They were done in one long day and cleaned up the property very nicely. I also used their company to do some repairs to the wood around our chimney and where the soffits had been damaged. Their pricing is competitive and the tradesmen are always reliably on time and do a wonderful job. Brian is responsive to text and calls and gets back in touch very quickly. I had an issue with one of my skylights on a holiday weekend and he had a team over to fix the issue within 24 hours! I would recommend them and will use them for any future needs. read more

Purchased a home in which the previous owner used this company to replace the roof in 2022. There was one leak that occurred in the garage area. This company repaired the leak but refused to repair the damage caused by the leak. This company also replaced all of the roof fascia when the roof was replaced. Just three years later, all of the fascia is completely rotten and the company says it is not their responsibility and is not covered by the warranty. We are having to replace all the fascia at a huge cost. We even asked this company for an estimate on fascia replacement and they never followed up which tells me they know they are in the wrong. I phoned SCM after reading other reviews. Jacob was our rep and he was extremely helpful and courteous. We never had to replace a roof so there were a lot of unknowns. Jacob was patient and kept us informed along the way. The work crew arrived early and worked all day in this hot Tampa sun. The roof was nearly completed in one day with a few things left the next morning. We no longer have to worry about the big rains! Because of the pandemic this past year, shingle roof manufacturers had scaled down on the availability of shingles and colors. Some colors have a long backlog and others are available immediately. Robbie from SCM Roofing (phone: 813-301-0865) is up to date on what is available, listens to your needs, follows through, and he is a very knowledgeable, courteous, dependable and competent professional. I trust and like the GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, and I pleasantly settled for the pewter gray color shingles installed by SCM roofing in May 2021. The new pewter gray shingles look sharp and make a good contrast against my white house. SCM Roofing crew did an average job installing and cleaning up the site after installation. The roofers did some mistakes like shingling over a wood board with large protruding upwards splinter causing a bulge below the shingles, which after I mentioned it, they came back and repaired it. The installers also took my aluminum roof vents, which aluminum now a days is worth some money, and instead replaced them with cheap black coated steel roof vents. Though the cheap black coated roof vents match the pewter gray roof better, do to weather they don't last as long as pure aluminum, etc. I would say SCM Roofing job was average considering some issues I encountered with the installation. What good I have to say about SCM Roofing is that the salesman Robbie is a good person and would try to help you address some of the shingle options, color availability and SCM installer roofers issues. . read more

Failed to show up for roof inspection 3 times, saying they got my address wrong ,Mmmmmm could have called and verified,probably didn't get my number correct either. At this point I'd be afraid to hire them,, for fear they would show up and install my new roof at the wrong address. read more

SCM replaced the roof of our house about 5 years ago. They were timely and reasonably priced, and we were satisfied with their work. However, when we went to sell the place a couple months ago the buyer hired a home inspector, who found shingles of the 5 year old roof had patches of shingles that looked to be about 30 years old. We determined it was probably a manufacturers defect with the shingles, and no fault of SCM. When we called SCM to remedy the situation, we had to leave a voicemail. The next day we received a call back indicating the lady thought we wanted an estimate. I told her about the shingle problem and she said she'd have to speak to the owner and she would call me back. It has been about three weeks since she told me that and I still have not heard back from SCM. I would not recommend SCM since they apparently don't stand by their work. read more

Very slow service. I'm talking snail speed. They start off by giving you a date they're coming out, then cancelling because they "wrote the date down wrong". Then they take almost a month to actually get you the quote because they "typed the wrong email". Super unreliable. Would not recommend if you're looking for roof work to be soon fast. read more

I've spent some time now trying to find a someone to check my roof. My neighbor used and gave great reviews of SCM Roofing. Finally, an honest and responsive roofing company. Insurance wanted to drop me because my 5 year old roof had 2 shingles that looked out strange. Brian came out and immediately saw that there was no issue. They shingles were placed that way on purpose. He told me there was no repair needed and went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. He suggested a roof air vent for comfort and to prevent warping which I will get installed, but told me that was the only thing he could see. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of coming home from work and finding water pouring thru my ceiling in my living room. Once I was over the shock and got some friends to tarp my roof I started the fun job of finding a roofer who wouldn't take me to the cleaners and would be able to do the job rather quickly. SCM was the last company to come out, Brian was wonderful he had sent out one of his employees to take pictures and get on my roof before he came out. When I met with him we walked around the house, he did look at things and then he gave me a packet containing all kinds of information. He took the time to discuss all of my options and the costs associated with each one, the warranties and financing if needed. He then also said that he would send out a crew to add tarps to my roof since it was in fairly bad shape & the rains were coming daily. I went back to my office and looked at all 4 proposals I had received and made the call to Brian. He had a crew out that afternoon to add tarps to my roof. They were very busy and he had me schedule for about a week later. I came home a few days later after several torrential rain falls to find that my living room ceiling had partially collapsed and I had water dripping down. I called Brian at 5 pm, he was shocked and said he would get some people over there asap. He arrived within 30 minutes with two men following close behind. They all got up on my roof and rearranged, re-tarped and nailed down every edge of the tarps, my flat roof was in very bad shape and had a belly, so this was the cause of more water coming inside. Then after that he had the young men come into my house and clean up the downed ceiling drywall and insulation, they swept up, mopped up and took all that nasty stuff outside so I wouldn't have to do it. He called me the next day and had me moved up due to my roof being so bad. His men showed up on time and started work, they worked all day (about 11 hours) and got my roof completed in one day. I was amazed, they cleaned up the yard and took everything away with them. Everything about this company from Brian to the office personnel has been wonderful, they made a very stressful situation much better for me. I would recommend them for any type of construction work, but especially your roof. They are my heroes. read more

After having an insurance check since October 2017, they did not signature verify the check. They signed my name to the check, than it got kicked back. I went to Well Fargo bank with them, they forgot check and expected me to keep running to bank! They sent insirance. Heck to me and I discovered signature forge. I cancelled. Heck and insirance sent me a new one. SCM put a lien on my house for the insirance check amount! Don't hire them! They are only a middle man to the contractors! Find your own contractor and stay away from your SCM PROBLEMS! They had that. Heck signed it without signature verification and blamed homeowner! Completely uborofessional On all levels. And their quote came in lower. I was already planning to use them anyways because they took the time to fully explain every step of the process, the materials they would be using, which is high quality all the way.
