The guy working here was super friendly and helpful, the products seem reasonably priced (what I wanted was actually cheaper than on Amazon, plus buying here supports a local business), and the location is convenient to bike/Skytrain/drive. The guy there ( I regret not getting his name!) got us all sorted out, showed us gear in a range of prices, explained options, showed us how to size the gear and honestly was so genuine. I never once thought that this guy is just trying to make a sale, he was committed to making sure we walked out happy - and we sure did! When ringing everything up he was even able to work up a bit of a discount for us - and gave my son a free ball. This store is about a 45 min drive from where we live and I will 100% be going back, totally worth the trip.

As we are both new to the sport, we had no idea what kind of bat, helmet shoes to get. We got the help we needed, paid and left. As soon as we got home, my daughter took the plastic wrap off the bat and put everything inside. Wife told me that the team provides bats, so we don't need one. Went back to the store, not even 30 min to return the bat and they tell me that I can't return it because the plastic wrapper is off. So now it's a used bat and they can't resell it. I had the receipt and bought it with 30 min, they said again "Sorry, the plastic wrapper is off, can't return it. " If you ever buy anything here, be sure it's perfect. Had no idea there was a no return policy for this place. I would advise to shop where they have a return policy.

I went in to purchase a back pack for myself today and the cashier had made a strange comment about my nationality- asking how I felt about Trump trying to take over Greenland. Not only was this comment out of pocket and inappropriate, it could've also ended poorly for the cashier who had asked it, if it had been asked to a different person. I wish she would've just scanned the tag and let me pay for my back pack instead of making me feel awkward about asking me about my political beliefs. This is the second strange interaction I've had with this cashier, hopefully 3rd times the charm.

Was looking for a few items where the online status shows availability but not on display and no salesperson around to ask or their automatic response is "whatever you see is what we've got". A statement that is more of laziness than true. ...Then why does your online presence say otherwise. So many items are either not priced or mispriced...it is frustrating. Again no salesperson to be found. Only cheerful ones are those going on a break or leaving for work. Then they will answer "whatever you see is what we've got". Terrible experience.

Customer service is a hit and miss as some people know what they are talking about while others don't. Side street parking is metered. It does take time to find where there the equipment is located in the store and to go through finding which you like. Price isn't bad.

I custom ordered a goalie glove there, and nobody sent the order to the manufacturer. I ended up waiting 4 months when I was quoted 6 weeks. Overrall, very disappointed both times I shopped there. Never again.

This is the first Decathlon in Metro Vancouver. I have been to a Decathlon in other places in the world before so this brand is not new to me.
