While we visit coffee shops/restaurants for the food and beverage is actually the people that make the place. The woman that took my order and spent a few minutes to chat while I waited for my coffee to be made is an absolute angel. She is the reason I'll be back. That said I absolutely LOVE the blackboard walls with the explanation of various coffee beverages, the classic offerings and seasonal is a cute and classic look to this shop. On their seasonal offerings one beverage caught my eye the rosemary & brown sugar OMG LOVE IT! The rosemary is subtle and not overpowering and the brown sugar flavor adds a hint of sweetness. They offer limited edition military merchandise. I stopped by here for few hours and I really appreciated the baristas and how much they kept a positive attitude, despite being short staffed and getting through crowd rush hour. I ordered some food and hot beverage and all tasted good. This store supports military big time. Although, they're small on the inside with limited seating, they show love in a much bigger way. They accommodated each customer and made sure they were comfortable and completely satisfied. When I visited the Starbucks HQ in Washington, I met a friendly front desk lady who shared with me that her and her spouse were both in military. She also shared with me, "Starbucks focuses on hiring thousands of military personnel to help them keep their jobs, should they or their spouse have to be transferred to another location." "No matter where they are transferred for military purposes, Starbucks has their baristas back. They offer smooth transition into a new store for them. Making new friends is a bonus." My order was made fresh, efficient and tasted great. I enjoyed my stay here, while on business. If you're a military member, come by here and enjoy your stay.

It is perfect, every time -- their syrup isn't overpowering and too sweet, and you can taste the delicious espresso. Not bitter and not too sweet, like other places, their espresso is the perfect combo. The Abbey is always quick, accurate, delicious & made by friendly staff. I tried the eggplant panini, which was very good, and I loved how many different coffee flavor options they had. But the true highlight of my visit was the beignet. I'd never had one before and decided to try it, and wow--what an incredible surprise. The texture and flavor were impeccable: warm, soft, perfectly sweet. Genuinely such a delight. I'm already looking forward to coming back on a cold winter day to read one of the books from their shelves or play a game with a friend in this cozy little spot.
