While in downtown OKC, we took a stroll around Scissortail Park, which is a 70-acre urban oasis extending from the core of downtown Oklahoma City to the shore of the Oklahoma River. The 40-acre Upper Park and 30-acre Lower Park are open, and the Skydance Bridge connects the two sections. The Upper Park includes amenities and spaces for programmed events, while the Lower Park was designed to be more reflective of the natural environment around Oklahoma City. Home of a lake, concert stage, Union Station and many other venues, this is a beautiful setting in the center of OKC.

OKAY OHKAYCEE. I see you. MAPS really blessed the city with this jewel of a public park. This is a humungous space with so much to see and do. This park has expanded a lot over the years apparently and have added the South side of the park within the past couple of years, which is honestly where I spend most of my time at. There are soccer fields, basketball courts, and pickleball courts galore. There's even an outdoor skating rink which has some grid textured flooring to help the beginner skaters (aka me). There are usually weekend events happening if the weather permits, and there's always so much to do in this lovely space. Excellent spot for families, bikers, joggers, and everyone in between.

This is a great park in OKC!! It's actually 2 parks in one, connected by the Skydance Bridge which goes over Interstate 40! On one side there are basketball and tennis courts with plenty of paved walking trails. On the other side is a lake, a skating rink and a performance stage. I didn't get a chance to stay here as long as I would have liked to, seems like a good area to be at in the summer!!

Scissortail park lake shape like scissor. It is great park to roam at night. The lake has boathouse with lake paddle boat rental. They host midweek Wednesday farmers market from May to September. The park parking is paid on the street side. The park connected to the Skydance Bridge. Park is bid for special event and venue. Especially the July 4 fireworks. At night time, the skyline light is beautiful. Many come here for night jogging.

Scissortail park is the heart of OKC. Today I took some pictures around the park, but have attended many events and general visits to walk and enjoy the fresh air over the years. The marathon for the OKC bombing remembrance has the finish line here every years. Many concerts and events during the year. Love the farmers market during the summer too. A little disappointed it's $1 per hour to park here. Should be free for OKC locals. Nonetheless, plenty of trails to walk and grass to run and play. Perfect for families and visitors from all over.

Pretty cool park in the Heart of OKC! Bathrooms seem to be well taken care of. Splash pad was a good time. On another visit the park play toys were enjoyed by my daughters. No a fan of paying to park.... however I get it...you have to maintain the area with funds from somewhere. We will return. Respectfully, Bryan Yukon, Oklahoma

I wish I could share the music! It's such a nice vibe. I love the different groups showcasing tonight and the crowd came out in groves. We need more projects for all the people at Sissortail it was a great evening to listen to great music and people watch of course.

I love Scissortail park this is one of the reasons I enjoy living in Oklahoma City. The free events, farmers market. concerts and exercise classes are always excellent and enjoyable. The park is well kept and a peaceful place to walk in.

I can't believe I've never been here. Honestly, never was too interested, but glad we decided to take the boys over the weekend. We tried to do everything the park offered. We walked on the scissortail bridge that overlooked I-40. You could see downtown too. After the bridge we walked by the water, and then let the kids play in the play area. They seemed to enjoy this wooden spider area where they climbed for almost 3 hours. There were tons of people when we went so, we had to watch our kids like a hawk. There were also some food trucks when we went so, if you were to get hungry or thirsty there were convenient options available at the park. Overall, my family and I enjoyed this park and would definitely return.

We we're passing by and decided to stop by. This park is beautiful. There were beautiful flowers and grass area. We decided to order done ice cream and walk around the park. My son played at the park for a while. They had nice clean bathrooms here. Definitely worth stopping by.

How have I not reviewed this place! We come often and absolutely love it here and the jewelry added addition. We love spark bc they are pet friendly and will come out to take our order. Everything here is amazing and if you get the chance to visit you will not be disappointed. They do live events and much more. Check out their website and Facebook page to stay up to date.

Not for "holiday lights" event. They advertised so much about their lights, yada yada yada so we went. No lights. Anywhere. Union Station was the only lame "light show" and the rest of the park was dark. Thank goodness for the lights of the commerce around them. Other than that we were all bored. Toward the end of our walk there was a small light display where we were able to get pics but other than that it was a flop. My grandchildren were bored out of their mind until we found the playground with the slides. Everyone we spoke with was as baffled as we. Most people we spoke with were also looking for these light displays they advertised so much.

