For starters, the staff is great! They were patient and extremely kind. They all had smiles on…read moretheir faces and were quite happy :) They're all very fast, but very efficient. Our food was delicious!!! The portion sizes for the price is perfect and the ingredients are FRESH! Everything tasted wonderful and it wasn't too much. We also got a smoothie, which was SO GOOD! It was very well blended and somehow stayed blended? Lol. Other places tend to half a** blend things and they wind up separating, but that was not the case here thankfully. It was also packed with flavor. They even have kid friendly options on the menu, too. Inside is more on the "intimate" side. It's small, but not cramped. The decor is upbeat and it's delightfully bright. It was a bit "noisy", but they blend smoothies, so ‍ lol. We didn't mind because it wasn't too loud; we still had a normal level of conversation without having to yell. I'd say it was an average noise level; not too loud and definitely not irritating. Overall, this is definitely a fantastic lunch spot! We will be going back to try more of their menu :)

I usually have great experiences at this location, but at the latest I was disappointed. I spent…read more$15 on a full meal, and every ingredient fell short of the regular proportion. I received a couple spoonfuls of corn, a paper-thin quesadilla, and my salsa was missing. I know working food service is difficult, but at the end of the day people are paying for food and you are providing it. Please train your workers better. :)

First time ordering from Tropical Smoothie Cafe…read more.. I decided to go with a Caribbean Jerk Chicken Wrap, a bag of Miss Vickie's Sea Salt & Vinegar Chips, and a Sunrise Sunset Smoothie. Service and the ease of ordering was great! The prices aren't bad at all. However... When I went to set the smoothie down on my desk...I must have gripped it too tight...and my thumb went right through the cup towards the bottom. As my smoothie started to empty out the hole made by my thumb I frantically laid it on it's side praying the lid wouldn't pop off while I tried to retrieve a couple of cups from the break room. Carefully I drained it from the bottom into each cup. While normally I would take full responsibility for this... The cups for that heavy of a drink could stand be a little more sturdy. I'll be more careful in the future... Lol The Sunrise Sunset smoothie itself tasted very good. A mix of strawberries, pineapple, mango & orange juice. The Caribbean Jerk Chicken wrap tasted fantastic too. Grilled chicken, rice, black beans, cheddar, roasted pineapple salsa, romaine and jerk sauce in a gluten free wrap. It has some heat too! Not enough to be overwhelming, but enough that it lets you know that it's there. The accident with the cup aside... A very good first experience!

I received an absolute abomination of a "Cali breakfast flat bread" today. See the images…read moreadvertised versus what i received. The whole thing was dripping in sauce and soggy. There was hardly any egg at all, no avocado, and barely any chicken. They were not busy when I went in and there was absolutely no care put into into this. It was so bad I didn't even try to eat it and threw it away. Looked nothing like the picture. Not worth driving back to fix this. Incredibly disappointing. I highly recommend NOT getting the new Cali Breakfast Flatbread. I would give this zero stars if I could.

I live in San Diego, so one of my goals for my most recent visit to see family in Ames was to try…read moreClayton Farms Salads. It did not disappoint. I love that when you drive up, you can see all the greens growing inside. We placed our order, then had a quick chat with the friendly young man at the window. But there wasn't much time for conversation because as promised, we got the world's freshest salads. It was so quick. We got home an opened up our salads and they looked amazing. My husband got the southwest salad and I got the Caesar salad. They were both delicious. Everything was incredibly fresh and so tasty. We really liked the Salad Girl dressings as well. I'm super picky about salads, and if it's not fresh, then I'm not interested. This was easily the best salad I've ever had. My Mother has been having their lettuce delivered practically since the beginning and I am always impressed with the freshness and flavor. Unfortunately, their facilities tours were not available during our visit, but I'd love to take the tour sometime. I will be insisting on visiting Clayton Farms Salads every time we visit Ames.

4/14/26 3:15 p.m…read more Online Order for Pick Up Food: We were very excited to try the food here, but we weren't too impressed, unfortunately. We ordered a Caesar Wrap w/chicken, Chicken Pesto w/no cherry tomatoes, Firehouse Chimichurri w/steak and no cherry tomatoes, Chocolate Smoothie, and Farmer's Punch. For starters, all of the produce was fresh and crisp (which is always a plus), but you can tell that meat is not their forte. The chicken tasted as if it were precooked, frozen chicken (not saying that's a bad thing, just didn't seem as if it was freshly cooked), and the steak was full of almost inedible gristle. The overall flavor of the food was pretty lackluster as well, besides on the Chicken Pesto; the balsamic vinaigrette was very overpowering. The Caesar Wrap was large, but the sandwiches were quite small portion-wise. The Chocolate Smoothie tasted more like a green smoothie with chocolate protein powder, and we had a really hard time keeping it mixed; sadly, we didn't finish it :( The Farmer's Punch, on the other hand, was really good! Service: The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The person who greeted us was friendly, but not particularly social, if that makes sense? It almost seemed as if they didn't have enough time for us. They were polite and quick with getting our order to us, though. Ambiance: Inside is quite small and not meant for a dine-in experience; there are no tables at all. This is definitely a pick-up/to-go/drive-through type of establishment. It's kept very clean, though, from what we could see.
