Very kind people who run the restaurant. There was a drunk driver out front when we got there and they called the police to ensure everyone's safety, we're very attentive to us and we're obviously very protective of clientele. I can appreciate that. The food was pretty good. I wouldn't get the pork again just because it had some fat pieces in it. And I think it's one of those things where everything it good, you just have to find the right combination of things that fits your taste and personality. From all the different add ones to all the different proteins, you can come as often as you want and never have the same bowl. Adding an egg into your bowl is the right move as well. The egg is marinated well and nice and jammy inside. Omg. You guys. What a welcome and wonderful addition to the neighborhood! This area of O'Fallon has been void of restaurants since we moved here, and it's so nice to add Yummy Rice Bowls to the area! We stopped by on a Friday night, and as other Yelpers have noted, we were first struck by the friendliness of the staff. They were so talkative, and it was evident that they care a lot about the food they serve. All three of us appreciated the 'design your own' aspect of the menu, allowing us to pick and choose based on our tastes to build the perfect bowl. We also appreciated that most (or all...? Not totally sure!) of the vegetables are pickled in house! Mind blowing! We brought our meal home, and we all loved our choices. It was such a fun combination of flavors, and everything was so fresh. I also really appreciated how well everything traveled back home. The food was still warm, and nothing was mushy or overcooked. Since this restaurant is right across the street from our son's swim practice, we will surely be back very soon! read more

They've just opened and this small business is pumping out homemade recipes of Asian barbecue and sauces. I tried steak and liked the flavor but i wish it was cut into smaller pieces. I really liked the miso mayo as well. You get a really nice helping of rice, so if you're like me you'll need extra sauce because I like sauce on every bite. What's really cool is they have a vegetarian/vegan protein option. I'm trying the chicken next and taking my husband. read more

Family-owned business and about 10-15 minutes away from Scott. Owner was friendly and servings were good. I only tried the chicken and the adobo but made the mistake of ordering it with spring greens. I didn't expect the meats to be runny or in a soup style. Not sure if it was meant to be that way but it didn't go well with the spring greens. Maybe I should've tried it with rice. Just be careful of what you order with the spring greens and the meats are served with lots of soup runny flavor. Also, no place to sit indoor and will have to be take out only. read more

We have been to Yummy Rice Bowls a few times. It is alright. Nothing to rave about. We have had the pork pinoy and steak kalbi two times. I do not like how saucy the pork pinoy and steak kalbi are. I don't like when my rice is fully immersed in liquid. If you dont speak up, meat and liquid all go in the bowl. I like the topping options. The last time we went we ordered the poke bowls. I thought they were going to be fresh. The bowls are already made. The rice inside the bowl was not good since it was cold. The poke should have been portioned out without the rice and refrigerated. Lastly, when I asked the young man behind the counter what was in the house sauce. His response was, "House sauce." read more

I visited Yummy Rice bowls today spending about $45 dollars on 2 meals and was displeased to find when a left there was a nasty note left on my car from the owner/worker. The signage clearly stated it was a carryout only sign for the business I sought to patronize and thats what I did. I felt as though an incorrect assumption was made but to leave a sharpie note on my windshield? I found this unacceptable. I really love shopping with small businesses but this left a bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended. Holy cow! This is such a great addition to the area. I got a steak bowl, with lots of cool toppings. This place is a build your own bowl concept and carry out only. I got a steak bowl with seasoned rice, lots of cool veggie toppings, and the chili mayo sauce. The owner is so nice and you can tell prides himself on his ingredients. I always recommend this place to people for a fast pick me up! As someone who come from Asia and recently moved here, I appreciate how rich and flavorful their bowls are. Portion's great too, definitely get what you're paying for. Love how they also rotate their drink/boba menu so it's always exciting to find out what they have out whenever I come.