Reno Ave is to the south. The official address for the Myriad Botanical Gardens is 301 W Reno Ave, OKC, OK 73102. Description: A specialty garden with ponds, walking paths, trees, flowers in the spring and summer, and a terrace for events. There is a large fountain at the entrance on the NE corner. Parking/Transportation: There is limited metered street parking around the gardens. You have to either park a few blocks away off the street or park in one of 6 parking garages, which are anywhere from 1-4 blocks away. Even better, you can use the new OKC Streetcar and get off at the Myriad Gardens stop on the northwest side on S Hudson Ave. Basic Info: This garden is one of two specialty gardens within the Myriad Gardens 17-acre Square. The two specialty gardens were funded by the Herman and LaDonna Meinders Foundation. (Side note: Wow, now I've heard of a 7th woman with my 1st name; although there are many in Italy and elsewhere I just haven't heard of many.). This garden was constructed in 1997 and completed in 1998. Side note: I created this business on Yelp and added the first pictures and tips. I've actually created close to 100 or more on Yelp, but I haven't tracked all the ones I've done; as I was too busy giving compliments, liking pictures, tips and check-ins, of my Yelp friends and others on Yelp! I mean, who wouldn't want to go fast without having to zig-zag in between runners, families or other bikes? The trail is well paved with the occasional slight gravel, which is totally avoidable. The path is somewhat like a large 13 mile oval shape, without any street crossings or stop signs. This would be a perfect spot to train for races. I would not recommend bringing your families on the trail just because road bikers are going fairly fast. Wouldn't want a little one stumbling in front of a bike going 20-30 miles a hour. For the sake of runners, the unseen corners are well marked with caution signs and there are two lanes to avoid collision. Overall it's a beautiful spot, there are geese and some other water fowl and the sun hits the river perfectly. There's a moment where you are riding beside a view of the city as well as the beautiful trail. This is probably the least congested biking trail I've been to in Oklahoma City. I would recommend starting at/ parking at Devon Boathouse at Regatta Park. There's also additional parking across the street. I could see this place being a good spot for group bikers as well, it's not far from Bricktown if you want to ride into the city a little bit to grab a bite to eat.

The whole installation commemorates the Land Run of 1889, when settlers surged into the Unassigned Lands to stake homesteads in what would become Oklahoma Territory. The scale of the installation here is enormous, with dozens of figures charging forward. Horses stretched mid-stride, wagons tilting, every dace carved with urgency. One has clearly fallen in their haste. It really does tell the tale. We had the place mostly to ourselves which made it easy to slow and take in the detail. The only interruption was a family who decided the clearly posted "no climbing" sign was more of a suggestion than a rule and that's why we can't have nice things. Grrr! But even that didn't take away from the artistry. Paul Moore spent more than twenty years bringing this to life and the result is one of the largest bronze sculpture installations in the world, honoring the settlers who raced out on April 22, 1889. I could have lived anywhere, but I chose to stay in my hometown. Some days, especially election days, this decision makes me wonder if I need a psych evaluation. But on a n ight like the night of Starlight Supper, I know I am of sound mind and body. Because nights like this are why I chose to stay. A couple of lovely people were passionate about the need for a clinic at Emerson School. They happen to also be passionate about food, wine, and the importance of a few evenings in one's life spent in repose, dining under the stars in the crisp night sky and few hundred thousand twinkle lights. They happen to know how to blend those two passions into a massive fundraiser (seemingly just by smiling and calling in a few hundred of the thousands of favors they've done over the years). The four courses were amazing: I guess that's what you get when you ask four of the city's best chefs to harness their power and create a course of a meal, crafted to be remembered for a long time to come. It probably didn't hurt that LOCAL, Flint and Urban Wine Works are some of my faves - I haven't been to Vast yet but surely I will love it. The champagne cocktail from LOCAL was my favorite drink of the evening, but I certainly enjoyed the several different kinds of wine from Urban Wine Works, my home away from home.
