickly applying my own make-up because my guests were already waiting two hours for the ceremony to start. And my hair, well, the only thing I didn't think to have a back up plan was my hair style. So the one I was suppose to have I now couldn't have and had to wing it on my own at a very sad attempt to make it look "done up." It was a cluster and so rushed through; she robbed me of the joy in my wedding. NO MATTER WHAT THE EXCUSE, THIS WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND I WOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE SUPPORTING A BUSINESS WHO'S EMPLOYEES HAVE NO WORK ETHICS OR STANDARDS. read more
